Thread: Standardized Price List!
So because we don't use materials we shouldn't be able to use Image Design as a primary profession? I'm well on my way to Master Dancer as well, and gee that *sure* is raking in the credits. A master image designer should be able to finance their adventuring carrer through their Image Design alone. Charging 2K for a Master level design is not going to acomplish that. As it stands now, I'm most likely going to discuss upping the skin color pricing from 5K to10K bringing it more in line with the exotic and drastic change it is, instead of the middling pricing slot it's occupying now. But that's for another day, i need to sleep now.
BTW thanks for the kind words Alexis, credit really needs to go to Misery as well, for contacting me and gettign this whole thing rolling.

I didnt say you do not deserve money otherwise iw ouldnt pay for such a service.. Someone mentioned that imagine designer is like the artisan and why should they be able to charge so high with no problem...And thats because they only make as much profit as you, they need much of their money to maintain the harvesters to keep us happy.
I have no problem paying money to have my skin colored but 15k is ludicrious, the lvl of the design really doesnt matter and it takes many people a long time to master their proffessiosn yours is no differant
I use the following price list:
7000 credits for a non-char creation style
5000 credits for a regular style
6000 credits for a facial modification
6000 credtis for a body modification
4000 for markings.
I give 1000 credits discount for every added item.
When someone buys body customization, I charge 6000 to change anything they want about the body until they are satisfied, not 6000 for height and 6000 for skin colour.. when you buy the body mod, you can change everything about the body that you want. Same for the other categories.
Haircolour is free with a hair style, and counts as a regular hairstyle if they only want a colour.
People arepretty happy about my prices and I often get additional tips on top of that.
I never ask for the money up front, it shows confidence and trust, and I've never had anyone not pay.
I make an average of 9000 credits per customer, but I do often spend a few hours tweaking some of the customers.
As for the people that don't think we should charge anything, consider that in the time we're helping people we could be making money on missions, and the average time I spend on someone is about the same I need to make that money by missions. Also consider that an image change is a luxury item, and many of the more popular changes require someone to be at least close to master. I won't say I don't make a good deal of money, but I'm not making what other master professions can make. Admittedly I make much more than those poor dancers and musicians, they're the backbone of a community and deserve more credit (and credits) than they get. A few master musicians and dancers working well together is an awesome sight too.
Last week I made 150K in set prices and maybe another 30 in tips. The only differnce is that the Lowca IDs know they're going to get a base fee for each change, and our tips become based upon how well we please our clients.
Obviously price lists don't hurt the profession, only give a bit of stability to it.

Sure it takes a crafter the same amount of time to master their profession as it does us. The split between the two is that we dont have to spend money on materials BUT a smith or tailor or artisian doesnt have to bug someone constantly to get their exp. they can sit alone and craft practicing all they want... For us to get the max amount of exp we have to bug someone else to sit and click accept a million times. That was basically my point.
When I take care of the entertainers that are in my cantina, I dont charge them. I should want them to look good for the people that come in
If they want to tip me, then I will accept, but never will I give them a price.
