I'm a Master Image Designer on Eclipse and I've read several FAQ's and pricelists concering our services but I still don't feel comfortable with alot of things.. I'm leaning towards charging based on time spent. (Maybe 1k a minute and tips are appreciated?) What if a client comes in knowing exactly what they want and it takes about 15 seconds to fullfill their request? let's say it was skin color.. is it fair to charge 10k for that? I've often found if I keep my prices low I tend to run into big tippers.. if I ask 5k for a stat migration I'll usually end up getting 10-15k. Still, I want a way to ward off the people who want everything under the sun or the all time favorite "I dunno what I want, do what you think's best." and then you find out they're broke.
Can I get some advice from ID's with lots of real world experience? (Or maybe that should be virtual world?) Thanks!
Triel Mari, Master ID on Eclipse.

I don't like stat migrations so I ask 15k, and that's a price most customers are comfortable with, and the ones that aren't, well they're not my customers for much longer. All other ID work I do on the basis of tips, or sometimes I just ask for something, depends on my mood and whether I like the customer or not.

Dont feel bad bad for charging up to 20K for services. I'm not an ID but I feel you all deserve at least 10K no matter what you do.
If someone looks poor dont charge alot, if someone comes up and in a full set of composite and a nice weapon they can afford to pay.
Most people make 100-300K per hour running missions on Dant, it's a pitty people are cheep when it come to tipping the entertainers and IDs.

I charge 10k for a stat migration, which is a reasonable prize even for a new player. I do give discounts if the customers is nice and/or short on cash.
all other changes I do for tips since I just love to do it and I rarely have any bad experiences with it.
May the Force be with you all!

I don't have a fixed price list... Stat Migrations:you can't pay me enough to do a stat migration go away. For everything else, I ask the customer to tip what they are comfortable with. This generally ends up averaging around 10K. I've gotten anything from "l33t d00d runs off without a thankyou" to 500K for a single session. Yes, 500K, go figure

I'll throw my lot in here:
Stat Migration: 20k
Stat Migration: 20k
Holoemotes: 1 for 1k, all for 10k
Hairstyling and color only: 2500 flat fee per visit
Facial, Body, and Tattoo changes, 5000 flat fee per visit
And that's it

My prices are pretty simple. I work strictly for tips, except for stat migrations. Those are 20k, but anything else the customer wants done is thrown in for free... I mean, I'm gonna be tied to them for 10 minutes anyway, might as well give 'em a makeover.
I'm rather surprised that people charge so much for holoemotes. I throw them in for free with every ID session I do. They are the one thing about being an ID that I tend to think is fairly worthless... so, I don't mind giving them away.

I have been charging 10k for stat migrations (along the same lines of 1k/minute deal)
and 2k per physical change (roughly)
some pay more, some claim they can't afford my prices, so it varies a bit

I charge 10k for stat migrations (1k per minute) because I find them boring and dull.
Since I enjoy doing REAL ID work, I do anything else for whatever the customer thinks it's worth.
If I'm playing one of my novice IDs who needs the xp and the customer takes close enough to 10 minutes deciding on a new look, I throw in a stat migration free.
My MIDs (and any ofmy Novice IDs who have Hairstyling 4 trained) always throw in a free set of holoemotes for every customer.

I charge similarlyto the prices on Pani's site, though a bit cheaper.
Hair/Facial hair style change: 5k
Cosmetic change: 3k
Facial Changes 5k per feature (3+: 15k)
Body changes: 5k per feature (3+: 15k)
Complete Overhaul (All changes minus Stats): 30k
Stat Migrations: 15k
I've listed it all in my bio and direct people to it beforehand. I know it seems a bit on the expensive side compared to what others have posted, but I've yet to have anyone complain and have even received a few additional tips here and there. My reasoning is this, I've spent more time doing repetative work than most other professions to get where I'm at. You wouldn't go to a Master Weaponsmith and expect a handout on a T-21 or the weaponsmith to say, "Okay, here's a T-21, I don't have set prices, so tip me what you can afford." Sure, the weaponsmith has to come up with the resources, but inthat samevein,a weaponsmith doesn't have to work one-on-one with his clients. His time is in locating resources, our time is in the one-on-one interaction with each of our clients. Oncethe weaponsmith hasthe stuff, he mass produces, throws it on his vendor, and if he's smart, sends out a mass mailing to his regular client-base. People can either buy the stuff at the price he sets or not.
This ismy reason behind not having a "Tip what you think it's worth" approach. I've come to notice people like having hard prices on stuff. Most people don't want to come off as cheapskates, but have no basis as to what Image Design is really worth. Having set prices makes people feel more comfortable in that respect.
Anyways, that got a little longer than I wanted it to, but I think it's painted my stance on the matter well enough.
