Hey everyone, Ive been reading these forums for a while and playing an image designer snice beta.. And I have always heard people asking for a pricing guide to know what they should go by when asking for things, because simply... Tips arent enough for us because it takes alot of work and time and most of the time need to pay to train up the class ourselves.. as not many people want to be image designers due to this.. Well here it is! Finally a comprehensive pricing guide that is both fair and rewarding.. the people who can pay you are the people who can afford the services.. considering NO other crafter or support class will drop everything they are doing just to help people out for a lousy tip.. I even know doctors that have started charging in their own clinics.. Well here is the list, please tell me what you think.. although I have been practicing these prices and find that 80% of the world has accepted the prices and the people who havent are the people who dont see themselves paying for the services of a medic or entertainer.. but would anti up 200,000 for a house or 100,000 for a suit of armor.. Here we go!

That is what I have been successful in so far.. these prices, although they seem a bit high to us.. A ranged or melee could simply do a mission for 10,000+ on lok or dathomir.. personally I have seen my brother rake in 170,000 per day easy.. these prices are very cheap considering the overall prices.. people save up for guns and armor and houses which offer a small advantage in the ways they preform.. why shouldnt it be the same for image design? these prices are very fair as I have been told and again like I said.. the only people who havent liked my prices are the same ones that feel entertainers and medics shouldnt be tipped and that image designers only deserve what they FEEL like paying.. in real life have you ever walked into a salon and asked for a shampoo, style, blowdry, and coloring.. and when they finish offer to give them 3$? Good luck with these prices, I feel a unity among image designers will fix the econemy for us.. why would you pay for something when an image designer next to you is giving it away for free? its all about cooperation.. if we work together we can make this work!

The Lowca Image Designers have a price list similar to yours, but we seem to be a alight bit cheaper in some places. My personal opinion is that no single change should cost our clients more than 10K, and neither myself or the other Master IDs have had a problem getting these prices. I'm always looking for the fairest prices the market can accept. The problem I see with this list is that facial changes, while time consuming are usually so minor that only the client can really appreaciate the difference. I've been charging only 250 per facial change (colorings like eyes or lips are 500) with the cavet that after the first 10 minutes spent in design, each additional 10 minute block is an additional 1K on top of the facial price. Still, for the most part this list is very similar to the most recent pricing guide I've sent out to the Lowca IDs. Good luck getting the rest of your server to adopt them though. I've been fortunate in that the other Masters have play styles and attitudes complementary to my own, and we've developed a nice sense of community.

Good Luck

That list doesn't look too bad. The Image Designers I know of have started talking about a fixed price list.

And I think unity among us is vital for the survival of our profession.

Yes, As I agree very much that these prices may seem high (as ive stated in my first post...) I was just saying that they are very fair considering when and from how much work we get these abilities.. Also I did a little comparative pricing to the other professions.. Selling Large House for 250,000 on my server.. also a suit of Composite Armor for 115,000.. and most weapons (which later need replacing) for 5-20,000.... basically what I am saying is that Image Designer's changes are no less significant then an armorsmith who can create a suit of armor to sell you, or an Architect that can make you a house and furnish it.. We spent our time getting to where we are and not just so we can make a few simple changes for free to whoever wants us.. we arent a class designed for charity work.. Basically I guess what im saying is that these prices are more then fair for some people that want to be unique (and considering the changes last forever and dont degrade like armor or weapons.. I think they are quite reasonably priced).. And no I definatly dont think that someone who is willing to pay 115,000 for a suit of armor, but not willing to pay 15,000 for a skin color change is out of their mind.. that armor will degrade and will need repairs.. the skin color change will last forever or until changed again.. Basically I have been charging these prices, and I find them to be suitable for my and my customers..I make just enough money to keep 1 maybe 2 harvesters.. and my house running all of the time while having a little extra to use on myself and my friends.. So yes, these prices might seem a little high if all you do is sit in the cantina changing people, but are just right if you run your own salon like mostimage designers I know.. For now Im planning to get these prices working on Scylla.. you all can come up with what you think is fair of course, but I have taken the guess work out for most of you. Good Day

well the armou offers us protection thjat 110k suit of armour offers us 20% blaster and kinetic protection per peice......changing my skin tone 3 shades just makes me look a bit differant

