Thread: What's going on Kwee?? ALL ID'ers please read :)
I wish I knew!! What I do know is that over the past few business days (Wed, Thurs, Fri, Mon for sure) Image Design has been discussed, and THAT is a very good thing. I'm afraid I don't get much more information than you guys but as soon as I know something juicy I'll be sure to at least tell you that I know something juicy if I'm not allowed to share right away
I do know Thunderheart is looking into whether it will be feasible for us to ID vendors, but that's all I've heard details on.
Thunderheart has been corresponding with me over the past few days to as he says give me the opportunity to have a one on one with him about ID, for which I've been very grateful. All of the polls you guys have been starting and participating in have been very very useful. While some of us don't like some or other of our wish list items, each seems to have a good deal of support
That said, I have no clue what will be approved/possible at this point. And there is always the possibility that the devs may come up with something not on our list. I'm trying my best to figure out what such things might be, if any, so I can give input ![]()
On bugs, I honestly have heard nothing more than they've been seen and that ID bugs are hard to fix since they often involve more than one team
No ETA at all, I'll bring them up when appropriate - so I don't make TOO much of a nuisance of myself ![]()
Anyway I hope this doesn't all sound nebulous, I just really don't know much more than they're talking about us and TH and I are talking about us ![]()
Think of my influence as perhaps not being seen until Publish 8 at the very earliest, and some things might take months to come out. Again this is all hypothetical, since I don't know what might be implemented for us
Keep in mind that they are almost done working on Publish 7 internally so that's pretty much out of the picture. I'm optimistic and hope you are too
Hang in there ID's, our time is coming ![]()
PS. Thunderheart just informed me this afternoon that he will be putting up some Image Designer In-Concept threads within the next few days. He has stressed that it is imperative that we all post in these threads so that the devs can have an idea of what Image Designers would like to see happen withthe profession. Be sure that non Image Designers will be posting. I hope to see you ALLthere, this is your chance to be personally heard by the devs, they WILL read these threads. In Thunderheart's words, "it will be very important that the team gets your ideas by posting in those threads".
PPS. Guys, we have been getting agood dealof dev visits and attention in the last few weeks, please remember to say a kind word before launching into what we want
Devs, like everyone else, respond well to positive reinforcement
How does an Image Designer do combat? We kill them with kindness! All tongue in cheek of course, the devs don't really need defeating
I hope! ![]()

My one concern is that our posting in an in-concept thread may get lost in the noise. There are maybe a handful of image designers. Many people when they see a red name want to put their two cents in to be heard, just to be heard, regardless of the topic. We'll get a lot of posts from people who have never before thought about image design, and probably never will again. They haven't thought past the initial spark of idea and led the idea through to its logical conclusion: post first, think later. Easily their voices will drown out ours.
I want to see what the community thinks, but we need to distinguish image designers from the general public so the devs hear what we want.
In particular, I'm thinking about the vendor limit issue as a prime example. Artisans almost unanimously rallied against the strict limits, while fighter-types would stick their heads in and say that it was a good idea, even though they had little experience with vendors and really had not thought about the issue.
We make people look so bad they run home to put bags over thier faces!
Or make peoples hiar so long they cant see...then again if they dont have hair......um...RUN!
Their voices will drown out ours; thats unavoidable. In one sense that will be good. The voices of our customers and potential customers will be heard. So will the voices of other professions that might be affected by changes to ours. I assume that merchants will weigh in on IDing vendors for example. Where it becomes worrisome to me is that what's good for many customers or other professions may not be good for our profession in our eyes. Or should I say my eyes?

How about if we all sign with our names and "Image Designer Community Member"? Would that be cheesy

1) How about an ID tool for Smugglers to use in avoiding detection.
So to summarize, think about the following:
1) What critical function can Image Designers perform in SWG?
2) How canyou and I accomplish adding this function while preserving the unique playstyle of the Image Designer?

1. Definately make it so that different IDable things "decay" in a sense, as other crafting proffessions do. IRL I'll tell you that my hair changes a lot faster than my clothes (however at this age it's debatable - my shoe size went up 1 in the last year
Definately add more content - this is a biggy and makes up for an extremely signifigant proportion of the profession.
Read my threads about burn marks and slow fat people for more ideas on how image doesn't just affect how you appear.
2. Do what I say!
