Personally I'm glad the profession can be mastered in a short time. It is an extremely fun one, but the fun only started for me after I mastered it. I mastered in a day a few weeks ago, and I'm still enjoying it a lot and don't think I'll drop it any time soon.

Hello happy people, glad to see the unity recent changes and the CU are making have crossed almost all the professions now (yes, thats a joke). I tent to haunt the Wanderhome and ranger forums mostly, but I was a IDer in ages past and try to read up on one of my old favs from time to time. Anyways, thoughts and opinions...everyone has them, everyone uses them, few are actually helpful. So....here's mine.
Timer went away: They took awaythe featurethey put in to try and fix ID (which failed quite well I think). So? Time it takes to master (or get whatever skill combo your after) doesn't take away from the fact that the profession lacks content and appeal. Master in a month, master in an hour. End of the day, your still a master of a profession that the devs have made almost useless and void of interest to all but a few.
"Masters, masters everywhere! See! They took my business!": FOTM. Its a shock effect. Timer went away so they mastered. They'll get bored and move on to something else. Happens all the time, just wait it out.
"I've been playing this profession longer, I know whats good for you": Umm, no. You understand your profession's abilities, talents, uses, and the impact new changes will have on the profession better based on your long experience in the profession, yes. Does this mean what you think is right is actually right? Sorry, no. You have many valid thoughts and in the past you were right, very true. But acting high-and-mighty and posting with the little attitude we got going on in the end results in: Your useful ideas and opinions being ignored or twisted by the masses and your negative thoughts and opinions being focused on and blown out of proportion. You know what you are and what you did, thats enough. If you cause the others to hate you with your posting behavior, you won't be helping or improving your beloved profession. You will be ignored, hated, ect ect ect. Not against you personally, simply sharing my forumexperience with someone who values experience and dedication.
"Shut up! Just cause you've been around since before yoda was born doesn't mean you're right all the time!": CORRECT. No one is right 100% of the time, very good. But they do have experience and knowledge of the profession. If you can ignore and look past the negative parts of their posts, there is useful and constructive info from time to time the community could benefit from. Its up to you what you focus on: the negative or the positive?
And with my opinions/thoughts shared, I wave happily to current and past IDers, wishing you well and hope for a brighter future for us all after the CU. For IDers, for rangers, for all professions.Hope you have pleasent travels, interesting adventuresand remember to enjoy the $15 you pay each month, if not...why are you paying $15 a month?
