Thread: Imaging and Species Swaping
Hello all, im nto an ID, but i have something id like to throw to the community. Im a Twi'lek and was playing around with the Species swaping "exploit" with one of my ID friends. She proceded to tell me that it woud be fixed in the next patch. But here my question:
Why should a Master ID not be able to coustomise people to there liking? This is SW were talking about, and there are more than just the 8 species in the galaxies. What about diffrent species marraiages and there off spring. Maybe a Transhdoshian with lekkue. There is only so much you can do with the specie you have chosen, and some alot less than others. Why not open up the board a little? I think the thing that defines a species more than anything else is there special abilities and there max ham/secondaries stats. why should we limit ourselfs to a certian standard.
It seems to me that many of these species wouldn't be able to reproduce with one another, and those that do would give birth to children of the mother's species with some sharedtraits of the father.
But, in fairness, I have nothing to support that from the Star Wars universe.
If you feel this way, you have every right to your feelings. Many of us would like to legitimately have more variations, content and changes. However:
- We can't make these changes, only the devs can.
- Many of us are against this bug not because the end result looks are fundamentally "wrong" but because those willing to do something clearly against the dev's wishes are being rewarded, while others of us who follow the rules are being penalized. That is why the bug must be fixed.
- Some of the results are just stupid-looking. Wookiees with lekku? Come on.
If you feel strongly about this issue, I would suggest taking it up with the devs, who actually have the power to change things. We in the image design community are already in the process of lobbying for more changes and customizations.
"The Nikto are characterized by their leathery skin, reptilian eyes, and fierce temperments. All five races are genetically capable of interbreeding; 93% of the offspring from such unions resemble only one of the parents." -The Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia
...and that's talking about races of the same species. I imagine it's even less probable to breed inter-species.
The reason for the post here is to get an ID's opinion on the matter. Like i said in not an ID and would like to knowhow the ID community feels about it.
Will itadd toor hender the profession?
Should caps be put on extreams? ie... wookies with lekkue
If there is an out pouring of support or non support who know maybe a dev will read this post and make a decesion wither way. One cam only hope lol
How image designers feel about the matter, if you're concerned, is all over this board, front page. The debate is still going on. Feel free to add your opinion to the ongoing debates about this matter.
(P.S. the search key and/or browsing posts is your friend)
arent you the sweetiest think since salt, *cheek kiss
I dont know what i would do with out your vast knowelege and insite
I think im the most bitter, but from a different stand point now..im just bitter at Image Design in General and how everyone acts as a result of this stupid bug..
p.s. - N'jessi is still cute when bitter ![]()
It's not even this issue - what honestly makes me annoyed is when an issue has been discussed ad nauseum in a forum (and this happens in *every* forum) and is still on the front page - and someone starts a new thread about it (as if that person has suddenly discovered a new insight into a topic that we, the community, had never thought to address) rather than reading what is already there and adding to it. I feel like we're reinventing the wheel every few days - of the issues on the front page of this forum, probably 1/4 deal with this exploit, or questions about the exploit, or how people feel about the exploit... and if not that, how to grind.
The sooner this is fixed, the better.
ME CRANKY!
How about we all run over to the TKA forum and tell them that they are "sissy" and "effeminate" and that their profession is stupid and uselessbecause pets can "tank" better.
Disease lasts too long? That's not a bug. Doesn't affect *my* profession. Who cares?
