Just to emphasize, it's no timer for Master IDs outside the tent when they do changes to themselves. You still have timers outside the tent while doing body and cosmetic changes to other players.
With good clothes you can get a mind buff within 5 min.
About stats migration at novice level: It's hard enough to find just a novice ID, some people search days to find someone to give them a stats migration. If it would be only possible for masters, they mightcharge you100k for it. ![]()

I just see a dangerous slide towards a place where stat migrations, buffs, wounds and battle fatique will all be expected to happen instantaneous and willtherefor be handled by vendors or NPCs if not various stim/heal/wound/migration packs are bought at the bazaar to carry with you. Why would the majority of people visit entertainers and IDs if those things were removed? It seems that socialization is not prioritized by the majority if you do not want to wield a weapon and be part of a hunting group. _That_ I find disturbing. I love the uniqueentertaining part we have whether it be dancing, playing music or image designing people and would love to see it stay instead of turning the game into a fight/hunt/jedi only.

So people will still go to Novice ID's for their all-important XP-gaining Stat Migrations and the like.
QFE (and highlighted)....... I'm asking why MASTER IDs have to wait for a timer.......not people grinding.
I don't see why any Master ID should have a timer for anything.
Well.......To provide the novice box with a useful and marketable skill that people are paying for is...just....well....not really swg...... No other profession has an ability or product at the novice box that you could ever think anyone would want to pay for.
While I'm not saying it is correct or not, you IDs should be thankful for this. Every other crafting/service profession has to grind to the master box to provide a service or product worth paying for......
Personally, I'm a fan of consistency. If the design of the game is such that you should only be able to sell a worthwile product or service at the master box, then it should be that way for all professions. That said, there should be a food that gives the user the ability to give both mind buffs anywhere with a droid in less than 2 minutes (similar to a Doctor). Waiting 10 minutes to give mind buffs is mind numbing
No changes were made to the xp gains.

Great change, 10 minutes is terrible when grinding. Can anybody confirm that the XP gained will remain the same? Just to be sure...
Cannot guarantee that xp *will* remain the same permanently, but on TC now, the xp is exactly the same (I tested it).
Um... you do realize that the primary beneficiaries of the timer reducions are the Novices, don't you? So when it comes down to it, a time sink is a time sink. You are happy to see the elimination of one that only affects Masters, but in your original statement, you said you thought that one that mostly affects Novices (whose primary source of xp is stat migrations) should not be reduced.

I find it rather amusing (and ironic) that Pooplefronk is happy about the elimination of timers outside the tent for Masters IDing themselves, but thinks that timers for stat migrations should stay at 10 minutes.
I need to clarify myself then. That reduction only applies when I do ID on myself as stated. I do not gain unfair benefits over non-masters as I can't ID others in the field but I can ID myself as often as I wish. I always felt it a bit strange that I, as a master, had to wait to apply a new eye colour or hair style if I'm not in the salon.

Again, I am strongly against shortened stat-migrate times. People with a bit of foresight about their profession will not need a stat-migrate RIGHT NOW. Anything worth paying for is worth waiting for.
For the casual gamers: sorry, I don't feel much sympathy. If you want to just turn on a game, play for a 1/2 hour, and then turn it off, perhaps a MMORPG is not for you. Try one of the many other Star Wars games that are for the consol where becoming a jedi is a matter of hours, not months.
Lastly, you don't NEED to get doc/music/dance buff before every encounter! Stick to fighting things on Naboo or lower-level missions on Dantooine. The high-end content is not intended to be for everyone. If you feel that you absolutely need to fight krayts or kimogillas or storm the Death Watch Bunker, then you just need to put in the time -- case closed.
So, I know many will probably be mad about my statements, but if you look at it logically rather than emotionally you will see my point.

Time sinks for the sake of time sinks are never a good idea. Then too, we aren't talking about something that affects only the person getting the stat migration... the ID is tied to that interface throughout the 10 minutes... often for hours on end if there are a lot of clients... and that time is not FUN... and any time spent playing a GAME should (in my opinion) BE fun! Why should people have to experience frustration from excessive timers (and 10 minutes IS excessive)? It's not as if the timer was being completely eliminated after all.
Next, why this hostility towards the casual gamer? Do you think MMOGs should be exclusively for l337s?
Finally, looking at this logically, I am not only unable to see your point, but am baffled as to why you think I would.

This is good to know. It's nice to hear from a red tag. Thanks SWG-Runesabre!
But a reduction of the timer to 4-5 minutes seems reasonable
