Even to this day, there is talk of changing the ID xp progression, when it is fine the way it is.

As I am sure you are aware, that is a matter of opinion, and you are one of the few who holds that opinion. Please don't bring up that old argument.

Actually, Nouva, 95% of the people I have spoken to who are/were working on ID post patch think it is too slow. The only thing that makes the exp gain tolerable is the 2k per stat migrations... but then it brings up the issue that IDs are nothing more than Migration Bots. Either way, it is a sticky situation. By no means should a person be able to master a profession in 2 hours, but then to the same extent, some casual players might be turned off by how horribly slow the leveling is now.

There is never going to be a time when 100% of the player base is 100% happy with what's going on in the game. That is human nature.

That's it exactly.

Nouva, I am going to try my hardest to make a calm, rational post. The one I made earlier was made in anger and was probably out of line. But I get so, SO tired of you coming in here and making these posts that imply that I - and others who post here - am a novice at what I do, and that my opinion somehow counts for less because I haven't been around since beta. I've been playing for over a year, and I've been an ID the entire time. I know the profession just as much as you do, so please refrain from making these posts intended to belittle me and make me feel inferior. It simply won't work, because no one can make me feel inferior except me. I have just as much right to my own OPINION - yes, that is what they are, whether you like it or not - as you do. Until either one of us becomes a developer for this game, everything we post here is nothing but opinion. It is your OPINION that the experience gain is just fine the way it is. You are totally entitled to that opinion. But I, and others around me, have a differing opinion. Just because YOU believe something does not make it solid, undeniable fact.

The fact is, I'm totally not impressed when you start throwing your weight around. In fact, it generally just serves to irritate me. You do not dictate the rules of this game. And as long as I'm playing and paying my 14.99 a month, I will be voicing MY opinions on this board, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about that. There are bound to be times when we're going to butt heads. I think we can probably expect to disagree more often than not. But perhaps we can manage to keep out of each other's hair while we do it. I'm willing to try if you are.

I really wonder why people seem to be only able to think in extreme ways.... It seems that many players only even see the absolute extremes there either... they seem to think that if you say 'The XP progression for the IDs is too slow now' one would automatically mean that he wants the old 2-hour-instant-master-ID-stuff back... But that's not true in most cases.... Most players simply want to see a more progressive xp-development matching their growing skills and xp-need.

Practically every other professions gets more xp with growing skills. Not so the ID. The best we can do is the statmigration, which many don't like to do over and over and over. But the xp for our other ID-abilities don't develop a bit over the skill-tree... We get the same 150/300 xp per 2.5/5 minutes for the whole tiresome skilltree. There are many ideas around to make it better... either the idea of stacking up the xp for multiple changes (atleast up to some reasonable value to prevent exploitation) or by assigning more xp to more advanced changes. I know this is no easy task to balance this out in a fair and reasonable way, but the majority of us simply feels that there needs to be some adjustments to be made. That does not mean that they all want the 2-hour-instant-master-ID back.

We just want the xp-progression to be adjusted in a way that we actually feel that we have a progression there somehow like it is with other professions. I think this is what makes 'the grind' for ID so hard for many of us, myself included.

So really no need to spit poison again or start a fight again.
