Ok, We want droids or more tents or placeable ID teminals or even master owned salons. If we were to get a facilitiy for ID work, what would you like it to be?

I'd like to see:

-An out door garden/patio with seating included, since outdoor furnishing seems impossible.

-A pool or hot tub, inside or out would be fine.

-At least two rooms (waiting area and operating/makeover room).

-Cool "neon" signs like the ID tents have forprofessional recognition.

I don't want a placeable structure at all. I'd much rather have a terminal that can be placed in any structure so I can decorate as I see fit, or a droid module.

I would just like my own terminal similar to a crafting station. So i could put it in my cities Cantina.

I too, would prefer a terminal that could be placed in any structure (in or out of a city).

Somehow though, I doubt the devs will do anything that desirable (from the ID's point of view) and will most likely give us a seperate structure... in which case, I would prefersomething that was adecent size (maybe around the size of a player med center). I would not want a tent, however. I hate tents. Give me a real building.

Actually, I would like to get the timer reduction in cantinas, hotels, theaters etc... and when it comes down to that, when you consider that the ID Trainers are pretty much all in theaters (in the NPC towns that have them) I would think that we should be allowed all the benefits of a tent in a theater. This of course, would make the currently existing player theater the logical building for IDs to be able to place (either in addition to a tent or in place of).

My only complaint with that, Maisland, is that theatres can't be decorated on stage... at least last I knew, they couldn't. Although, I suppose it does make sense to change people's looks in a building meant for dressing up. I do agree... no tents though. If we had to have a building (and not a terminal), I'd prefer if the interior was rather generic and empty, so we can dress it up however we want. I'd like it if the outside was rather ornate though, no matter what "style" it is (tat, naboo, etc). After all, if beauty is our business, the building should match.

...If we were stuck with one look for a building though, I'd rather it was akin to a hair salon. I'd love to have an old time barbar shop.

I must agree. I have always disliked the way the player placable theaters are designed... unfortunately, they are the only existing player buildings that fit with myvision of the ID concept. I would like to see a player placable theater that had an indoor stage instead of an exterior one. The player cantina has a much better design. Perhaps something in between the two... with a large outer room with a stage and a smaller "dressing room" in the back.

That said... Dancers and musicians get two buildings that they can place (theaters and cantinas) why not give IDs more than one type of building that they can place?

I think that sounds beautiful Sake

I've recently seen a salon in Coronet, Corellia, it is amazingly beautiful and I hope to own a salon myself that looks like that (and plays neat music like that too!!)

Personally I like the Idea of a separate building that could be customized. Perhaps something small like the Merchant tent that only takes 1 lot and is instantly recognizable. Would be sweet if it could be registered on the map as well.

If it were to take the form of a terminal I would like the ability to place a sign on the building it is in,like merchant can, but perhaps in the form of a barber pole or swing board.

Given that I've seen a surprising number of musicians and dancers performing in the salons, I think that there should be some cross over... where the dancers and musicians have the ability to get the perks that normally only a cantina allows (actually, I'm not sure if there are or not... the salon I see with dancers and musicians in is the one where the salon is right next to the cantina, and still in the 50 m radius, so I assumed that was connected with a specific physical range where the dancers get extra benefits). At the same time, I do think it's horrendously unfair (and silly) that we can't build our own buildings. I understand that they are making the steps towards that, I mean we didn't even have salons before, but... I mean if you say that a dancer or musician can place a theatre or cantina because it's where they would do their business, you have to give the professions like ID the same sort of thing. OF course, that argument can open the door for all sorts of problems for the devs, but **shrug** [sorry to any dev that reads this... I didn't *mean* that to sound cold and cruel, really... answering those problem questions are sort of the devs jobs, right?]

Now... as for what type. I agree about the no tent thing. First... just... yuck... Imagine getting lyposuction in a tent. 0.o Which is kinda what happens with some of the chars. Second. Eh. Just... there should be more permanence to a salon, we don't go to the customers. They come to us, because that is the type of profession we have.

I also am *not* in favor of the droid. First off, that destroys the game play/rp idea of going to a place where a professional helps train you and get you into the shape (litterally and not so litterally) that you want to be in. A droid ruins that particular feel. You can have droids to help medics because the droid can carry extra supplies and act in a way as an extra set of hands. Second... as was mentioned, we lose that excuse of "oh, oops, not in the salon, can't help you." Cold, its true, but I've had to switch off the search option *AND* change my title to get any amount of time to rearrange my house or do chores with mining equipment. People would see me with the MID title and stop me. Besides... those new helper droids? They can sometimes replace an exsisting droid you have in your datapad. Me was not amused at *all* when that happened to one of my chars.

