Thread: Image designers shooting themselves in the foot
I've been charging about 10 K up to this point. Might go up to 15-20K as it takes a long time too do compared to everything else and requires you to go to a salon, but I agree 50K is nuts.
out of interest charging 15-20k how mamy customer do you get ?
and how many are repeat customers
in my opinion between 1-5k is a fair price for what it is any thing above that ison the verge of greedy as the only thing it costs you is 10mins of your time
if you want support to change the time to 2-5mins im with you, create a pertition and i'll sign it and im sure most other people will
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. And since you seem so adamant about it, let me suggest this: go grind out image design and offer your services for 1-5K. To me, you couldn't pay me enough to sit in a tent for 10 minutes with someone whose only interest in interacting with me is to berate me for pricing schemes I don't follow, and to tell me how little my time is worth. In other words, I don't offer stat migration, nor will I. For any price.

If stat migration is basically worthless with buffs, why are you spending time coming here to tell us this? Just ignore stat migration and move on.
cause i was bored ![]()
and i will ignore it i have the money to be able to
my speaking up is mostly for new plays who dont know a thing about how stats effect there skills and dont have the money to pay for stat migration once they have learned
While I was still working on Live (I've recently made a mostly-permanent move to TestCenter) I'd get an average of 4.5K tip per session, each session lasting about 2-3 minutes. Now you're telling me I'm worth 5K max for 10 minutes…in what way is that making me more money? It's making me less money at something I'd rather not be doing. (Not to mention I can make a lot more than that with my combat alts…so really, not worth it at all to me. But some others may enjoy it, and may benefit from it—that's cool.)

im just putting foward an idea
Image designers having a bigger impact on the game is a good thing and allowing them to make more money a good thing
Anything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If it's only worth 5k to you fine; find someone that's willing to charge 5k or less or do without. My ID can make more than 5k in 10 minutes doing other things. I won't charge less than the opportunity cost of my time.

im just saying from a game econmy point of view instant stat migration is only worth about 1-5k
Game Economics or
One rule of earnings for the combat cprofessions another for the noncombatants
hhhmmm let us hypothosize and calculate for a minute shall we
Medium/high level combat character pops to dantooine for an hour, kills some beasties, has some fun and pops home
1. deduct travel and buff and healing costs
2. total profitwell in excess of 1 million credits
ID sits in tent offering stat migration for an hour sits looking at a sodding timer go down - may have some fun or may have to suffer said combat character whining about the cost
total profit max prices / stat migrate less than 250k (i.e. < 1/4 of what the combat character is earning)
more usual price 10k /migrationless than 50k
Now as, at the moment, I charge 10k per stat migrate (obviously less for newbs and the impoverished non combat classes) that means no more than 50k an hour - with which I am more than happy and, I must say, with which all my customers have been happy.
To sum up, the game economics supprt much higher fees than are being charged by most ID's (10-20k) and people are happy not to wait an eternity for the stat changes. In short it seems the problem lies with the tight combat characters who want something for next to nothing whilst they themselves rake it in.
Now the next question is, how can we up the wages for non combat medical characters and cantina bound entertainers - who generally find that the aforementioned wealthy combat characters also seem to suffer from short arms and long pockets when it comes to tipping them ? ( or is it just that most combat characters hold non combat classes in contempt and so treat them accordingly)
(Note for the obsessively picky: This is of course not true of all combat characters, many of whom are exceedingly generous in the tipping department and are exceedingly egalitarian, having great respect for all genders, professions and species)
Comparison to buffs buff on all stats 8 - 12k effect 2 hours max
Nah I don't evenneed to calculate anything here. You say that IDs should charge 5k for a permanent change because you can get temporary one for twice as much. Howay mon!
Stop being so tight, spread the wealth go visit you're local ID at once - while youre at it, stop in at the local hospital and cantina and throw some lavish tips around ![]()

Als o think we look at time as money and sitting there for 10 mins is quite a wait....no that we dont do it all the time at the shuttleport ![]()
Mabye shuttleports shoud be like ID tents too and we can do all our work there while people wait for the shuttle. Win for us and gives those that are wating something to do as well.
