Lots of great ideas I really like the roladex, but am not fond of having a chat box only because chatting with a customer out loud has often been a great way for me to get more customers from people listening nearby. And often friends or passersby enjoy watching the interaction between the customer and ID'er

I definitely agree it would be nice to have a secure payment method built in. I know we've talked that one to death in the past and my favorite method would only be possible if all changes were done at once... Ideally there would be an option for the customer to enter some amount (either agreed upon previously or a tip), at which point if happy the ID'er would allow the changes to go through. If the changes were not done all at once (due to mind constraints), then an option for the ID'er to undo all changes made to the client at the end of the session if they don't pay up or underpay a set price

The mind issue is a good point. Maybe, instead of working as it does now, ID would work like a temporary mind de-buff. That is to say, performing an ID would only cost half the mind it does now, but it would also temporarilly lower your focus and willpower so that—in theory—it would take the same amount of time to regenrate naturally, but you wouldn't run into the issue of not having enough mind to perform all of the requested changes.

Alternatively, the commit process could be a simple batch script. Each change would be committed in turn, over the course of say 2 minutes, or some time determined by Mind/Focus/Willpower of the image designer.

Edit: Because I finally can. Woo hoo! (No, I didn't actually change anything in the message…hehehe. I just wanted to click the button )

Chat Box: I guess it it depends on where you are it and how many customers you have waiting. I think it should be optional to use

If all changes were done at once... I touched on that with

  • Pre-Master Image designer have to commet each change
  • Master Image designercan do multichanges before commet

  • I would like it when Master Image designerdo a "multichange commet" the XP should be 0 or 1, the mind cost should besizablebuthave a set amount for multi-changes, and"multichange commet" should be on a timer 2-5 mins.

I like the idea of the multi-commit, but again, I think it would be nice if the number of changes were based on tier. For instance:

    Master Image Designer

    C. Changes +5

    C. Change Mind Cost x0.5

Hairstyling IV Face IV Bodyform IV Markings IV

    C. Changes +2 C. Changes +2 C. Changes +2 C. Changes +2

Hairstyling III Face III Bodyform III Markings III

    C. Changes +1 C. Changes +1 C. Changes +1 C. Changes +1

Hairstyling II Face II Bodyform II Markings II

    C. Changes +1 C. Changes +1C. Changes +1C. Changes +1

    Hairstyling I Face I Bodyform I Markings I

    C. Changes +1 C. Changes +1 C. Changes +1 C. Changes +1

    Novice Image Designer

    Concurrent Changes +1

Novice Entertainer would grant Concurrent Changes of 1.

Okay…so, here's the deal. As far as I can tell the most number of changes possible on any given toon is 27. Assuming I've counted right, this chart would give a master the ability to perform an entire makeover in a single commit, and would, to a degree, mitigate the high mind cost of doing so (the mind cost modifier.) Just a random thought, still very much in the formative stages and very much open to comments, criticisms, and alteration…so yeah, comment, criticize, and alterate.

I like how we're thinking here, but let's focus on the candy. When push comes to shove, I think most of us would abandon interface concerns in about 2 seconds for body tattoos. I'm not sure how high a priority this is - it would be very very nice to have, but it's down the list from new content. I'm not saying it's a bad idea to flesh out the wish-list now, but let's not have this overshadow the stuff that we really really want.

I would agree UI should take secound stage, "IF" it was one or the other, but sense it looks like we are going to get the whole art team working on ID for a month or so and likely nothing after for a long time. I say we better ask forall we want now.

    Good thinking Syzygy-Gorath

Please don't be under the impression the whole art team is working on ID goodies. For quite a while thebulk of the art team's timeis going tobe tied up in the Space Expansion. They have to create all those new spaceships And they have other projects going all the time...

I'm very happy that they are going to spend any time at all on ID stuff! The space expansion is going to take a lot of work and they can't afford to mess it up. There are so many people who are still playing the game hoping that the space expansion will make it much better and they wouldn't want those people to be disgusted and quit!

Ooops I meant to say"one" whole team of which I'm there are many arts teams, and I have no idea if a team is 1 or 12 artist. Ether way after we get some dev love my Guess (and it'sonly a guess)would be that there will be a dry spell afterwords.

How about a [ Save Image ] button...... I would really like to save some of my favorite self-IDs so that I could quickly recall them. A macro could do this but it would be much easier to have a button in the new UI. You could also use this to save the customers image before starting.

First have a tab in the control area for (Self IDs)

In that Self ID area have it so you can save IDs you have done on yourself,2 at novice and up to 8 at master.

This would be great for RPing for ID/smugglers, ID/entertainers should also find it very useful, and I think RP actors would also enjoy it. Quick change artist anyone?
