Thread: Do Speed Sea's Actually Work?

I have a +20 2h Speed AA, a +7 CA, and a +11 Spd mod on my NK Executor sword. However i dont "notice" any difference in my Combat logs if i use them or not.

So the question is do they work? I think with +38spd in AAs, CAs, and weapon mods (on top of my regualr spds), I should be uber fast. Maybe not?

Like to get an official word on this. I've been hearing now that Jedi CAs like this dont work either.

ive heard that when you get your speed really high, you will not see much difference at all when you have speed tapes equipped. i am a master swordsman and when i unequip and equip my belt with +13 two handed speed there is only a few extra points on damage in my modified DPS.

im sure if i were a novice swordsman and unequipped/re-equipped the belt i would see a much more significant difference. it works, just not effectively at high levels /shrug i dont like this very much. i traded an ADK and 30k resource deed for the +13 CA that i stuck in a belt because i am a wookiee and it is almost dead and pretty much worthless now. i think the added speed even at high level should drastically change your damage output, making the speed attachments well worth your money

Well thats just the thing. Im usign the NK Executor. Non Sliced with pwr up its max dmg is about 1010 (543DPS). It does OK but again with +38 to spd modifiers above my template I should be smoking fast, but seems just the same as with none on. I'm just woondering at what point do we just run into the problems of the cool down timers. That could be why im not noticing any difference.

speed sea's wont increas the actual damage, it will just make the weapon a little faster (just like acombat speed buff, but for that single type of weapon or that specific weapon of the mod is on the weapon itself)

No, don't waste your cash on speed SEA's.

There is a pikeman in my PA who got his speed to 300 and noticed no effect.

Anyone here who tells you otherwise are just saying it so you can be one of the clowns to buy a +25 speed for xx million credits off of them, lol

theres a diminishing return on your speed...after about 140 total modded speed, no, you're not going to get any serious appreciable difference by stacking more speed on

up to about 140 speed, and especially in the 100-120 range, then yes, speed will drastically improve your modded DPS

you do still run into the problem of cooldown timers, though, but alternating attacks will allow you to fire at max speed. The speed bonus will also help more on slow, powerful attacks with longer cooldowns.

I notice a huge difference when I equip my +22 pistol speed bando. The thing thats modified is the cooldown timer on everything, there is eventually a cap...just ignore the DPS stat, it doesn't mean a damned thing.

Hello there,

Some professions cap maximum speed... for example, swordsman. Some professions do not cap maximum speed... for example, TKM.

Speed, as someone said earlier, will change your modified DPS (damage per second). You hit quicker thus more damage per second. You will not see changes in damage output, mind you... you will just hit more times quicker.

Thus, 628 damage remains 628 damage. But now 628 damage three times in 10 seconds instead of 628 damage twice in 10 seconds. Thus, DPS is higher due to speed.

Stay safe,

from what i know, if you master your elite profession(s) your speed is capped at that point.. they mods help for non elite toons

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen." - JULIO TORRES

it is not capped. when my master swordsman equips/unequips his +13 two handed speed belt there is a whopping difference of 11 in modified DPS
