There's nothing greedy about charging for your time if you take care of your customers. I charge anywhere from 1k to 4k per change.

Yeah it must be the ungrateful Ahazi people I was offering a full body makeover (anything on body or face or hair they could have one of each) for 1k and no-one took me on

I don't know what it is about my server, but I get at least 1-2 requests per day for changes from people who heard about me by word of mouth, they always travel to me, and they tip an average of 10k per session. Sometimes less, sometimes more, but I think the tip system is working for me.

I have this bad habit of not responding to tells which are something like "do u do hare - were r u" but responding very well to e-mails. And, of course, living on Dantooine and refusing to travel generally keeps the cheapies away.

It all depends on the client and my mood. Much of the time [with nice people and a good mood] I do freebies and say so right at the beginning. Sometimes [with less nice clients or a bad mood] I charge 100 credits per change offered. With @sshats or really bad moods its a curt 10k paid in advance.

I suppose I should add that Marci doesn't make her living with makeovers she makes it buffing. She does music for a living; ID she does for fun.

Well, I also use a 'tip' system. I noticed not many ID's do either. On Sunrunner, at least, every time I do a job for someone, they ask me what it costs. My usual reply is "It's a tip-based job, hun".

I get anywhere from 100cr. to 500k credits (Yes. I was tipped 500k. From a Master Tailor freind who knows I'm hurting for cash for my Armorsmithing). Usual is anywhere from 5-10k.

I don't care if they tip lousy. I remember when I was a noob, and wanted a hair job. I was scrounging for change to pay the ID in question a whopping 50 credits. I feel so cheap.

And ID is my main income. I take jobs almost anywhere, almost any time. It seems that a Master ID on Sunrunner is a VERY rare sight, as even the Holo-grinders tend to drop it about five steps away from the ID trainer.

It depends which server I am playing on.

On Starsider I use a tip system and do quite well.

On Sunrunner I had to implement a price list (thank you Theed Local) because it seems like most people there feel it should be free.

As for "Do u fix boobies" messages (yesthat is an actual tell I got today)and the like, I usually weep for the future and then tell them to fly to me and I'll max their torso for 4k.

I'm also a big fan of the tip system. It can be a bit of a gamble, but unless I need a solid amount of credits I usually ask them "to pay what they feel it's worth." Can be a bit risky, but usually I end up getting more than I would have asked for. And its really gratifying to get 25k for one hairstyle change.

In response to your question, Oskeosuw, Kwee's got some really nice guides and links to some reliable pricing guides, but I would personally recommend the tip system. Typically works much better for us then the other poor entertainers.

On that same note, however, you probably shouldnt expect to get rich from this profession. If you want to get rich, be a weaponsmith or armormith.

lol - i dont think you should charge nothing because it does not cost you anything, what is with the service, with your time?

today i went to an ID for tatoo and body change. I let her show me all tatoos and at the end she said it costs 2k. well i tipped 20k and she told me that she can not charge more then 1k per tip without loosing costumers. sounds like you cant become rich as ID.

I'm with Kwee on this one. Free design may be appropriate at certain times for certain people, but doing it for everyone all the time undermines the profession, creates more jerks who feel they have a right to free ID, and makes it vastly more difficult for those of us who earn our daily bread in this profession.
