A better way to stop the AFK looters, withoutkilling recursive macros, would be to instance the caves (and other POI's) so each group enters a new instance (geared to your group's level) where the trash piles and containers can only be looted once. To get another shot at looting the containers you would have to exit and re-enter the dungeon, and you would never have to worry other groups sweeping in behind you to gather up loot while you are busy killing the bad guys.

While you complain about them camping the cave, you could could have been running missions from a city and looted BETTER CA/AA's.

Not defending any kind of AFK crap we see, just pointing out your complaint does really make sense if you are just angry because you can't loot attachements.

what? are they AFK cause they wont talk to you? wont respond to your nasty coments? have you ever heard of ignoring people that complain about others 'ruining' your game play when there are how many worlds? and how many missions? and how many other caves or NPC that give loot? you could be doing any of those but no. you want to complain of those that wont respond to imature, nasty mouthed people that think that the game revolves around them and nobody else should do anything to opose them.

You are correct that its not in the EULA, but that is only for such things as software piracy and does not go over the conduct that SOE and other playersexpects you to use when playing the game. You need to read the "Rules of Conduct" for SWG. It specifically states the following:

5. You may not modify any part of the Star Wars Galaxies client, servers, or any part of the Star Wars Galaxies website located at www.starwarsgalaxies.com, without the express written permission of Sony Online Entertainment, LucasArts LLC, or Lucasfilm Ltd. This includes, but is not limited to, any hardware or third party software that allows unattended game play, alters movement speed of your character, or anything other action which we determine as an unfair advantage to your character.5. You may not modify any part of the Star Wars Galaxies client, servers, or any part of the Star Wars Galaxies website located at www.starwarsgalaxies.com, without the express written permission of Sony Online Entertainment, LucasArts LLC, or Lucasfilm Ltd. As stated in Rules of Conduct section 8, Player Association leaders who condone, participate in, or knowingly allow such action may be held accountable for the actions of their members.

You might want to read them before you make comments like that.

if the lazy bastards want to sit in afk in a cave wasteing there time trying to get a SEA that isnt going to be higher then a +5 let them, just leaves other better paying mobs free for the takeing. the one problem that i do have are the afk'ers that use the exploit to make the spawn continually spawn over and over. those aholes i report and believe it or not the csr's actually act on it. so anyone else that is going to rant and rave about the afkers save ur breath, its been a ongoing problem since the game came out and the devs and csr people are never going to do anything about it.

INGAME macros have never been deemed unfair or advantageous since available to everyonebecause anyone can use them even if afk on first point.

on the second usually the intent isn't to deny other players at all times but to take advantage anytime it's not in use, and also it is in reference to guild specifically this is usually an individual effort by one person with multiple accts making it a different issue

(oh and no I'm not supporting this just pointing out in most casesthey are currently doing nothing wrong if using only ingame macro's, hell I almost haven't done any ground combat in weeks JTL fiend I am )

Would it be any different if the same 3 names sat there ATK and killed them over and over, not letting any one else use the spawn?

I think its getting out of hand. Macros are useful and wouldn't want to see them done away with, but on lowca a group of 5 or 6 players have the cave camped 24/7. You can't outdamage 5 or 6 players by yourself, which is why the caves are nice if there is noone to group with to run the missions. Its also has a negative effect on the economy. Even if I can get better ca/aa's from missions I can't run them 24/7. These guys are getting more SEAS and selling them for outragoues prices which cause inflation on everything else.

The problem, as I see it, is fairly straightforward. People can (and will) AFK camp an area if they are able to "harvest" a large number of high-value loot drops. This is especially true if it is, as in the case of the Aakuan Cave, it is the QUICKEST way to get attachments.

One reason it is the quickest way, is that they can currently "bug" a spawn... not exactly sure how, but I think it has something to do with immediately killing something or whatever.... this will cause the spawn at the back of the cave to regenerate MULTIPLE times each cycle. This will allow them to harvest 10-20 times as many attachments as a normal spawn would produce in the same amount of time.

If they would simply fix the "spawn bug", the AFK campers wouldn't be able to rake in as much, or at least, it would take them alot longer. It might even get to the point of being more "profitable" for them to actually get out and run some Aakuan Champion missions since the missions drop attachments up to about +10, as opposed to +5/+6 in the cave. Granted... this would take EFFORT, something I'm not sure these guys would be able to handle.

the funny part about this kind of sob story is that ususally the ppl who complain about this wont try to send a tell to the "campers".....

i have been here before, about 100 times...ill get down there, theres like 10 ppl, 2 or 3 groups of ppl tring to outdamage each other, or ive been there where theres just one group of 2-3 ppl....in most cases, if you just send a tell and ask for invite, 9 out of 10 times they will gladly invite you....or are you expecting to have your own personal loot spot??

and really, who is anyone to say how long the alleged camper(s) have been down there n tha cave....maybe they just got there 10mins before you, maybe not....but honestly to file a ticket against ppl or list names in a thread is hilarious, cuz it just goes to show how many damn whiners there are in this game

-move on if you cant simply send a tell and ask for an invite, and if the ppl are afk, just go do aakuan missions, then your guaranteed your own personal loot spot

and if you cant take it like a man...or woman...try typing this -- /quit

i got a +11 Jedi CA from a mission. And someone said its hard to get a group for Aakuan missions.... Why get a group... finish your template, get some food and stims and just go solo. I solo lvl 82 camps of 2-3 without even losing HALF of my health.. if i do, i could just use a stim. Why get a group for missions...
