Have you been paying attention to what's happened throughout this minipublish prep time?

Yes. I was here thewhole time the revamp wasdiscussed. Just like you.

They gave us a set of proposed changes we liked, then, without word or warning, scrapped half of them for some innane holo-emotes none of us are too keen on. THEN they took a suggestion that we quite clearly stated we DID NOT want to be the only way for stat migration and made it the only way. We've talked and talked and talked, and produced some of the best, most articulate, and most balanced player suggestion I've ever seen—and this is what we get for it. The time for talk is over. We've said our piece and been ignored. I see no point in continuing to be nice or accepting whatever handouts they're willing to give us. Time to find a profession that's already been changed so I don't have to worry about it being ruined for another 6 months.

I never said we had to be nice anymore. For all I care we could all become whiners like the Jedi, if that's what it takes to get stuff done. But to just say **edit** it and throw it all out the window ain't gonna get nothing done, ya hear?

AS LONG AS, the stat migration is pretty much instant (<2 minutes)

I mean look at doctors, they can buff...IDers should be able to migrate stats.

I still think the user should be able to do it themselves...just at the long / incredibly long stat migration delay.

Master IDers will just make it happen much quicker for a small fee.

I agree with DarkCable on this one. I don't mind doing it quickly, but I don't want to be bothered about it all the time. Let everyone keep the long migration delay as well.

That was exactly what we asked for in our brainstorming sessions—that IDs be able to speed up migration, NOT that we be the ONLY way to do it. The lack of communication and the utter disregard by the devs for the community's wishes have pushed me beyond the breaking point on this one.

I too am seriously concerned about some of these changes. As soon as TC is up, however, I will be in game with my 4043 ID and I know several others who will be there with me testing away at this. We'll all try and get the straight facts back to you as soon as we can today. Everyone just take a deep breath and hold the panic until tonight after we have some hard info for everyone.

In case TH doesn't get back to this thread, let me briefly touch on the function of the tents (which we'll be able to play with on Test Center later today):

Time cut in half - There will be a new system to get ID experience (this will be tweaked until a casual player takes a month to master ID). There will be a minimum timer for each ID session (and multiple ID changes will be possible at once, yay!). This is very minimal (not sure if the times I was given some time ago are what ended up happening) and will be cut in half if you are a Master ID, and also cut in half if you are inside the tent, for a potential cut of 1/4 of the time if you are a Master in a tent.

I hate to sound negative, but isn't this information that shoudl have been out *weeks* ago? Right now everyone knows that if they are goiing to do image design to unlock their jedi slot they have 5 days to do it. That means that when all of the colors and effects become available, there will be a zillion holo-image designers to ID themselves and their friends and we won't get any benefit at all out of the "newness" of it. This really should have been announced far enough in advance that most people would grind ID and have dropped most of the skills to go onto something else.

Stat Migration - ID's will be the only way for stat migration to happen, and it will be possible only in a tent. Silly me, I'venever thoughtto ask if it will be instant, we should know soon. If i read this right... only an Image Designer will be able to make stats migrate when this goes live? I thought we had asked for increased stat migration by an Image Designer, not total dependance on one. So if I want to please all the people (so they dont cuss at me and send me nasty emails) ill have to travel to laggy Theed or Coronet (places i try to avoid) fight the lag so i can move their stats? Bleh. I see posts all the time on here where people ask "where's the starwars?" but now i need to ask, where's the Image Design?

Time cut in half - There will be a new system to get ID experience (this will be tweaked until a casual player takes a month to master ID). There will be a minimum timer for each ID session (and multiple ID changes will be possible at once, yay!). This is very minimal (not sure if the times I was given some time ago are what ended up happening) and will be cut in half if you are a Master ID, and also cut in half if you are inside the tent, for a potential cut of 1/4 of the time if you are a Master in a tent. Why is it not instant for a Master Image Designer? A Master Image Desginer already has the Xp she or he needs. I cant wait to hear the numbers from test center as far as how long it takes ID sessions to take now. Im going to have to wait to ID myself and if i want to do it faster, i have to go to laggy Coronet/Theed? Bleh.

Terminals - There will only be one terminal in the tent (our dev made this decision to give us more room in there and to prevent fighting over terminals). We will only have to stand in the tent to "use the terminal", not actually have one per customer/ID pair.

I'll dispense more detail later today (prob tonight)after I've had time to test some.

Where's the decreased mind cost? Its apparent that we will need these tents now, so I ask "Where is our droid module that lets us work where we want?"

Im sorry to sound so negative Kwee, even before I get to see this stuff. I was really looking forward to this stuff we were supposed to be getting and now we get skulls and kitties floating around our heads (i think the kitties are cute tho!) instead of glitter in our hair.

Your post isn't negative at all. I'm sorry if my terms have been confusing Under my definition there is room for both positive criticism (constructive) and negative criticism (emotional).

I was told there would probably be a lowered mind cost so that we would be able to do a lot of changes at once, but haven't been able to test it yet. I'll ask about the instant changes for MID's (since they don't need exp). Honestly *blush* it never occured to me to ask.

Now I can see THIS being a better idea....

Let players still be able to change their stats.

However.

Let image Designers be able to make the change imediate.

Last night I picked up pistoleer. And darned if I didn't have 300 hit points, eh? An imediate change would have been nice.

The hate will not exist as bad as it will *IF* players ability to change stats is *UNAFFECTED* ... and we are just given an ability to augment the stat change.

Otherwise, yes, this will be a new way for people to be cruel to us. (however... me... you be mean to me then you won't get work done. No biggie but why have the hassel, eh?)

I don't think it's too hard to adjust this little problem. Give the players back their original stat migration code. And make our stat code cause instant stat change (or in 5-10 minutes, etc.)

This change CAN BE A GOOD THING..... with a little tweak.

The times for exp will be tweaked if necessary, and it's looking pretty necessary to me Sitting there waiting for 2 mins when you want to do one quick change is torture And as it is now with 25 xp per change (which may be a bug) it would take eons to master ID.

We definitely need a medic-style post-timer that takes into account the types of changes you did. Stops grinding, but doesn't affect casual single-use IDers, and with a short enough delay won't cramp a master's style.

Personally I don't see any reason why a master ID should have a delay at all, but that is my personal opinion. The delay was put in to stop the really fast grinding, but masters are no longer grinding at all.

The emotes could be one of the stupidest things to put in this game...lets just add another piece of geometry to spawn instead of actually doing some real rigging on the actual character faces to show emotion...

Image Designers HELPING with Stat Migration and speeding it up = good.

Image Designers being vital to Stat Migration and the only option = bad idea.

And I'm a Master Image Designer.

That's it I quit!

But seriously, I love ID, and have loved it since I started doing my own hair back in August. Yeah, I can see where making things TOO horrible, may push me toward the edge. But, the last thing I'd do is quit before even trying out all the new systems and seeing what kind of fixes are made. Come come people. Don't be hasty.

um, let me get this straight. people seem to be getting upset about HAVING to go to an IDer to change their stats. now, it was my understanding that players could still do this themselves, but going to an image designer made it FASTER.

isn't that the case? maybe it should be clarified.

Anyone but a MID is going to be in demend, people want the rarest color, style and what not. What's the point of holding up the skill progression by adding an XP timer? So we have a bunch of novice ID that no one wants to deal with? Brilliant!
