I created an Ancient Killer a few months ago but never had a chance to test it out...the only profs capable to taking them faster are Jedi, Commando or CM I guess.
I was master swords and had the flamethrower tree in commando, its tricky to switch and apply DOT's but if you manage it then you can solo them in about 20 mins im guessing. If the market wasnt flooded with pearls id go back to this template, but its always more fun to get a commando to help out.

Five Ways:
1) CM/Tank Template - Apply Poisons/Diseases by the boatload, tank.
2) Flamethrower/Tank Template - Apply Burns, Tank, repeat
3) Tank/DOT Template - Apply DOTS (lots and good ones), tank. Takes forver
4) Hybrid Jedi Template - Something like MLS/TK or something to handle your own Damage and do Damage
5) Pure Jedi Template - Probably somethign with Defender for Avoid Incap, Healer for... healing, and LS for Damage.

I hope the group looting changes help out those thinking they need to tank these things - what a waste of good steel. Though, admittedly, I do have a char with template which does just this but find myself rarely in the mood to waste that much time. lol
With group loot changes u take em down faster, everyone will hopefully have equal loot chances - providing no large bugs /cough. Plus its a hellava lot more fun ( except listening to the big heads in group chat - ugh ).

Given high buffs, force armor, and some holocrons to burn, yeah - a Jedi could solo an Ancient.
I STILL want to know how the Ancient I "helped" some Jedi take down was only doing 90-110 damage per hit BEFORE the armor reduction, so I was taking like 9 to 11 damage per strike.
Of course, it could have had SOMETHING to do with the intimbot spamming intimidates one after the other in an EXCESSIVELY rapid fashion.

You can easily solo 'em with a very good ph and some nice DOTs, if i use my 1k DMG hammer (with antidecay kit of course 
) and my exceptional dots it only takes me 20mins or less to kill them (i'm MBrawler MSwords with defenses from other melee trees)

you're definitley going to want a cm , i never tank things, my buddy's a cm rifleman he goes wit hem whenever id ostuff like this, i don't mind splitting the $ cause he saves my wookie hide out there

I'm pretty sure that a holocron can only be used once every 24 hours and I'm positive that force armor burns the crap out of your force. And a Master Swords with a nice ph or a Master Rifleman with a really nice t21 and intimidate could solo one....it would just take a while. Personally, I would never try to solo one of these....they would take too much time and you would most likely make more money and get more loot trying the lower level ones.

Nope, we can solo them. It's just people usually choose to be the pwn all template in PvP and don't look at the skills close enough to see where they can have an advantage in PvE.
about 12hrs ago I solo'ed 2 ancient Krayt at the same time. Right after I looted a flawless pearl (that tuned to crap lol) I killed another 2.
I'm not saying I don't ever die because I do, but what I am saying is I solo them easily. There was a Swordsman that came by right when I was looting the two corpses of the Ancients.....he was like WTH, you solo'ed Ancients? I was like, sure......I do it pretty easy lol.
best part, no armor decay since I can't wear armor. btw, nope I never take holo's either.
btw, time it took to kill them is about 10 mins. probaby less

First I read a lot about: "I solo if I have a tank"
That's not soloing. Soloing is being the only player in the fight.
About how a Jedi can, it's easy, get the force power "intim2", and the force power"animal scare". Then maybe a little bit of novice brawler and there you go.

Actually animal scare sucks. Only way a Jedi will surive an Ancient is using animal attack. That way we dont get hit once. All animal scare does is make them run from you.....which does nothing when I could possibly die in about 5 seconds since they k/d, dizzy, stun, blind, and intimidate spam.
Whats funny is yesterday after I killed a lot of Ancients, a single Ancient killed me and it only had 12k ham left!!!! Just thought I'd mention it started to hit me when it had about 15-20k ham lol. That's how fast they kill Jedi when they get on you.
