Thread: Join me in a master level boycott of the Image Design Profession
I actually find it amusing that people are complaining about how fast it previously was for ID's to master. Sure I have sympathy for those that truly want to be ID's having a near impossible time at it now.
However, one of the problems with the profession before was that most people thought of it as a complete joke. Many, many only doingtrying IDbecause they were hologring. ID was aprofession you could master in 2 hours with a good script , fool around with for a bit and drop because quite frankily it didn't have many advantages for keeping it to anyone that didn't just have fun with it.
Now that they've change it, and there is a moderate amount of appeal to the profession, people are complaining that those of us who did it for the love of it and held onto our ID master while the rest of you just threw it away got off easy.
funny if you ask me.
As an aside, I think it would be great if ID masters could buy/rent or make a tent so that we could put them up in our various towns around the galaxy.

If anyone is flaming you, it is more with a Bic lighter than a blowtorch. Everyone (except for China or whatever) agrees with you more than they disagree with you. Many of us don't like the timer & xp problem any more than you do. Andeven thougha lot of us are masters already, we'restill concerned about what is happening to those on their way.
Many of us who are masters already hide that fact so we're not harassed with nonstop tells. Wewant more novices to make it just as much as you do so there are more of us to share the load. I've done my share of 8 hour ID shifts with lines of customers crossing the cantina floor, & I really don't want that to get even worse for existing masters any more than you want to spend the endless mindnumbing hours grinding out ID boxes & falling asleep at the keyboard from boredom.
The fact is these changesare bad for ID's on both sides of the master tag, & we all need to realize how it affects those on the other end & pull together instead of letting our frustration get the better of us.

With as much as we hide, maybe some ID Visibility counter should implemented, and we can show up on BH terminals. Not to kill of course, just to get service done.

It's quite true that alot of Master ID hide their title and function. For exactly what ToppDogg said.
We want the other IDs to be asked for whatever help they can provide. It's also largely the reason Stat Migration is available at Novice I believe. Gives the non-Masters a chance to "hook" customers, and tell them what changes they can do and generally increase awareness!! Of course, that's far too optimistic

Actually Bri, Iwas in factthinking boycott. Unpopular thought I guess, but my idea was that the masters, being masters and prolly vets in the game could survive a little less buiz, the novice ID's would reap the benefit of a little more buiz, and perhaps the devs might notice if not a reduction in overal ID action, might notice if the few masters that seem keen on the new system might mention on one of these forums that it was hurting their buiz, and their enjoyment of the game. Perhaps rude to suggest griefing players, that was not my sole intent, if only partialy intending grief isany better
I intended the thread to give us another post to discuss our feelings on it, and hoped to create one with more novices chiming in, and fewer masters singing praise to the devs and doom to the holo grinders out there.
I of course also fostered hope that real change could be seen in the time before the jedi revamp changes the path to jedi, as my fourth holo was ID. Of course I now think SOE will prolly hot fix it after they change the jedi system, I am content now to move on with the trades I wanted to play when I got back into this game, perhaps then gimping ID xp was a good thing then, for my enjoyment. But still I think unfair to those still trying to master, but that was a post from an earlier day

I do not advocate boycotting anyone. The game has enough problems without intentionally giving other players a hard time.

Just because you are angry with SOE, there is no point in taking it out on players through a boycott. That's just... Wrong.
And it won't result in anything at all, really.
