Thread: Annoying bug? character ruined?
Iasked a master Image designer tochange my height on my dancer. She looked like a giant among all these small dancers. When she made me shorter i seemed to loose all weight so i asked her to add some (she said my weight was 0 and i never make my chars super thin, i drag the weight slider nearly to the middle to get some curves)
Well it didnt do anything, my curves was lost and i gained a pot belly instead. She changed my height back to my default but i was/am still annoyingly skinny.
No one seemed to be able to fix this (i checked my muscle build, my weight, height...) So i made a new character on a new server with the exact same body proportions (i happened to have a screenie of my char customization) And ah! great looking. With this new character i asked a Master Image Designer to check my weight. She found that it was 0 (and still..i did not put it to 0)
She just checked, and guess what? Now this char lost her curves too. Flat butt and no hip.
Whats up? No one seem to be able to fix this..do i have to delete my Dancer and remake her to get my lil hip back?
Ug! I hope there isn't a new bug. I've never heard of this happening to anyone. I've never heard of an IDer not being able toproperly adjust height, muscle and weight. There shouldn't be any problem with you dropping a little height and keeping your curves, even if the weight did default to 0 for some strange reason. An IDer shouldn't have any trouble changing your weight and curves to where you'd like them. If they're unable to then your character must be bugged.
I think you should runa full scan while you're at the launch pad. And then check to see if an IDer can fix you back up again. If they still can't make a change that shows upon youravatar then you'll have to put in a ticket and see ifa GM can fix you up. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I think the fullscan is going tofix whatever ails ya!
Yipes! I know height is one of the customizations that can default to zero without you wanting it to, here's how it works:
1/ Image designer clicks on "height" to pick a new setting.
2/ Height slider bar shoots over to the far left (zero) without the Image Designer having touched anything.
3/ At the same time the customer's height sets itself to zero without the Image Designer having hit commit and therefore also before the customer has even seen the preview screen (the one that allows you to toggle between how you would look with and without the customization being offered).
I've never heard it happening with weight but that doesn't mean it can't happen. However you're saying you are skinny with a pot belly? That sounds very very odd. I would give the same advice as Moonlilly.
1/ Go back to the same Image Designer, see if she can fix you, have her pay close attention to if her slider bars shoot to the left on their own.
2/ If she can't fix you, go to another Image Designer (just to see if the first one is bugged). Have the new Image Designer try to fix you.
3/ If that doesn't work, open up a customer ticket ![]()
Good luck!
This is, frankly, quite strange. I don't play on the Radiant server, but whenever I change weight or height on someone, the tab automatically goes to wherever the player set it at. Some other changes though, no matter where the tab the player originally set at character creation screen, do default at 0. Perhaps weight and height were one of them? Or it might just be some strange bug... I recommend /bugging it. Good luck with your character!
Well i tried everything. I dont think my specific Character was bugged because as i said, i made a new toon on a new server and same thing happened to her. I full scan didnt do anything, i didnt miss anything.
I tried to adjust my body appearance with several different ID's and none could help me out.
This is exactly what happened..note that im very picky so many people didnt see the change "ingame", i noticed the difference at the instant it happenedhowever. Even worse when i took a "before&After" screenie:
1) My shoulders changed shape, fell down a bit
2) My chest got thinner, expecially if you compared the front/back..like i lost some muscle build (but it was still set to max. I even tried to adjust it to zero, then to max again)
3) The boobs (mamal glands? chest slider option? scuse me if this comes offensive to anyone) got a little bit smaller when the chest got thinner. Or more like, they changed a little shape and "fell down" a bit.
4) My legs got thinner, some sort of mix between loosing Muscle/Weight
5) My butt got flatter..again..some mix of loosing Muscle/Weight
6) My waist got actually fatter when looking at it (profile) I gained a small pot belly (very small..but graphically noticable compare to the normally flat stomack)
7) My hips got less noticable, making my toon look more boyish (in conjunction with the Waist) So fatter waist and less hips equals a more..flat (non curvy) appearance.
It seem to me like my toons body stats at char creation and ingame are very different. The problem is, i am totally unable to get the proportions back - its not the muscle build and the weight build only gives me a waist/belly so i consider the character ruined.
Now, i "could" go to customer service about this, but frankly i think i'llbe wasting my time there..if it takes 2 months to get a vanished large house back..how long will it take for them to find something as un inportant as a missing waist? I'lljust remake the char and dance my way up towards Master Dancer again. Yep, so now i'm deleting the char.
I know its not the ID's fault this happened but after this i'll never ever let anyone mess around with my toons appearance. Items lost are replacable, so is money - a Toons appearance ruined is not replacable for me.
The scary part is that any ID im grouped with can just "check" my weight (i cant do nothing about it) and my character will be ruined again.
If someone wants to see screenshots i can send them over - im not very good at hosting stuff on websides. (read: I have no clue how to do it)
Love,
JD
Hrm. That is really odd. Before you delete the character, I'd definitely try a CS ticket though. I've gotten replies to my last tickets within a day or two.
If you have before/after screenshots, I'd definitely like to see them. Not that I don't believe you, but I think it might make tracking the bug down easier. You can send them to [email protected] if you like, and I'll toss them up on my website for viewing.
This still makes it very difficult to actually adjust someone when they want it and put it back as you've said. I'm just trying to say that it doesn't actually change unless you offer the design to them. That's my experience anyway.
Can we make sure that this bug is brought to the top of the priority list for the developers? (Kwee, are you our correspondent)? It seems like it could cripple our credibility entirely.
It's gotten to where I'm afraid to even practice on myself for fear of not being able to get back to my starting looks. Certainly customers will be even more fearful.
