Thread: ID exploits
I use a variety of in game macros for lots of different things. Heck - I even have a macro that's just "/tellpet kill" so I don't have to type that in every time I want my pet to attack something.I have carpal tunneland clicking the mouse too much just kills my wrists. That being said I never play the game unattended - what's the point.

Honestly, this can be debated infinitly and the resolution is this...Those that see nothing wrong with manipulating the code to fit their ideals of what they want to have their avatar's appearance seen as will never see it as wrong. And on the flip side of that coin, those of us who see these manipulations as wrong and as exploits not as bugs, will never see them as anything else but wrong. No matter how long it is debated, 90% of us, on either side of the coin, have already made our minds up as to how we see this issue. The only thing i wish to see come out of this, is maybe, just maybe this thread may get some dev attention and either the exploiting of this code will finally be permanantly blocked, or maybe they will add some of the things that was mentioned before, implants and things of that nature, be allowed and incorerated into the UI for us to use out right. Until either of these come to us in a patch, we will all go about the game doing what we do best, Image design, some of us following strictly to the UI, and others using code to manipulating it. Quite frankly im getting to the point that i dont care one way or the other about the exploits, i make it known when i recive requests for them, that i dont do them, nor will i. But 50% of those who request them, have no idea that they arent in our UI because some Image Designers are omitting this peice of info from their clients. Thus, for those that do these exploits, ask your customers if they know its an exploit and see how many still want them done. Out of the ones ive told its an exploit for twi'leks to have hair, etc. they decide against it.

sorry the previous text color was too dark for you to read. Ill pick brighter colors from now on.![]()
Well, I'll have to say the more I read this thread, the more I don't want to play the game.
In my oppinion (which seems to be the case for everyone else here as well) I think in a galaxy where blaster technology, advanced space capabilites, and cloaning, is possible, surely somone can make my human skin blue and my eyes red...I mean...just maybe.
Anyway, in the meantime, I hope I don't get reported by a vigilante who wishes to impose his views onto me.
And yes, I'm going on right now to ask somone to trun my skin color blue and my eyes red because I want to make a one of those things...I think they are called Faileen or Phaileen...whatever.
And by the way, My name is Tybalt- Capulet on Ahazi
Report me if you'd like, I can't really see anything wrong with wating to have blue skin and red eyes like that humanoid race.
I had a trandoshan that had hair. Whenever people asked, I said it was from a skinned mark, and I happened to like its hairstyle. ![]()
That being said, I would like to see some real bugs addressed before this one, but it would be nice to keep the image designing to the image designers, and the right things in their place.
That being said, I think eye color/skin color should definitely be able to be any range that is possible by the 3d engine, and tattoo's should be opened up to humans, but in different styles. But maybe just at master ID set for skincolor/novice ID for eyecolor(just throw on a pair of lenses for crying out loud. Even Marilyn Manson can do this, why can't Image Designers?
)
Thanks for the repost, I appreciate it.

I won't get into the discussion of if it's right or wrong to do it.. but what I will say is that the outcome of it looks -ridiculous-. Twileks with horns, Trands with lekku etc. It's as attractive as walking down the street and seeing a guy coming out of a shop with 3 eyes or 1.5 arms. It's appears unnatural and sure it catches your eye but I know when it caught mine I didn't think "Oh wow that looks cool!" I thought.. "Gah, I wonder does that person know how ridiculous they look".
Just yesterday I saw a Master ID on my server, a human with twi'lek blue/grey skin. I'm sorry but she looked HORRID. (Sorry, I know you're a friend but it's true) The colors for twi'leks look *beautiful* on them.. on humans. Well she just looked like a zombie.. there was nothing attractive about it whatsoever.
If people want to do this to themselves.. so be it. I'm not going to scream about it. It's up to SOE to fix these problems and as long as they exist it's unrealistic to expect people not to use them.
I just know that personally I took the option of being an image designer because I wanted to make people look good, and YES I want to make people look unique.. but I refuse to make them look like morons.
