Thread: Prices (i don usually complain but)
I think 30-50k is a fair price for stat migration. even 20k is acceptable for me but how am i suposed to charge that when some people do the same thing for as low as 2k?
Ok so im still making alittle bit more of money now sience more peopel come to change there hair collors but ID is still a crafting prof that isnt even closley comparable to other profesions when itt comes to money. now i dont say i whana make millions in 1 day but i do whant to be able to live on id whit attleast some money left ower. And before you tell me to get another proffesion thats not the point the point is id should be a porff you can make a living on and just like all the other proffs not have to have a skill you dont whant just to be able to buy a house or something.

and i mean why not charge for it? before patch itt could take days to stat migrate. now we can do it in 10min why not charge for it?
now i lowerd my price to 20k today and people still complain but they pay anyway so itt will do for now.
but i have a fealing prices will go upp after pub10 when we dont have asmuch novice id around anymore.

But I have to agree, Free Market.
I've never charged more than 5k for stat migration. And I won't. I'm sorry, if that undercuts someone, but
first off, I don't advertise. So it's not like I'm stealing anyone's business. If someone asks. I'll tell them I work for tips. So I've received anywhere from 500 credits to 80k. Anything is fine with me.
2nd, Not all players can afford 10k or more. If a noob gets on, and there stats are messed up, how are they supposed to be able to afford it? Not to mention, I'm creating repeat business for myself by not charging much from people. Especially from new players. I've even done stat migration for free. A good conversation and go a long ways. And I ALWAYS throw in the HoloEmotes for free in every ID session.
Maybe my prices are causing others to lower there prices. Maybe not. But there are other ID tents to work out of. I have many friends in the ID business, and it is my ONLY form of income. I've never outrigth stolen any of there business, but I'm sure some people have come to me after asking prices from all of us in and around the tent. If someone can't make any money of being ID, maybe they should try a new proffesion. I don't understand how some one can complain that others are stealing there business because they are charging less. You have options. Not like you need to buy resources or anything to do your trade. So if you are spending more than you are making, get an accountant.
I use to work for tips but with over 50% giving 0 - 50 credits I had to stop, those who still work for tips does hurt us all, but it's their right to do so. But those who are changing 2k I personialy feel are griefing, us real IDers. Like any grieffer the best way to deal with them is to not acknowledge them, so they will get bored and move on.
*edit* On Stat Migration I don't look at or want it to be my main money maker. in fact to get an Stat Migration from me now you will have to get a deluxe service ID, if you use the full ID service is up to you, but your are paying for it ether way. 
The 2k grief IDers can have the stat jobs, I'll will be very happy just doing real IDs.

Well I sat in the Theed ID tent for about an hour last night. In that time I had 3 requests for stat migration. 1 bugged every ID in the tent to try to get the price for the migration down from 50k and ended up leaving frustrated. The other 2 agreed to the price and while waiting I brought up all our new colors and actually ended up doing some actual ID work on them for that same 50k. It's your choice how you spend your time, but I can make a lot more than 5k in 10 minutes using my other profession so I don't want to get stuck just clicking commit every 10 minutes.

20k for stat migration? Are you serious? How long does it take you to do it? Does it take you ten minutes or does the person you've done it on have to wait ten minutes once you're finished?

It is a social prof like all the other entertainer prof.

...None of us ever said it was a crafting profession.
Trust me, we are fully aware that our profession takes no 'resources' and sometimes I wish it did, so people would stop bitching at us for price gouging. But we damn well deserve to be paid for our time. If you don't like it, you are more than welcome to go elsewhere. I charge 20k, and I think it's MORE than fair to sit there and do nothing for 10 minutes.
