I see alot of threads asking for new fuctions which often involve some level of crafting on the part of the ID. Some have expressed hesitance about adding crafting to the profession, especially those who may have chosen it as a non-crafting option.I was just interested in where those of us who post on this forum stood on the issue.
I would ask that we try to stay on topic and keep the commentary and debate minimal as there are other threads for it. Choose the option that best expresses your view on this. I'll do my best to periodically keep score.
A) I don't want to see crafting added to ID
B) I would like to see crafting as a larger part of ID
C) If it was necessary to add a cool new function, I would not mind ID crafting
Current Result
a) 15
b) 1
c) 1

I am an ID because I enjoy the social interactions with others. I've tried crafting and found it to be a dreadful bore, and I think trying to market goods would be even more annoying.

A. No crafting.
I think there could be other ways to enhance this interesting profession without the need of crafting.

i'm not an ID, but i'm a customer
i've always wished i could "buy" a portable holoemote from an ID with such and such number of charges instead of having to run back each and every time
but i think to fix this they should just add more charges anyway

ID needs stuff that will encourage players to interact with us. (Not buy from usor force them to interact with us like stat migration does)

D) I would like to see some small craftable item(s) that had a temporary effect that we could sell on the bazaar... and use to fill the time waiting in the tent for customers when there is a slow period.
As for the poster who mentioned the holo-emotes... I think Master IDs should give 50 charges instead of 20.

No.
No crafting.
No crafting for ID's.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I've been playing for a while, am tired and stupid. But I'm smart enough not to want crafting in ID.

I assume counting your vote as A) is ok?

well ... LOL
B) I would love to have a nifty item to craft to sell to customers that I could sell on a vendor in my salon (if we ever get the ability to make our own salons) just as an added income of sorts. Nothing to complex, simple resources, but something that is desirable to customers - maybe just a little 5 charge holoemote and a 2 use compact (one for eyeshadow and one for lipstick with very limited colors - say 10 tops) thus allowing for two very basic services if there are no ID around to assist. Or maybe to align us with the GCW we could sell a one use "fake ID" that would nullify all negative faction for a period of say 1m-30m (1hr delay between uses) depending on quality of resource and ID skill but be able to ID a "fake ID" that lasts up to 3h (no delay between uses)(thus making the ID still more valueble, but allowing customers services if they cant find us). I think it is wonderful that all of you opposing crafting can make a living off of ID, but I for one do not enjoy staying cooped up in the salon all day long. They havent handed out ID mission terminals, I have no combat, I enjoy crafting, I leave my ID tag on so customers can find me using the search functions. With these items being made craftable by IDs, it isnt like you would be required to craft/sell them. They would be an added bonus to the ID who do wish to craft but I honestly do not see how anything like this could effect your current clientel. How many of your clients are going to go pay Xk for a 5 charge holo box if they are close to a salon where someone is actually located and they can get a 25 charge box? And think about the client side on the cosmetics. If you were not an ID, would you not think it would be awesome to be able to just change your makeup? I mean come on ppl ... anyone can put their makeup on in the morning, give these girls a break. Im not trying to be flamy or attack the ones who dont like the idea of adding crafting, but I really think that something small like this will help leveling ID. And rather than giving them crafting xp ... shoot, give them ID xp for it. It would sure be nice to be able to do something other than play with yourself when you are trying to get that xp in. Well, there is my 2 cents (or 200 cents it would appear hehe). I really wish some more ppl would jump on board with small craftable items like these.
Look at it like this
5 Charge Holo Box vs. 50 charge Holo Box
2 use compact w/10 colors vs. 100+ color option through ID session
30m Fake ID w/1hr delayvs. 3h Fake ID with no delay
Can you see that these would not be very highly in demand other than if the customers simply could not find an actual ID for these services, but would still give a little something for the ID to sell for some pocket change?
Small crafting items would be a great addition IMO.

Lol... I'm so sorry. As I mentioned, I was very tired and probably shouldn't have been posting in such a state.
Yes, you are correct. I would like to see ID remain craft-free.
