As for the time, customer do wait too, but they don't chagre you for that, even if you do get xp(hum, new way to improve my income here ). (Yes I like playing devil's advocate).
And as far as I know nothing is insta-build in the game.

I'm not saying your prices aren't justified (even if I will not pay that), I'm saying your justifications for your prices are wrong.

Huh? The customer has to wait but they are getting a stat migration out of it. The image designer has to wait and gets money instead of a stat migration. You are paying for a service and when you pay for services, what you are actually paying for is using someone else's time and talent to make your own life a little better.

Gavvot said that we get xp's out of it as well...but if you are a Master that doesn't matter. At that level

you have all the xp's the profession needs. Another point is that stat migration before sometimes took

days to complete. Now it takes ten minutes.

Its funny because people **edit** about paying 10-30k for a stat migration but the combat types can usually

make that pretty darn quickly. The crafting types make good money as well. Doctor's make obscene

amounts of money. (They are basically the EQ Enchanters of Star Wars)

So I go from making about 20-30k a week (yes a week) to 300k. Its about time! I've been so poor

I could barely keep my small house going that I was given for joining my PA. (My char doesn't like to fight much.)

My character is also a Master Dancer. I rarely rarely get tips anymore (pretty much from mind buffs and peeps

who are astounded that I am not AFK), so its doubly important that I make money from ID. I rarely go to dance

anymore because dancing for 2-3 hours without getting a single credit.

Its about time....

I think his justifications are fine. 20k for this time isnt' all that bad. And yes they do wait too, adn he gets exp, but a master Id doesn't need the exp. So it's not like it's a nice perk getting the exp. Now I'm not saying I'd charge 20k, far from it, if you've seen my earlier post. But if i get a line of 10 people all asking for Stat Migration, I think charging 20k for having to wait there 1 hour 40 min, isn't all that bad, compared to what I've seen some charging. You have to see it from the ID point of view. The ID has to wait longer than 10 min, if they do more than 1 person's stats. You only wait 10 min.

You don't get it.

All I'm saying is that compare profession that have nothing to do with each other is a bad idea.
Because if you start compare like that, I will correct the comparaison.

I just try to make you realize that saying 20K for 5 minutes of your time is rude to people that spend much more time to make the same amount of cash.

The fun part is that now, novice ID are more looked after than Master. Quite the opposite of all the other prof in the game (at least the crafters).

True, but those crafters charge an extremely high amount for what they are doing. Yes, resources cost alot. (I know, I build houses with another character), but if a doctor is paying - oh I don't know - 100k for his/her resources they can usually make that back pretty quickly.

oh and IDs do have costs just like every other profession whether they craft or not. Houses, vehicles, pets, clothes, furniture, taxes if we live in a PA city, armor if we are into combat also...weapons...what else...travel expenses...

It all costs money. One would argue that crafters have the same expenses and they do, but they make money alot easier. Until now ID requests were fairly infrequent, and I figure once the novelty of having techocolor hair goes away, it'll quiet down again some. Like I said before, crafters make their money back and more (especially doctors). IDs have to rely on others to progress.

So stat migration is a good thing for giving us a) more to do, and b) more money. My character actually took up fishing at one time so I could actually afford to keep my house going.

I suppose what is happening here... is that both sides of the group are not listening.

Group 1- the people who think we have no right to charge anything for our time: Are not changing their minds.

Group 2: the image designers who disagre: Honestly don't care what group one thinks and appreantly will be charging whether group one whines or not.

Ever been to the dancer forums lately? Wanna know what the biggest non-dancer complaint is? HMMMMM?

Why... it happens to be "Where are the dancers, I can't find buffs, All the dancers are AFK... I can't get my buffs" ... and the response is "Well, you see, our profession was never very large but a combination of how we were treated by the other playerbase as well as by the developers has made more than half drop the profession."

You know what group 1 is gonna do when it's all said and done? ::sighs:: Whine about how there are no image designers. .... if you jade the group you need.... you will get nothing. If you are an image designer who doesn't feel like you are worth enough to be paid well for dropping what you are doing and catering to someone else's whim (Statmigrate 8 people. 80 minutes at 2k eats. Riiiiight) Then more power to you.... talk to me in 3 months and see if you really are still an image designer.

Group 1- scan these forums... and you'll see how many other people don't like that most of us charge. And think about it. Will one more post make us any more amiable?

IDers don't have cost to ID.
Not like any other prof.
ID don't have fails like all the crafting prof do, even at master and with uber skill tapes and crafting stations.
ID don't need Cloth attachment/Armor attachment (why is that btw?)
ID don't die or are incapacited like combat prof when they ID.

True, they can have costs if they want, but none related to the profession.

As for the doc, I dnno on your server, but on mine, resources they buy goes at 50 to 75 cpu.

Wow you did well for yaself at 20 to 30k a week . I tended to get about 10k or 15k including my dancing tips over a week period. Best money I ever got was when I was running faction missions in an attempt to get Novice TKA [100k! woohoo].

so here is an idea Gavot or whatever: don't ever get your stats changed. dont ever change the way you look. Oh, and the next time you go to your barber, don't pay him either and tell him HE DOESN"T DESRVE TO BE PAID EITHER...and then repeat that to your shrink. =)
