Umm.. I have a question TH. You say that it's a HD space issue.

I was under the impression that all the artwork & models were maintained client-side, and then just indexed in network traffic. Take a basic static model, apply a few scaling parameters for body weight/height/etc, and display it. Are you saying that most of the polygonal geometry data is actually maintained server-side, and transmitted per-poly ?

If that's the case, then wow... No wonder Coronet takes so long to load, and no wonder my computer "hiccups" when I drive from the wilderness into a big city.

On the bright side, we've been able to put a lot of "ID infrastructure" in, so if the particle effects that are in the game turn out well, we will be able to add things like this for the future. In any event, what I would expect is more of a temporary thing (which is actually better for IDs in the long run anyway). That is to say, get a particle effect from an ID, go play with it for a few hours and then *poof* and if you want another, then you will have to go visit an ID and get another one

Wow! Great News! Thank You

Party! Party! Party! Party! Party! Party! Party! Party!

How about Body Paints will they also be be temporary?

Why you think the temporary nature is something to be so excited about?

Like I just posted "Hair accessories" will mainly be Party IDs, not something you want when going hunting. So if you are going to a party and get glitter effect you will not need to find an IDer after the party to undo it. Plus it will mean more bussiness I should add I do not wish for nature colors and styles to be temporary, just the wild stuff.

I dont know if this has been asked before, sorry if it has.

Please can you give image designers the option to make people bald. I was bald and a Master ID friend was experimenting with hairstyles on me, unknown to us both that evena Master Image Designer doesnt know how to cut people hair completly off. Now I am stuck with hair that doesnt suit my character at all. Would a CSR be able to change this? i doubt it but im very very annoyed.

I started to post a reply to your previous message saying you had answered my question. If these are going to be 'special event' type things (ie, not something you expect to be permanent, like say, painting your ride or something), one wouldn't expect them to be permanent. I guess I'm still smarting from the way vehicle customization kits were implemented.

With your comment about keeping all the stuff client side, sure we could do that with a lot of things, but players are very conscientious about space on their hard drive. As games get bigger and bigger and take up more and more space, the choice about what gets pushed to the client becomes very important - - especially with a persistent world game. We have to minimize the data we push to the client so SWG doesnt eat up your hard drive...

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE USE MY HARD DRIVE!!

Hard drives are getting bigger and bigger. My computer is a year old and it came with 120 gigs.

Most of the "Lag" in this game is because you do not leave enough things on our hard drive. Please, use more space! Especially on things that never change.

BTW are any of the hair 'attachments' coming thru ID manly? lol Or are you just playing towards females characters?

Thunderheart, please say Bothans will FINALLY get our sideburns/beards! They are in the official screenshots, and all concept art, but NOT in game! Bothans are already weak as it is, but this would make things so much better

Plus, we look really cool with em, at least in the art and sceenies.

I'd like to see us Bothans be able to wear the Stormtrooper, AT-AT, TIE, and RIS helmets. How much ya wanna bet we get shafted on Mandolorian armor, too?

TH, if possible can you work out at least one "balding" Imperial Haircut and one female haircut in addition to the young spry officer cut? Maybe that's too much to ask...

I'll second this. Create two male and two female styles that are flagged as "Military haircuts" in the interface. That way if later on assets are added for other military uniform caps, such as to tailor schematics or quests, the haircuts would already be there.

No, I have not forgotten, and Im bringing it up again with the devs on Monday

Its not an entirely "simple" thing though. You see, on your avatars heads, there is a hairline along theskull about 3/4's of the way downand we can't just let the Imperial hats be worn by anyone because ofthe way hats work. Most of the hats in the game are big hats. They are big hats because they have to cover that hairline, otherwise, you'd put a hat on and there would be a spot on your head like someone shaved a big bald spot there. Furthermore, aliens can't have the hat because the hat is so small that there has to be some hair attached to it to cover the bald spot in question, so an alien would put on the hat and their would be this weird patch of hair hanging from the bottom of the hat.

The trade off is that Im working with the team to make it so that humans can go to an Image designer and get "an imperial haircut" and then they can wear the hat. That would take care of all the art concerns.

Thunderheart what about if your avatar is bald?Would the few bald people who were lucky enough to not change their hairdo and not be able to go back to bald have to get this Imperial haircut to wear the hat also.

This is desperately needed I would say to appease some long standing GCW complaints. As far as minor issues this Hat, and displayable rank in your name while overt are the two of the oldest and most vocally called for non major issues, I certainly would like to be rid of them.

I would ask that ... Bald be an option for the military style hair cut. If possible Humans and maybe Zabraks might be canidates, especially if you have Bald as one of the options.

I figure since you said the problem is there would be a bald patch, why not have a Bald Haircut as an option.

Are there new hairstyles coming, too?

In particular, andy dredlocks? I've been wanting to get some long dredlocks (not those cornrows). Also, males need some long hair that doesn't look like a long mullet.

Let people be made bigger and smaller. More Variation is needed in terms of height.