At the same time... many of the smaller planets don't have salons. Lok doesn't, nor does Rori, and I don't *think* Tantooine does. Five cities are listed in the FAQ that Kwee typed up. FIVE. Per galaxy. Thats not enough. Even assuming that the very limited number of masters aren't on at the same time, you have all of those trying to attain the title. It irritaing, and often expensive,to *have* to go to one of the major cities to do a Stat migration.

For the same reasons against a droid, I'm not sure about just a terminal... though apparently that pink glowy thing is supposed to be the actual machine that does the changes... I'd put up with it, I guess if we were limited to that.

I *like* the exterior of the current salons. Those neon thingies are neat [yay technical terms, lol]. It does need to have a relatively uniform exterior, we want to be able to recognize it... just like we recognize the tents from the houses, and the different miners from one another. Maybe just the presence of those neon hang signs could signify a house from a regular salon? Instead of giving us a full house, give us a sign or a house decoration that no one else can make, and limit the usage to ID salons. The presence of the decoration would show the house on the map as a salon like a terminal or vendor shows up. It would allow us to chose the house size we want or use an existing house/theatre/cantina. Of course, if you do that, you'd *have* to make it so that other vendors and the like could be inside the building. Hrm. I don't know how difficult that would be to do. ... I'm rambling now. I'll stop. ^.^;

That is a lot of work when they could just allow us to do our job inside the NPC & player cantinas. The NPC cantinas already have empty rooms that aren't in use, & the player cantinas could easily be modified to make use of the two hidden round rooms at the front, or by adding a room directly behind stage... those two walkways on either side that smack into blank walls are begging for doorways.

Well, I've done it

tonight I finished my own "salon" in the first room of my medium sized tatooine house.

Complete with tailor vendor and counters, salon chairs and even mirrors that I sorta.. put together..

I've got more to do on it yet.. and will post some pictures soon to share

but for the most part.. I would want a terminal to put in the house.. like a crafting station can be placed.. that allows me to have my Master ID time bonus for cosmetic and body work, but does NOT allow stats.

I'm all for keepign stats in the tents

but when I'm in my home planet and city, I would love to be able to offer my clients and guildmates the no waiting timefee on ID work within my own home.

Oh and the lil artsy neon thingie outfront of the ID tents..

OH yes.. I do indeed want one of those for my porch "sign"

emblazend when you mouse over it to say

"Stosie's Style Salon& FashionBoutique"

ah well

Ugh, okay, Musicians and Dancers have their own buildings to do their own stuff in, the Salon should be completely and only ours (Image Designers). Remember, we're trying to get the perks for ourselfthat other professions have. (IE Dancers/Musicians and Cantinas / Scouts and Camps / Medics and Medical Centres) Hehe, it just irks me to see Dancers and Musicians doing their business in our Salons when the Cantina is not that far away.

The tents are fine, but if people would prefer to not use a tent becuase it wouldn't seem right to do cosmetic surgery in a tent, then there should be the option to use either a building or a tent (because I really love the tent )

I don't really know what the whole purpose of having a droid would be, as I haven't read the threads on that topic yet.... (slow reader) Hm, don't really know why we'd need a vendor either, we don't make anything to sell that is Image Desinging related... But I think it would be nice to have a board to put on the wall or something where we could list our prices.... I don't think there needs to be more stationary Salon's around the galaxy. The ones that already exist are in busy cities, meaning if once your finished getting the xp for one box (if you're working on getting master) you can go a short run to get some training from someone else. It's not an inconvenience at all in my eyes. You also get more business there. I'm not even a master yet and I have people asking me if I can do some image design for them, just because I'm in the Salon. I do agree with the exterior of the current salons, I LOVE them! I also love the iterior. I spend most my time inside the Salons now, because of the music and the appearance and feel. That's why if/when we do get the option to have our own salons (hopefully it doesn't have to be placed within a player city, like merchant tents) I would like the options to design it just like that. The attractive neon squigglies in the front, the furniture and music etc.

Hm... and it would be nice to put gardens outside our salons, it makes sense, garden - beauty

Most of the vendor talk has surrounded actually IDing the vendors as opposed to having vendors of ID products or services.
