Hey there boys and girls -

Just wondering....

How long of a grind is ID to master if:

1. I do it from server start to server finish

2. I do have someone to ID other then myself

3. I dont have someone to ID other then myself

Just wondering if anyone is doing ID and want to know their experiences - seems after the "patch of doom" there are VERY few image designers around.

I'll do a breakdown and analysis for you!

Cosmetic changes give 50 XP on self, 100 XP on others, and take (2) minutesoutside a Salon tent, and (1) minute inside a Salon tent.

Body changes give 150 XP on self, 300 XP on others, and take (5) minutes outside a Salon tent, and (2.5) minutes inside a Salon tent.

I will use the most XP optimum technique, which is Body Designs, when available.

There are three methods to grinding ID XP:

Method X: The fast way. In a tent with a Partner. Cosmetic changes can be done at 100 XP every minute for1 and 2/3rds XP per second. Body Changes can be done at 300 XP every 2 and a half minutes, and thats 2 XP per second.

Method Y: Themedium way. Either in a Salon tent without a Partner, or with a partner outside a Salon tent. Cosmetic changes can be done at 50/100 XP every 1/2 minute(s) for5/6ths XP per second. Body Changes can be done at 150/300 XP every2.5/5 minutes, and thats1 XP per second.

Method Z: Theslooow way.Outside a Salontent without a Partner. Cosmetic changes can be done at 50 XP every 2minutes for5/12ths XP per second. Body Changes can be done at 150 XP every 5minutes, and thats1/2 XP per second.

1,000 Image Design XP for Entertainer:Hairstyle Customization I. (You are limited to Cosmetic changes at this stage.)

X: 600 Seconds = 10 minutes. Totaltime= 10 minutes.

Y: 1,200 Seconds = 20 minutes. Total time= 20 minutes.

Z: 2,400 Seconds = 40 minutes. Total time = 40 minutes.

5,000 Image Design XP for Entertainer:Hairstyle Customization II. (You are limited to Cosmetic changes at this stage.)

X: 3,000 Seconds = 50 minutes. Totaltime= 1 hour.

Y: 6,000 Seconds = 1 hour, 20 minutes. Total time= 1 hour, 40 minutes.

Z: 12,000 Seconds = 3 hours, 20 minutes. Total time = 4 hours.

10,000 Image Design XP for Entertainer:Hairstyle Customization III. (You can now change Eyecolor, and do the more XP efficient Body Designs.)

X: 5,000 Seconds = 1 hour,23 minutes, 20 seconds. Totaltime=2 hours,23 minutes, 20 seconds.

Y: 10,000 Seconds =2 hours,46 minutes, 40 seconds. Total time=4 hours,26 minutes, 40 seconds.

Z: 20,000 Seconds =5 hours,33 minutes, 20 seconds. Total time =9 hours,33 minutes, 20 seconds.

15,000 Image Design XP for Entertainer:Hairstyle Customization IV. (Doing Body Designs.)

X: 7,500 Seconds =2 hours,5 minutes. Totaltime=4 hours,28 minutes, 20 seconds.

Y: 15,000 Seconds =4 hours,10 minutes. Total time=8 hours,36 minutes, 40 seconds.

Z: 30,000 Seconds =8 hours, 20 minutes. Total time =17 hours, 53 minutes, 20 seconds.

10,000 Image Design XP for Novice Image Designer. (Doing Body Designs.)

X: 5,000 Seconds = 1 hours,23 minutes, 20 seconds. Totaltime=5 hours,51 minutes, 40 seconds.

Y: 10,000 Seconds =2 hours,46 minutes, 40 seconds. Total time=11 hours,23 minutes,20 seconds.

Z: 20,000 Seconds =5 hours,33 minutes, 20 seconds. Total time =23 hours,26 minutes,40 seconds.

40,000 Image Design XP for Image Designer: Intermediate Customization. (Counting all 4 boxes.)

X: 20,000 Seconds =5 hours,33 minutes, 20 seconds. Totaltime=10 hours,25 minutes.

Y: 40,000 Seconds =11 hours,6 minutes, 40 seconds. Total time=22 hours,30 minutes.

Z: 80,000 Seconds =22 hours,13 minutes, 20 seconds. Total time =55 hours,40 minutes.

80,000 Image Design XP for Image Designer: Advanced Customization. (Counting all 4 boxes.)

X: 40,000 Seconds =11 hours,6 minutes, 40 seconds. Totaltime=21 hours,31 minutes, 40seconds.

Y: 80,000 Seconds =22 hours,13 minutes,20 seconds. Total time=44 hours,43 minutes, 20seconds.

Z: 160,000 Seconds =44 hours,26 minutes, 40 seconds. Total time =100 hours,6 minutes, 40seconds.

120,000 Image Design XP for Image Designer: Expert Customization. (Counting all 4 boxes.)

X: 60,000 Seconds =16 hours,40 minutes. Totaltime=38 hours,11 minutes, 40seconds.

Y: 120,000 Seconds =33 hours,20 minutes. Total time=88 hours,3 minutes, 20seconds.

Z: 240,000 Seconds =66 hours,40 minutes. Total time =166 hours,46 minutes, 40seconds.

160,000 Image Design XP for Image Designer:Master Customization. (Counting all 4 boxes.)

X: 80,000 Seconds =22 hours,13 minutes, 20 seconds. Totaltime=60 hours,25 minutes.

Y: 160,000 Seconds =44 hours,26 minutes. 40 seconds. Total time=132 hours,30 minutes.

Z: 320,000 Seconds =88 hours,53 minutes, 20 seconds. Total time =255 hours,40 minutes.

So your answers are:

Assuming the servers are up 22 hours a day, here are how many days it will take:

Method X: 2 full days, and one day of 16 hours, 25 minutes.

Method Y: 6 full days, and one day of 30 minutes.

Method Z: 11 full days, and one day of 13 hours, 40 minutes.

Forgot to add an error of about +2 hours to Method X, and error of+3 hours to Method Y, and an error of +4 hours to Method Z.

This is due to the 5 second gap in opening the window and accepting changes.

Oh, and as for your first question, I'm doing Image Design, and Just_Bri is... but we're certifiably insane. That's a qualification for Image Designer now. I know some other crazy people.. Most are doing it just to get Master Entertainer, though.

I started fromM. Entertaineron May 18th and mastered ID on June 7th. As not many people want body changes and most seem to want hairstyling and the dreaded stat migration I'm figuring it took close to 110 hrs. I wouldn't recommend trying this until June 22(the proposed date for pub 9). My mind still hasn't totally recovered.

Tragic isn't it? In Runesaber's attempt to "force" us to do something that really comes naturally, he has doomed us to solitary confinement.

Considering the devs way back in betastated that for a power gamer an elite profession should take a MONTH and THREE MONTHS for a casual gamer, 11 days seems to be a "gift." Heck, it took me a month =)

That's a misquote—it was three months for a template, not a single profession. Assuming a template implies a triple mastery, that'd be one month per profession at a casual pace.

120 hours < a month... You support my point very well...

That's agregate time, not straight grind time. Are you being purposefully obtuse?
