I am not calling for a complete boycott, just one on the Master ID's singing praise of the new xp system. They gain more from this change than any, so in my opinion their opinion is moot, as they have a big conflict of interest commenting on a change that will make them rich on a profession many got in 2 hours, and that costs nothing to produce the stat migrations in terms of materiels.
SOE has dumped this on those trying to level ID, those who are not yet masters, THOSE WHO DID NOT USE THE EXPLOIT!! I am in this number. I was 4/3/0/0 in ID at the time of the patch, and I was not exploiting, if I knew how to exploit it and knew they were about to gimp the xp gain I might have pursued it, but in the end I did not. I have since dropped it, and I refuse to have anything to do with an master ID now, as I doubt any had to grind over 70 hours non-stop to mster.
SOE seems intent on keeping the timer, and the low xp per session, if so fine, I will not leave the game, I will just leave the ID profession alone. In time the fact of the slow xp, with the timers, and the boring nature of the profession will make this a thinly populated profession. It will work itself out, if SOE is too stupid to do the math for themselves, to see to it that their stated goal of mastery in one month for the casual gamer is reality, then help them to see it, stop helping these selfish masters get rich while they watch novice ID struggle to fill one skill box per night, all the while taunting them on these forums for not exploiting it.
If you are inclined, help me in this on your servers, rise up in vocal protest of this too-harsh reaction to a problem SOE created. Protest their punishment of those who did NOT use the exploit. Protest their unwillingness to listen to those on the test server, or to those on this, their own feedback forum. Let them see your disdain for the change in a overall reduction in ID activity, and perhaps a start to master ID's whining that they have lost out on customers.
And enjoy the rest of a very nice game

You're calling for a boycott of those who think the current xp gain is just fine. I don't know of ANY who post here that do. You're preaching to the choir here, and what's more, you're doing it in a rude and hateful manner. So on behalf of all MID's here (who think the xp gain stinks, just as you do) we invite you to find another forum to troll.

*claps* Way to go FuschiaD!!
As she said, you're talking to people who already agree with you. I do have some parts of the new change that I like I too think the XP system is ridiculous and has to be changed, it takes far to long for people to become IDers now.

Please forgive me, this isn't meant to be a flame, but I am just trying to clarify what you're saying here...anyone who is a master ID got that way by using exploits? And because someone happened to master ID before the new XP system, they should be boycotted? And that master ID'ers are selfish and laugh at up-and-comers?
I hope that is not what you are saying, but it sure looks like it. I happen to be a master ID who took several months of regular play to get there, and never used any kind of exploit. I gladly help out people who are not as high in the profession as I am because I know how hard it is to get there - it was hard before, and it's even harder now.

I've mastered four times, and not once have I ever used an exploit of any kind.

I've only seen one MID claim that skillgain is fine as-is. The rest of us hate the new system as much as those folks trying to level under it. As far as moot opinions go, wouldn't you say that boycotting MIDs would benefit you, a fledgeling ID? I'd say that's a pretty big conflict of interests, and by your own logic makes your opinion moot.

What exploit? You mean using brandy and canapes to negate mind cost? That's not an exploit, and many of us mastered before the chef revamp when these items didn't exist. I know I did—my first time. My second time…well, I lack the AP to master, but I ground through to 4-4-4-4 ID entirely under the new XP gain system. It took me about 70 hours of grinding using my alt to accept and sitting in a tent the whole time. It stunk. A lot. I hated every second of it. But I love ID enough to have done it.
SOE seems intent on keeping the timer, and the low xp per session, if so fine, I will not leave the game, I will just leave the ID profession alone. I sense much anger in you. That is the path to the darkside. Or is it that you're mad at yourself for not using an "exploit" and trying to justify being too lazy and cheap master when you had the chance? You know, you still could master if you took the time. Personally, I'd wait for XP to be tweaked—don't be stupidly insane like me. But eh, whatever.

Yeah, real great idea. Let's see…SOE creates a problem. SOE goes overboard in correcting. What should we do? I know! Let's grief other players, because obviously they have control over it. How about this: why don't you try reading our responses to the XP gain issue, get it through your head that all but 1 of us hate this system, and try trolling some other forum.
And enjoy the rest of a very nice game

Question...How do you boycott a master ID who is already boycotting you first ???
As the others have said, you're barking up the wrong tree...go take your boycott to the devs forums where it belongs & where it mightactually do somegood.
As for me, your boycott is pointless because I've already made the decision not to ID anyone other than my own chars until this whole mess is fixed.

Again, I'm gonna have to agree with my forum-mates.
when I mastered ID there was no 'exploit' to it.A straight week, even under my normally extended play times. To say we 'exploited' is wrong. To say we are 'taunting' those who aren't master yet is even worse.
What, did some MID on your server walk into the tent while you were grinding and take your jobs? Sorry to hear that. Don't blame us. I've sent several of my normal clients to the tents on the pretense that if a Novice could do it a Novice should do it.
Considering I'm in a bad mood now, I'll stop here. I'm not s'posed to get angry.. so.. just.. leave. Before you cause trouble.

IMO the xp system is STILL NOT hard enough.
It's not at ALL hard. What it IS, though,is a time sink the likes of which had not yet been seen in SWG compiled together with an impossibility to get customers when you have nothing to offer them.
NOT that I had anyone to sell junk armor to when I was doing armorsmith. Not that up-n-coming weaponsmiths have anyone to sell wood staves and CDEF pistols to. But with those professions you can at least keep doing the crafting and throwing away the results.
With ID, you have to take TWICE as long if you can't find a customer. With crafting professions, you can 'practice' when you don't have customers and actually do it a little quicker.
So, let me ask you this... Would you drop all ID and re-master it again now? I did it the first time without food and spices and that took quite long enough. If I lose ID now, I'm not coming back. I pay to play this game to have fun, not to stare at a blue screen. If I wanted that, I'd install WinME.

China, I think you are in the minority. Most Masters disagree with you and for reasons which have nothing to do with being masters, but have everything to do with the long term health of our profession and empathy for those trying to master it now.

Minority, myfoot.I'm pretty sure China is the SOLE person I've seen who not only thinks the current xp gain is just fine, but would actually like to see it made even HARDER. China, if you really think that, I encourage you to drop and remaster ID under the current xp gain, and THEN tell us what you think.
