OK, so im in theed watching this gal do an image design on someone. I let out a gasp when -300 floats over her head. This girl isa Master Image Designer... and it got me thinking.

Wouldnt it be great if there was a special Player City Building for Master Image Designers? Inside this building, a Master Image designer could do image designs at no cost of mind.

Why only masters? Well we wouldnt want anyone to get a totally free ride of the tree would we?

A lot of people are doing ID in the hopes of the great Jedi slot. This girl i watched last night is a true id that did the profession because she enjoys it. lets give her and other id's like her some reason to keep the profession.

Give Master Image Designers Salons!

I was thinking of a spa idea too where they could heal BF like the rest of the Entertainer line.

Topp, that's a really excellent idea, actually. We could be massage therapists!

I like the idea of having a salon, but the whole "ID costing no mind" will probably not ever happen. It'd be awesome if they could give a significantly reduced mind cost while inside the building, though.

That too would be great, but again just for Masters.

This was my I dea that I posted recently in another thread that is going dead. It was a responce to some people saying ID should be harder to master, anyway here goes:

______________________________

"I'll admit I haven't been doing ID as my main source of income lately, but I never had any respect issues when I was out there every day. I had lots of people that sought me out constantly & who were very thankful of my time.

I don't think making ID harder to master would help, & I darn sure think making Master Entertainer a prerequisite to Novice IDis a VERY BAD IDEA.

The real problem is lack of content. Let's face it, this game is running out of new players fast, & the ones that are playing now are eventually going to find the "one look" they like best for their character & they won't need our services anymore. The market for our services is going to shrink fast unless we have something new to offer that actually has meaning to the game other than how a person looks & that is needed on a fairly regular basis.

Here's an idea...although I do find it kind of funny:

Since ID is in the entertainer line, & the rest of the entertainer lineheals BF, what could ID'ers do that could somehow be related to their job that would also heal BF? You're gonna laugh....Spas!!! In RL it's very common to see makeup & beauty consultants in spas performing tasks that are designed to improve ones appearance, but that also greatly contribute to rest & relaxation (can you say healing BF?). We could have new spa type buildings designed for us that would make much more sense than doing makeovers in crowded dance clubs.

Then we could go out & start our own resorts complete with spas, cantinas, health centers, hotels (with rentable rooms), restaurants....someone slap me I'm getting carried away! Anyway, you get the idea.

______________________________

I still think this idea is cool! And your right, as masters, we could place player spas the same way master dancers& musicians can place player cantinas. We could team up with other master doctors & master chefs too to create player resorts sort of like the Lakeside Retreat but with facilities in each specialty that is geared towards image/health/wellness.Theycould be the most fun places to visit for the ultimate in healing & buffs in the galaxy!

If they ever make master entertainer a prereq to Image Design, I'm going to punch someone, and mean it.

What place does musician have in the ID world? And do we even GET anything out of master entertainer for ID? No. If they do that I'll be really, really pissed.

Me too, which is why we have to contantly discourage such talk. They have already done this with other crafting professions which basically means we were all lied to. For example, you are not a true master architect unless you are also a master artisan & master droid engineer. That's 203 skill points, leaving you only 47 to use for anything else. That's almost as bad as being a Bounty Hunter folks.

well from want i hear, you can SELL your hair when it appears in your inventory to a vendor. simply set up a vendor with all the hairstyles you can do, price them a million credits each so they don't get soldand in the seller's info area put the real price for the change. you could also pick a generic style and make one of each color available.

Not really crazy about the whole 'not losing mind'. That wouldn't do anything for us.To me it seems to bring down the level of playing an master ID.

Just my humble opinion, not meant to be written in stone.

I can see how that would take a certain level out of the game for people, but what about a reduced mind cost like someone else mentioned above?

I got in this game during beta, i won a slot from ign.com. I hated the game (it was my first MMORPG, had no clue what i was supposed to do but i LOVED the character creation process. Im a Teras Kasi Master, Master Marksman, have quite a bit of Pistoleer, 4-4-0-0 in Medic so i cant be an Image Designer (not to mention im Trandoshan so i dont have the mind to do it anyway)...but i really like the idea and i want to see it become a better profession.

While i may get flamed for this ....

See oroginally i was just going through my holocrons like you all hate but then it turns out all of my guildmates and therefore fellow citizens in The city all canuse a Master ID so it looks like what was gonna be just for the holo is now my new profession. Funny how things can make you change your outlook. Well in our city (since i also happen to have the Mayor position) and we are setting up a Spa so that i cna have a place to work out of. So yes this is a Great Idea i would be willing to buy a special building for this purpose.

No, no and no. We do NOT hate people that get holocrons that say to master image design. We hate the people that get holocrons that say to master image design, and then come in and bash us for enjoying what we do.

If you became a holocron ID, fine. If you've found that you like being and ID, and are going to keep it, wonderful. Please let me be the first to welcome you to the community
