Who's brillant idea was it to totally change the XP gain?! Ok the timer is alright, but the exp should stack!! It takes over an HOUR just to get ID II. Does anyone else see the problem with this? I mean I thought they wanted people to try Image Designer, not make it hell to get to master.
With respect, most elite professions take at least an hour to get a second level box. I know this seems bad but ID's had the grind easy for so long it was ridiculous. You cant have it both ways, have a valued profession where people will seek you out and one that can be ground in 30 mins.
ID should be better when the novelty wears off and people drop it as people who are doing it seriously will be searched for and respected (ish).
ID2 is one of the Entertainer-level boxes—It takes about 2:46:40 to get any of the level 2 elite boxes.
Come the end of the hologrind, people will have to choose professions they will like, im all for it taking some time to master proffesions, more people leave the game because there bored of the grind than enything else.
I could, but I didn't feel like rounding the decimals to figure out exactly how many sessions, I just based the number on the assumption that you could get a partial session's XP.

About 2:46:40 cant you be more accurate.
Thats still not that bad, and in line with the other entertainer careers. Thank god Soe are finally making some of the game a challenge. They never intended people to grind as fast as possible, but to take there time and enjoy the game.

Its all about making the path a challenge so there is a sense of accomplishment. If ID takes 2 weeks, or a month casually then good, and dont worry i'd imagine that most proffs will take longer to master following revamps.

As to it being in-line with other professions…in the span of a 3 hour buff I qualified for a tier 3, tier 4, tier 1, and tier 2 Swordsman skills. Meanwhile, in the same amount of time, under the best conditions, I can only qualify for a single tier 2 ID skill. I agree that mastering in half an hour as was possible before was ridiculous, but this is equally ridiculous.
Yes but the idea is when hologrinding goes (and its just around the corner) people will enjoy their proffs, At least with id everything you do is useful to someone. Worse is weaponsmith where none of your products are salable till master, and it costs youll hundreds of thousands of resources.
I would be more than happy if a level 2 box took 2:40 for every profession, I remember playing eq where it would take days and weeks to get to the next level. People are thrilled by accomplishment along the journey as well as the destination.
And after all I watch musician exp go up ever so slowly. I think that the timings are comparable to music and dancer.

Hoo boy…not even remotely close to the truth. I'd go through what the falacies of this statement are, but instead I'll just suggest you read my very early posts in this forum—note how many times I cite that noone wants the services I have to offer when discussing skillgain time. Really though, I remember quite well my pre-master days, and I remember how useless I felt trying to work with clients. As things stand now non-masters are in equally as bad of a position as I was, only now they're not only limited by the fact that customers don't want the services they have to offer, but finding willing victims is less likely because of the **self-edit** timers.

Yeah, what he said. And if you look in my sig you get a running count of my customers. Keep in mind that I ground up the Entertainer tree, but I have not and will not grind ID. For working on other people discounting stat migrations and grindingI have recieved at most 1800 exp at 300 exp a session. The profession needs some reorganisation to give the Novices ( and also just as importantly the Entertainers ) a chance.

Musician really does take just as long, so it will take 8 hours of gameplay to hit master........good, it means you wont finish the game and grow bored as quickly.
Musician can and is 100% AFK'd. There's no comparison.

You got...tons of new skin colors. If you'd like to see them, I have a large chart on my website here: http://taalei.homestead.com/trandoshan.html
Also, I believe, more eye colors.

Thanks for the link, but I wouldn't say tons of new colors.
The humanoids still got more of an array and variety than trandoshans did.
Just give me black or gray! Maybe a couple good ridge styles would be nice too. All I see is minute variations of what there is with everything, nothing new.
