Thread: ID Enhancements...
This is like complaining that only droid eng's can only make droids, and only armorsmiths can make good armor.
As far as Doctors doing stat migration. As a former Master Doc myself, Doctors are swamped as it is with buffing, healing, curing and keeping you guys alive. The LAST thing Docs need is MORE /tells.
The stat migration for IDers is a good idea for one reason. It makes us who enjoy the IDing profession more usefull.
Instead of taking away the player bases ability to migrate their own stats why not just add good incentives to make people want to have an ID do the migration? Here is my idea:
1) Leave players ability to migrate there stats the way it was.
2) Give IDs the ability to migrate stats beyond racial limits.
3) Allow IDs migration to take affect instantly.
I think this would be a better change. As a trando I have always wanted to be able to bring my Health sub-stats down lower than my race will allow and use the points to bring my Action sub-stats up beyond my Trando limits. I think this would give an excelent reason for people to seek out an ID for stat migration without taking allof the player bases ability to tweek there own stats.
I would most certanly seek out an ID if they could make my Trandoes strength go down to 550 and use the points to make his quickness and stamina go up to 500.

I see whatyou mean, but this was a game feature available to all sincelaunch. Now, it's essentially being removedfor 97% of the player base (31/32 professions). I don't change my stats every day, but I do it from time to time.
Call me selfish, but I like the fact I can control my own stats without relying on another person. I'm sure there are other features ID's can get or can push forwithout having to take something away from everyone else.

Its not taking away from anything. Its just moving it. I play ahazi and when the publish comes outI will be MORE then glad to sit and help people change stats. Like Docs sit and change stats. And Chefs help change stats. And Tailors/Bio eng help change things. lol Point made?
I hate to do this to a fellow ID, but. In my view you couldn't be more wrong. This is very much a nerf to every player who isn't an ID. All the other professions you've listed provide temorary stat modifications. We're talking about permanance here, and I don't want to see us become the only way to do it. I know I'm not alone in this, nor do I think I'm even in the minority. This is a terrible idea and I hope to god it never makes it past TC.

If this stat migration change allowed IDs to offer an instant change, that would be good value and a premium service many would use. Those of us who are finicky about our stats might then make the fine adjustments by ourselves and incrementally so with experimentation. The new system is way too personally invasive. I doubt not many players consider their substat values a tactical matter, and not to be shared with other players. Finally, what good is there in empowering a single, small, group of players by disempowering all the rest?

That's a matter of perspective.. I'll no longer be able to self-change my stats, so...yeah I'm thinking that ability will be taken away from me..
As for the chef/BE argument, that's a bit outside the scope of this argument, since those are game-crafted items, not game interface options (unless someone didn't tell me lol)
You mean like giving people with medic skills the only ones able to heal?

Medics have always been the sole class with healing abilities. As the ability has never been granted to everyone, there is nothing to take away.