But I myself and many other players dont even buy armour...i bought cloths for a mear 2-5k per peice

besides unlike you those crafters need more money...because they need to spend to get....if they werer able to craft anything with no materials then things would be cheapier...personally i like the make up crafting idea, with this in mind i miight be willing to pay more for such things

But today i talked to 2 imagine designers on Tarquinas both having skin tone changes set at 2k per change..thats raher resonable for the 10 seconds it took her to change my apperance considering it takes me 10 minutes to travel out and get that 2k in a mission

Agian I need to state that while your prices are slightly higher than mine in a few areas, overall it's dead on with what the Lowca Masters have been charging, and recieving. We also get tipped beyond our (to some) excessively high prices. So it's obviously not that high. Or maybe Lowca is just populated by extremly wealthy players?

Stick with your list, once your fellow Image Designers realize that they can actually be able to afford taking up a profession outside of image design, or pay mantince on a house they're now able to afford, they'll come around. Like I said, I was lucky in the fact that a few IDs had contacted me in game and we were able to get set up and apprentice other IDs. Strangley enough, the IDs are happy and our clients are happy. =)

While I do agree with you that I think the prices are slightly too high, I do not agree with you Boyoflight when you say that it only takes the person 10 seconds to change your skin tone. It did not take us 10 seconds to get the Master status to be able to change your skin tone. It took many hours of us bugging someone so we could practice and for some of us many credits to train, which alot of people like you dont seem to understand.Just because we don't use materials does not mean we do not deserve to be paid for our service. Yes it is a service, much like a tailor, an armorsmith, and a weaponsmith. We take however long it takes to make you happy, and most of the time stop what we are doing to do that for you. Though I have not decided yet to make a fixed price list I am highly considering it.

The key isn't just having a set price list. The key is to make it attractive for all of your server's ID to stick with it.

Soon has done an excellent job of communicating with all of the IDs and the perks of being in this "union" of sorts is a sense of community and to keep tabs on trouble players that are rude or skip the bill.

Make it known to your customers that your IDs are all in alliance in price (in as nice a way as possible) if they grumble.

The fact that we are such a rare profession in itself is need enough for our reasonable pricing.

im not saying yours isnt a needed service as i just got my skin toned as i said...and I for one know what i want before i get it..i sat waiting 15 minutes by the imagien desginers side while she worked on her other patience and paid 2k for the 10 seconds it took her........she changed my apperance twice before i was satsified and loved it..fast and easy...

Now im not saying that your service isnt useful either but people are comparing the "smith" prices with ID prices but just to make an item they have to pay for the materials while once you hit master you dont need to do any of the such....

So because we don't use materials we shouldn't be able to use Image Design as a primary profession? I'm well on my way to Master Dancer as well, and gee that *sure* is raking in the credits. A master image designer should be able to finance their adventuring carrer through their Image Design alone. Charging 2K for a Master level design is not going to acomplish that. As it stands now, I'm most likely going to discuss upping the skin color pricing from 5K to10K bringing it more in line with the exotic and drastic change it is, instead of the middling pricing slot it's occupying now. But that's for another day, i need to sleep now.

BTW thanks for the kind words Alexis, credit really needs to go to Misery as well, for contacting me and gettign this whole thing rolling.

OMG, you have to be kidding me? I made master a long time ago and have always made changes for 1000 per each accepted final change. (So, 1k for hair styles, 1k for face, 1k for body changes). It works great for and I'm not gouging my customers. Also being a master musician, I give discounts to most dancers and musicians. And you know what? I make a ton of money! Not off the actual service, but rather from the tips. Last week, I made 150,000 in tips. My customers are relieved to see that I charge a reasonable price for my services and always tip above and beyond what I ask. Enjoy your pricing guide, while I enjoy my profits!
