Well then only let you do species change once in your entire game life (or twice just in case some noob doesnt know about it and gets changed from a human to a bothan or something). Or just let wookies change it cause I think only wookeis want to change

But doesn't gender changing involve all sorts of hormones, steroids and tons of other pills for a lifetime? (kidding) I would say that gender change should involve the help of a doctor along with the ID.

The species change... Wookies, trandoshans, zabraks, etc have restrictions on armor... IF this is ever implemented, they will need to make certain that they figure in players trying to wear restricted armor and getting themselves changed to a restricted species. (And that's a pretty big 'if'. Ooh. Pun...) I would say that species change should involve the help of a BE along with the ID.

(The Devs are all about interdependency... even if the players are not according to the latest poll [2003-09-25])

Wookiees are also physically incapable of any other speech than their own. This would also need to take in consideration. Doctor buffs should be reset. Skill enhancement and learned skills... what to do about them? I mind in a new body would have difficulty getting around until it relearned how to do things... I say, start a new character instead...

For the cooperative effort I mentioned, the supplies used to augment gender and species would be crafted by Doctors and BEs specifically for the ID to use.

Since this is how it is done in other professions, my roommate suggested that IDs have a certain level of medical skills to do the greater enhancements such as gender (after all, a plastic surgeon is a surgeon).

(This is based on the fact that artisans need certain non-artisan skills to craft certain things... or in the vice versa, non-artisans need a certain level of artisan skills to craft their own items.)

A couple comments:

  • Bothan males do have little accessories in many if not all of their hairstyles. I have a regular customer in particular that complains every time that his hair accessories are always yellow. He always wants everything coordinated, his hair, eyes, fur, clothes, etc, and yellow accessories don't always work.

  • Ithink species or gender should be changed only once per lifetime if implemented. I think that alone would alleviate a lot of the potential issues associated with such an ability. I agree they might be something suited to a Master Bio Engineer though Master Image Designersdon't really have much to do (skin color, age, torso, head size). And I should point out that a lot of what we do is very much plastic surgery. Nose job anyone?

Changing species... thats the dumbets thing I read. Changing looks is one thing, changing someones species is just absurd. I sincerely hope this will NOT be possible. There's a lot more to species than what a plastic surgeon can do.. Maybe someone who is a master doctor and a master image designer.. and force-sensitive should be able to alter another character enough to turn them into something else.

Thanks so much Ood_Bnar!

Just bringing attention to the eye shape bug, the eye shape slider actually does eye angle for humans, twi'leks, and zabraks which means we have no means of adjusting eye shape. Also, that hair color bug is really the most annoying of all (the default color not reseting till after the person has logged out). Thanks for all the fixes so far!

Hehe! If the "breast augmentation" allowed for more "augmentation" than the character creation screen, I'd imagine there will suddenly become alot of rich Image Designers.

I like the idea of the species and gender change. Definately exploitable if not careful tho. I like the idea of limiting the species change to only being able to be done once every month or two. That alone would cut outa lotof the exploiting faction. I think the only way to really cut out the exploit problem tho would be to someone make it so that even if you change species the original faction penalties will always apply.

Sorry to report that species andgender changes/breast enhancement aren't going to be allowed. (per LucasArts and Lucasfilm). It would have been pretty tricky, and it sounds like there is debate to whether people like it anyway.

We're looking into the remaining issues..

Thanks,

Thanks, Jake.

While a bit off-topic, I know many are curious as to when we might see the night star-field layered behind the clouds and moons, instead of in front of them?
