I cannot bring myself to charge very much for ID work for a couple of reasons.

1) I do it because I enjoy it, not for a main source of income. I know this is not true for every ID out there, so I completely understand why some ID's choose to charge more than I do. Please don't take this as me saying all other ID's charge too much.

2) It doesn't take a constant drain on resources. Yes, it takes time to get it, skill points to keep it, and time to do each session. But I am not a tailor who has to buy more fiberplast, or a doctor who needs more water. I guess what I am trying to say is, there is no additional upkeep in order to be able to provide your services as an ID beyond the initial investment.

You just nailed it. I don't take credits, or platinum, or influence or whatever other virtual form of currency in any online MMOG very seriously. It's fun, it's entertainment, but when I turn off the computer for the night it ceases to be that. It remains in a virtual world with absolutely no hold on my life. Before you brush me off as a "you're addicted to online games you're a loser" fanatic hear me out. I cannot bring myself to charge services for something that took me roughly one week and costs me *nothing* to do. Yes it costs time but it costs time to do anything and everything else in this game, ID is no different. It costs skill points also, boohoo. You signed up for a subscription you know what you've gotten into, the whole "I spent time on this so I'm entitled to a return on my investment" is crap. It's total and absolute crap. You're entitled to nothing.

Now, let's take the ID tent scenario, I won't sit there and spam "FREE ID JOBS HERE" 50 times a minute, hell I won't even announce it. I'm going to sit in the tent just like y'all and play with my holoemotes until someone enters and asks "Is anyone available to do my hair" To which I will reply "Sure, I am" If someone else replies as well the client may (and has asked) how much do you charge to which I reply "Nothing sir, I work on tips" the other person says "5k per ID change". Blammo. I just stole that person's business. Was it intentional? No. Was it vindictive? No. Was it unfortunate? Yes. What am I going to do, lie just to keep the other bellyacher happy so that he doesn't feel like I'm ripping him off? No thanks. We all play the same class here, it's up to YOU and only you to figure out what it is that makes you money if that's what you want. It's also up to you to realize that no one is going to go out of their way to make YOUR play experience more enjoyable because everyone's paying their own subscriptions. You aren't entitled to anything.

You need a spin, an angle, a different approach. You need to start thinking more and whining less. Work the system, don't fight it. Call me a selfish **edit**, a condescending **edit**, a self-serving **edit**bag insensitive **edit**up. Call me whatever name you can think of I promise you I've been called worse and by people who mean far, far more to me than anyone on this board ever will. Flame away. In the meantime, I'm making all your money.

Yes, I play 3 accounts. I'm hopelessly addicted.
