I haven't found anything that actually drops Holocrons yet. Does anyone know what drops them?

I am going out on a limb to say that the Jedi Holocrons will probobly have a chance of dropping from any random humanoid mob, from chunker to ragtag to mummer thugs

I believe that Holocrons do not 'drop'...

For something as rare and unique (see the new dev post), it must require some other way of obtaining it...

Not sure how exactly to obtain one of the new 'Super Holocrons', but I will search for it once I have finished my training...

From the "What's on the plate for tomorrow" thread...

"Increased drop rate of Jedi Holocrons."

So it's just a matter of finding what they will be dropping off

Searching for holocrons is antithetical to a crafter's existence. Unless you aremobbed by holocron-droppingNPCsroutinely while performing maintenace onyour harvestor[s], your chances of finding the elusive holocron is pretty much nil. If it requires leaving your job to find it, problems and contradictions regarding the equal opportunity concept begin to crop up. Let me give you an example:

Yavin IV, Endor,Dantooine and Dathomir are all remote and dangerous locations. To traverse these locations, you must have the appropriate skills, sufficient fundsand knowledge to do so. A crafter with no scouting skills [explorer skills would be gone! going up hill would amount to somethingapproaching acrawl and tentsto resummonlost pets, etc, wouldbe unheard of]and minimal marksman skillswill be a duck in a shooting gallery in such places, especially if they are alone. Automatically, this would put combat, creature handlerand melee classes at a distinct advantage. But what of the classes who are by necessity and game design, non-combatative? What are their chances of finding elusive force crystals, lightsabers, holocrons, etc? This just doesn't seem to jive with the previous statements concerning the equality of opportunity.

That is exactly why the I believe the Holocrons will be lootable from a meatlump chunker or ragtag. Even a master artisan can kill those guys =o)

Yeah, I'd have to agree that the Holocron's might indeed be lootable from low level NPC's, mainly because the devs like doing this type of thing (Act I of the Cries of Alderran, boy was that fun.)

One thing is that they might still be very rare. We also don't know how useful they will be. From Q-3PO's last post, I get the feeling that they will somehow nudge you in the right direction instead of leading you straight down the path.

Good hunting everyone, I'm starting to feel sorry for those poor Meatlumps...

So the NEW holocrons won't be lootable til Thursday, and likely from the same stuff dropping the crystals for lightsabers
