This is probably in the FAQ too, but the answer to your question is yes.
I don't like the wait in the stat migration very much. The argument that it's so nice to be able to talk to people for ten minutes is rubbish: I have the social skills to talk to a lot of people, I don't need a timer for that. There's no one who can tell me what's the fun in clicking one button, waiting ten minutes, then clicking another button. All the other stuff people mention, like talking to the customer, trying out stuff on them, I can do that anyway, I don't need to migrate their stats for that. Those tents are utterly boring, even with the new furnishing - I'd prefer to get my own tent, or better, just the terminal, so I can do all the work from my own cantina.
Ok, enough complaining. The obvious good thing about stat migrations is that they will get you money. Hmm... no, can't think of anything else that's positive.

Id's are the top of the entertainment food chain unless you run a buff bot in the cantina as a dancer / muscician or both.

I really don't know. Stat migration is one of those things I can't say yay or nay to. I charge 20k for them, just to let the Novies in tents have a competitive edge (Most on Sunrunner charge 15k)
I allways thought that ID's being a faster alternative, for a price, to the regular method, would be a better idea than us being the ONLY method. But that's not how it went, so I'll go with what we have.
Since 8.1 I've done a handful of migrations for various people. What surprises me the most is, aside from the usual 'Holy cow! Ten minutes!' complaints I get no real quabbles over prices. What this suggests to me is that people are willing to pay for an immediate fix.
Bringing back slow-migration may cut into some profits, mostly in ID's who charge high-end prices. However, I still think that the majority of combat players would want a faster fix anyway.
Ten-Minute ID stat change:
It's speed allows a hunter to test out several configurations of stats in the period of, say, one set of buffs. That way they can better analyze their current setup effectiveness. For the hard-core PvP'er this would be essential, and worth paying a few bucks to have. The same can be said for quick profession-changes. Large amounts of stats take time normally, and as we all know in this game, time is money. A grinder might spend LESS on a quick migration than they would lose by doing it over time, in both Credits AND real cash.
Over-time stat migrations:
Not as advantageous, it offers no true character building advantages and is much more difficult to see the effects of. However, paying 20k to move fifty points from Health to Action is a bit steep, so for small touch-ups in stats this is the best way to go. Plus, it's free, which is always a good selling point for anything.

need to make the hide window more obvious. I've had soo many people accidently cancel sessions. and pressing ALT seems too complex for them.. as they need the ui screen to navigate to mail etc.

Quick Question,
At what level as an ID can an ID perform stat migration? It is it just the novice box??
please reply thanks.

I'm fairly anti-stat migration. I find it a frustatiing and time consuming task which at the end of it just doesn't give me any satisfaction. I generally avoid doing them like the plague ( an alt on my second account needs one and I just havn't done it yet ) as the time taken just isn't worth it. Bearing in mind we're talking getting on for half an hour all told, travelling from home to the tent, doing the migration and travelling back.

I have long though that it would be nice to have a minimize option for the in-game windows that worked much the same as those on regular Windows windows (such as browser windows etc).

Although I am relatively new to the Image Design profession, I have to admit that 10 minutes to wait for stat migrationis hard totake. If the 10 minutes is to keep xp grinding down then personally i would prefer to receive only 300 xp pts per stat migration rather than the 2k and cutdown the timer. If it is to keep characters from migrating their stats too often, then why not just limit how often a character can migrate their stats (for example: once every x amount of days)?

Yes, but the Alt key minimizes ALL of the windows. I often want to be able to minimize a window that is in front of (and covering) another widow so that I can do something with the second window. As things stand now, if I have several windows open in game, I often find that I have to drag or close some that I want open to work with others... and with the ID window being so large, it makes it even more of a pain than some others (though there are other windows that are even worse).
