You always do good work, Kwee. I don't know where you find the time to write a column, be a correspondent, play the game, hug devs, and have a real life! Keep it up!

3/ Last name changing

-Especially for role play reasons such as adoptions and marriages

YES! I know someone who'll need a surname change very soon!

Another option - one which I mean no offense in suggesting - would be to simply drop ID from the game as a player profession.

You could add a Quest of some kind whose reward would be an Image Design Kit with a limited number of uses. You could use that Kit to change your hair or eyes or whatever.

Existing Image Designers could visit an NPC for a skill transfer to another Entertainer derived profession.

I know this is a little bit heretical, but rather than scramble for ways to make ID meaningful, maybe the Devs' time would be better spent adding features to the other professions, including new professions.

Just a thought. I appreciate the work ID's do, so don't toast me too crispy

I love the idea of an R2 droid with a "image designer" module that shows holographic preview

How are you not being a clickbot? Can you tell me exactly what the the image designer would be doing that wouldn't be more efficient if the client could just go to a terminal and choose what they wanted themselves? We could be something like image consultants and give advice, but then there would be no reason to invest any skillpoints into the profession. Anyone can be a consultant.

I guess my idea of clickbot is different than yours, I think my idea would currently involve less clicking than armorsmith, weaponsmith, doctor, or architect. They have to click alot more then we would. Anyway, discussion has moved to a different thread.

Although i am not or dont plan to be an ID ive read your wishlist and think that it has alot to offer the GCW and other professions. I like the idea of last nae changing as we all know the system only relys on the first name. I would also like the vendor IDing added. I thought when I went up the merchant tree that I could pick and choose what my vendor looks like, I was a little dissapointed that it was still basically random.

I would gladly pay an ID to model a vendor that looks exactly like my character(to give my customers the feel they are buying from me)

I have never ever used an ID since the release of the game. But with these proposed changes I think I and alot of other people would be using an ID frequently. Also many dancers/musicians are also ID so it would give them something else to do as a change to pushing a few buttons in the cantina all the time.

On the topic of letting customers see possible ID customizations:

How about a new "mannequin" craftable that can be ID'd and possibly even posed, as well as dressed/equipped a la vendors (but without any of the other vendor functions, of course)? This could potentially benefit a lot of professions besides ID, but an ID would then be able to set up a salon with abunch ofmannequins with various customizations, just like real-life hair stylists feature photographs of various hair styles.

Vendors should also be ID-able, of course, but IDs should not be required to be Master Merchants simply to have six "mannequins" for this purpose.

I would suggest the ID can make Hot Tubs, Mud baths etc also to sell but that they have no special in game effect other then looking really cool

Sound more like Smuggler ideas. Falsifying records to make you a innocent or changing faction and what not. Well, if Smugglers were used for more than improving your weapons and armor.

I like the idea of craftable items for non-ID people. Lipstick isn't exactly high tech Though no decay... people hate decay.

I would love to see mannequins in the game They could have wigs, wear clothes/armor, and wield weapons. Wouldallow various artisan professions and ID'ers display examples of their wares, and make for interesting shop displays

Kwee,

Could you let us know if Thunderheart/Runesabre have acknowledged the Image Design XP problem? And maybe even ask them to post something on it, even just a post asking for ideas to fix it would be something.

I've brought up our exp problem on the correspondent forum, and Thunderheart is aware of it. I'll see if I can dig up the last thread we had discussing the issue.
