How about this: In Ultima Online, Tamers used to be able to power level up really fast alot the same way as this, as well as treasure hunters' lock pickign skill could be power leveld like this as well. What OSI did was implemented a 'dont tame that same' or 'dont pick that same' etc. You could only gain experience off any given animal or locked container once. AFter that you could re tame or re lock adn unlock all you like and you got no gains but you could still do it.

now how this would correlate here would be you coudl, say, change eye color once and gain the xp off that, but if you change eye color again (for maybe a period of 2 hours maybe?) you dont gain again off that person for that particular change. Now you could possibly change other things about that person and go through a full body makeover for example and it'd still let you gain - once - from each type of change.

Sound better?

I really don't post much, but it seems to me (after reading through several threads) that it is only a small group of people who are out to crucify the correspondent. Granted, it is annoying to not be heard and it is annoying not to be said sorry to, but personally attacking someone for not being on the forums often enough because she had a personal emergency seems immature, stupid, and a waste of time. This is just a game, not a way of life.

As for the ID profession... I would love to see more Zabrak Tattoos... perhaps more feminine ones? Or maybe even customizable tattoos. That would be super.

I am possibly guilty of that.

And I do agree that if you don't grind, getting through Image Designer is lengthy and frustrating to get through.

I do feel that something needs to be done to slow down the rate of 'grinding' experience for Image Designer, hopefully in a way that wouldn't hinder those who are more 'casual' about advancing through the profession.

Don't get me wrong, I grind. Endlessly it seems

An additional ability I would like to see is "register." I think an image designer should be able to register on the global map his or her home or a town cantina. After all, merchants who aren't even master can register on the planetary map. A musican or dancer can register at the cantina. Image designers should be able to do so as well. Often my customers have been looking for a designer for a while, but cannot find one other than by word of mouth.

On a related note, I've been requesting that Image Designer-Merchants (and there are tons of us of course ) be able to have an Image Designer section on the "vendors" section of the global map, and have a way to list services on a vendor. The second goes for advertising any service really, it would be so nice to have some paper graphic to put a price list on.

For me, the important thing is to fix the Bugs, then look at stuff on the wishlist, but I also realize that bugs and wishlist stuff are not mutually exclusive in design time , so it's easier to do two seperate lists.

Bugs:
#1) The exploits for 'different species options'. This in itself hinders the legitimate Image Designers, since often you'll find folks asking for image changes that are possible if someone uses the exploit, but even the Master Image Designer cannot perform legitimately. It also further devalues advancement through some of the Skill Trees.

#2) The Image Design Crash/LD + locking your client out of Image Design options until a full log out/server reset. This directly impedes our ability to actually 'peddle our wares', and it frustrates the clients.

#3) Missing Options (this should honestly just be a single item), that and I'm not sure what's missing now. Just the items missing from Character Creation. (Include the lack of baldness here, or if not, as 3a ).

#4) Options/sliders autosetting to 0. This can be a borderline exploit as well as it facilitates the ID making changes on a client without the client having a choice in the matter. It's also damaging to client confidence in our services.

#5) Hair color not updating. This is purely a cosmetic issue, although it is frustrating and also makes some changes difficult for matching hair and eyebrow colors, as well as actually determining if certain other color options (eye and skin come to mind) actually look good (to the Image Designer).

Also as a note, I have difficulty seeing the headwrap issue as a bug, except of course, the situations where it results in a double-lekku. I think it is appropiate for the headwraps to 'overwrite' lekku, just as Helmets do hair.

Wishlist:
#1) A means to actually propose a multitude of changes to a client at one time as well allow said changes to be 'queued up' for application to the client. This is mostly to make full body and/or full face work alot easier for the Image Designer and to reduce clicking in general.

#2) A means to 'remember' your last proposed change to a specific client so it's easier to adjust traits ala "A little smaller" (note, pure convienance now thanks to slider numbers).

#3) More unique (Non-Char-Gen) options, specifically in other skill trees than Hair Style. Well that actually pretty much covers anything in actual new options. More specifically 'normal' options (as opposed to costume makeup).

#4) Some 'short term' makeup that provides bonuses to certain skill chains (Dance, Musician, Camoflauge/Mask Scent), but not so much as to compete with the Bio Engineers clothes.

Here's my contribution

Bugs

  1. When changing hairstyle or color, it shows up as the default color to everyone else (including the designer), until the customer times completely out of the server.

