Thread: ID User Interface

It actually didn't occur to me that our bugs might have any relation to the UI so I didn't include them. I figured that would be more Rilawyn's domain with the bug-fixing devs. Here they are just in case they are UI related.

- Mon Cal lip size

- Eye shape missing - "eye shape" does "eye angle", there is no eye shape at all

- Mon Cal Torso (they are still flat chested since the default, they used to have a little bust)

- Trandoshan mouth size

- Twi'lek ears

- Cannot make someone bald

- Male freckles

- Giving markings to someone that chose no markings in character creation

- Twi'lek eyebrows

- Female Rodian Hair color

- Rodian clasp color, Bothan male hair accessory color

- Hair defaults to brown/orange (depending on species), horns to brown upon a hairstyle change, back to normal after person relogs. Hair color changes are not visible to others until person relogs.

- At seemingly random times, options such as height, jaw, mouth size default to zero, and remain that way even if the client hits "decline". There is no way to find what they had previously.

- Male torso

Hello,

I'm surprised no one mentioned this yet. Or may of, I started skimming after the second page. My biggest request after tatoos and crazy hair colors is someone asking their friend, 'What do you think?' And of course they can't see it. How about having the changes veiwable by all before they hit accept. I can't think of why any reason this could be bad or not implemented.

Alright, I don't have time to read all of these (sorry for any repeats)
1. Total body changed view-- I want to be able to select a bunch of changes, then show the full change (like changing someones face around (nose + eyes + mouth all changed at once))
2. Compare multiple settings-- Show them two hairstyles at once, and have them pick the better, then replace the unchosen style with a third, repeat
3. Secure trade!!!!!! If #1 is implememted, then when you hit accept, the money is exchanged. Simple as that
4. The obvious bugs fixed (freckles, eyebrows etc.)

That's all I can think of in my short time available today. I may add more later.

Most things we can see on the person as we change them. Hair, however, we cannot. We just get little tiny rotating icons that are very hard to see. Would be nice if when we clicked on one we saw that person with that hairstyle instead of having to have them accept it for us to see it on them.

Hey, while were at it, I got a few suggestions for the Image Designer.

1. Tattoos for ALL races. You other Image Designers know what I'm talking about, requests from people to get a tattoo. Especially with the "Tattoo Artist" title up.

2. For the above: if there would be a way to design things. Like actually DRAW tattoo's, and still keep the lag as low as possible, that would be awesome. Like to draw and select colors using a in game paint program sorta thing.

3.To have more customization on all things. The name "Image Design" isnt really true. It should be more like "Redo Character Customization" or something... lol.

4.Not a suggestion really, but fix the bug where no one can see the haircolor change until you relog.

5.Like it has been said before. Shoulder width, hips, mongrel eyes, scars... all of those are great suggestions.

6.We need a pay system.

Those are all I can think of for now. If i think of any more I'll tell ya.

gone on for too long with absolutely no worthwhile changes. adding number values to sliders and panels in a window are all well and good...but the 5 minute code job is pretty lame nonetheless.

whats planned for this profession, cause...if i dont find out where this is all going, image design skills are going bye-bye.

Dunno if this thread's still going or if suggestions are still wanted, but what the heck.

What I would love to see if a windows with 3 sections.

The left-most panel contains a line of tabs along the top, for things like hair, body, face, markings. Click on one of these and a set of sliders and palettes (or buttons to access them) appears related to the group and what the ID can do. The ID can swap between the different tabs to make different changes. By each control a reset button would return the control to where it was when the ID session started.

For the mind cost, maybe have a box at the bottom showing the total cost for all the changes and the available mind points available.

The next panel would be split into two sections, but basically shows the client at the start of the session. The top part would be a rotating head image, which could be turned to get different views. The bottom part would be a full-body view. It would be great if the lighting could appear in the same way as getting the info window on a player on NPC does.

The third panel would be what the client would look like with the changes accepted. Again, this would have a head and full body area.

For ID artists who charge an area where they can specify their fee would be good too.

For the client, it would be great if they could get the second and third panels so that they can get a before and after version of what they look like. As the ID changes settings, the client sees the after panel change too. If the ID charges, then an area to put their payment in would be handy. Possibly allow the client to enter a higher number, so that they can add a little extra on as a tip - handy for when the ID just relies on tips.

So, what do you think? (About the interface idea for IDs, not about how every other profession in the game should be touched before a dev even thinks about looking at such a '**edit**' profession. Jeez, just because we don't use a gun to alter people's appearances...)

Oops, never mind. I keep looking at the registered dates rather then the posting dates
