I think the ability of IDs to solely do stat migration is a good thing! This gives the ID a notch in the combat world, along with the ability to alter appearance(s).
One thing I have to ask though. How much do IDs charge for migrations now? My personal opinion is that it should be in the neighborhood of what you can earn on one of those high end missions on Dantooine. It takes a buffed/armored combat class about 10 minutes to finish off the lair, etc going at it solo. (This is being generous in my opinion)
The payout for such missions can be anywhere from 25-50k sometimes more.
Why not charge what you would earn had you invest your oints elsewhere?
If/when I retake ID, this is what I would do. Any thoughts, comments?
What do you guys charge?

I think right now IDs charge based on how much they enjoy doing the migration. I charge 10k and that seems to be pretty standard on the server where I ID. Some people hate doing stat migrations and will charge accordingly, especially if the client has been nagging them.
A lot of IDs take another route and ask for tips. When I have worked with tips the most I have made is 50k and the least 1500 for a migrate.
It all depends on the particular ID. And the particular client.

I agree that us doing stat migrations is a good thing. It provides added value to the profession, and I don't mind sitting gabbing for 10 minutes to talk with someone...that is why I became an entertainer in the first place.
Anyways, as for fees....I average $10k per migrate, and that is what I suggest clients pay. However, I am willing to extend a lower price, or even a freebie, for new people or close friends. Additionally, I expect experienced players (someone wearing a full set of BH armor, for example, or driving an AV21), to pay above average.
The most I have received for one ID session is $250k. It was for a migrate and nose job. I sure hope that girl comes back again some time. ![]()

That's exactly what I do actually.
Well sorta kinda.
I charge half of what I'd make from a 10 minute mission session. And still I get yellered at

I usually ask for tips. I get more money that way than if I set a solid price I think. I insist on asking 10k for stat migrations though because I hate doing them. 10 minutes of my life wasted.. sigh.
And if anyone has a problem with my stat migrate priceI say "YOU want to try mastering ID?" and they usually agree with me then. Hehe. God, I hope they slash the timers off stat migrates for masters.

I charge 10k (or 1k per minute) for stat migrations. All real ID work I will accept whatever the customer thinks it's worth.
There have been occasions when I have given price breaks for stat migrations to someone who was clearly a newbie. This was not a frequent occurance however, as I know that a brand new character can get 14k just by doing all of the profession quests that the droid gives.

Yeah but if he picks his starter class poorly he may need a stat migration to finish them!
I had a friend who started as a brawler and picked up Medic, except he couldn't /tendwound on anyone to finish the missions because he didn't have the Mind bar to do it. I had to Stat Migrate him so he could get beyond there.

My price is 20k per stat migration, and that includes a free recharge on the holoemotes, and any actual ID changes the client may want during that time. I'm chained to them for 10 minutes anyway, might as well have some fun.

My prices atm are 4k/min on the timer, so 4k for hair, 40k for stats, and 10k for anything else. Sure, some people are shocked by 40k for a stat migration, but many, and I mean MANY are willing to pay for it, especially when no one else is around. I try as much as possible to push stat migrations onto novices (I'm a master) as it just wastes my time and other people's money. I'd much rather be killing things with my pistol, but I'm always up for a real ID. BTW, if you want something that wouldn't add to my timer, it's free (ID work and holoemotes are free with migrations).
However, I love to give discounts to entertainers cuz I know that they get poor tips and I'll charge extra for people that demand that I cycle through things. Someone that says, 'show me all the colors' I say 'show me 50k'. Also, If I'm off planet (like in a dungeon on an adventure planet) and they want an migration, I typically say 200k. Haven't had a snag yet, but you'd never know, and I'd rather finish my hunt than waste time having to rebuff.

I agree with Janae, being a master myself I try to push all of the clients onto the novices in the tent or in other areas. I dont have a set price, but I say I normally get between 20 and 45k, they usually are shocked.. and run off yelling bad things, but alot of other people will pay it without an argument. Afterall, that's 1 Mokk lair on Dantooine, which everyone who really has money does 2 every 10-20 minutes could easily afford 1 migration, its not like I charge them 20k per 3 hours for buffs like doctors, which only last for a short time.. People complain that it's an issue of resources... so ya know, doc buffs cost about 1.5k per set of buffs in resources. And for most IDs... TIME is a resource. And a valuable one at that. I would much rather be making the community look better by giving newbs a free face lift or doing complete makeovers for the more advanced people.
It really all depends on how nice of a day i'm having at the time.

I don't play very often these days, so the only time I'll do stat migration is if they're nice, and they let me play around with their image. There's nothing better than having a customer come in convinced they never want to change their look, and by the end of the stat migration they're all excited about their fab new look!
Oh, and I just go by tips. I almost always get paid better than I did when I had set prices.