  2. Cross-species hairstyles (this bug has been under heavy investigation by myself and the developers lately, and a fix is on the way); Also the ability to get access to skills you don't qualify for

  3. Some sliders will automatically set to zero when the option to change that feature is selected - even if the player has a higher value (for example, we open the slider to alter cheeks, and suddenly the person has none, and the slider shows 0)

  4. Players are still getting stuck with "... already has an outstanding image design offer" if they crash while being worked on (also if someone misses an accept due to heavy lag, being afk, or a too closely spaced macro)

  5. Eye shape can not be altered. The current "eye shape" option on the menu is tied into eye angle, instead.

  6. Baldness is an option during character creation, but not with the ID skill.

  7. Headwraps cancel out many styles on some species, such as lekku positions on twi'leks (tailor art issue?)

Wish-List

  1. Body Tattoos - Types and locations that have been suggested: Ankles, wrists, hands, calf, lower back, upper back, upper arm, lower arm, tummy, chest.Types: Swirls & spikes, nature objects (corellian butterfly, flower, etc), rebel/imperial insignia

  2. More hair colors (including un-natural hair colors).

  3. "All hair" styles for zabrak females; pigtails as seen in an old screenshot floating around

  4. More hair styles (including more from Episodes 1 and 2) Hairstyles that have been suggested - Females - Princess Leia and Queen Amidala styles from the movies; 38th female human style w/out the hair in the face; VERY long hair; More long and shoulder-length hairstyles in general; Long mid-back ponytail; More with accessories (beads, barettes, ribbons); More braided styles; Short & curly; Slicked back; Bob; Messy hair; Long/short spiral curls. Males - Long dreadlocks; More long/medium hairstyles; Spiky and messy styles.

  5. A "pay for services as rendered" option. A secure way to offer the style, but not actually complete the design until payment is given.

  6. Hip/Rump adjustments.

  7. More skin-colors and/or "body paint".

  8. Scars, bruises, and other "battle signs".

  9. Image Design vendors (the ability to sell a wig or lipstick, for example) - Wigs are always shot down as hairstyles are a great source of business, lipstick and eyeshadow have been controversial

  10. More facial hair styles.

  11. Metallic shades (this sounds neat, are we talking makeup? If so dramatic eyeshadow comes up a lot).

  12. Ability to alter horns and hair independently for zabraks

My suggested additions (from ID forum and Art Team: What Women Want thread wishing)

There are really a ton we could add of course and I understand they prob only want to see a few now, but for what it's worth, here's 12 of the ones I've collected that we've been wishing for, not in the current Sotp. Art is the only thing we're about, and the only way to enhance our profession. For many of us that pay our $15 a month, ID art content IS our game And our skills benefit all

  1. More of everything we have available now: markings patterns & colors, eye colors come up often.

  2. Blush and eyeliner

  3. Fur shaving for bothans, wookiees

  4. More lekku arrangments - on head, pigtail style have been mentioned; Ability to make lekku skinnier

  5. More ridge styles, particularly dramatic ones

  6. Beauty salon building equivalent to player city cantina or merchant tent; Ability to advertise business on global map.

  7. User Interface - Numbers in the corner of each hairstyle.

  8. User Interface - Improved view of customer's face - Better lighting, Character-creation-like view, Ability to get customer's head to hold still

  9. Muscles/height beyond char creation limits

  10. Ability to Image Design merchant vendors

  11. Extended palettes for makeup - esp. more shades of pink, peach, red

  12. Wookiee hair braiding - very frequent request, apparently there are art team concept sketches of this; additionally female wookiees have requested pigtails.

My suggested subtractions...

The following would certainly allow for more individuality but are low priority on my list because I've never had a customer request them and they seem as though they would take a long time to implement, I would love to see them in the future though

  1. Eye spacing adjustments

  2. Forehead angle/Brow protrusion

  3. Shoulder-width adjustments

  4. Head size and head height adjustment

  5. The ability to change eye depth.

  6. Facial-weight adjustment (the ability to give double chins and/or sagging cheeks - I think this would be very underused but I may be wrong; what has been most requested is the ability to add facial weight to females whose faces stay the same shape regardless of body weight).

Possiblesubtraction?

  • "Pet dye" - The ability to change the color of pets, within reason - Some controversy over whether bio-engineers should get this

The ones I'm personally not fond of

  1. The ability to do some special "costume make-up" (such as making someone look like a zombie with sunken-in eyes, and ghost-white skin) - I'm not fond of this one, sounds like a Halloween request?

  2. A "customer-side menu" allowing the customer to see all available selections for the feature they want changed - I don't want the customer to be able to see everything I can do, cuts out roleplay potential and reduces us to npc vendors in my opinion.

Since this was the thread created for discussion, I want to go ahead and get everyone to "prioritize" the list ofbugs and the wishlist. Copy the list you see here, and rearrange it in the order ofimportance (most-annoying or most-desiredissues at the top).

I want to give it at least a week to get as many submissions as possible, but I will be gone for the American Thanksgiving. So once I get back, I will average out the numbers and post an up-to-date State of the Profession thread.
