Thread: ID User Interface
Bleh no edit!
Also, as someone else said, a way to zoom into the area being fixed would be great. Also, a special lighting source when doing ID so that the ambient conditions do not matter. It's frustrating to have to dance around someone just so that my personal light makes them visible. ![]()
Gimme a **edit** light!!!! GAH nothings worse than doing ID and having to have people move 20 times to be able to see their face, your personal light only throws shadows on their face. What we NEEd is a light that we can move around (via mouse) that allows us to see the persons face or body that we are working on.
2nd - Give us a color template, the color slider is very hard to work with, Even numbers for each shade on the bar would be an inprovement.

FIX CHEF FOOD STACK BUG...
DON'T ADD FLUFF WHILE A PROFESSION IS COMPLETELY BROKEN.
image designers need some imersion
certain alterations should need resources such as pigment or inks that the designer need to aquire to make unique image designs
things like ornate and colorfull tatoos come to mind though this might be beyond the ability of the game simple tatoos should be doable
Sorry but the edit feature doesn't exist so let me just add: I wish that I could give myself eyebrows as well, I look very odd without the tattoo....
I think it would be cool if you just made it when you are Image Designing that you use the character creation interface. Maybe just when you click Image Design on them it brings up that box, with the chat box at the bottom so you still see him chatting telling you what he wants. Also it would bring up the interface for the customer. And he can see as you do it. Ex: he wants to be taller, you click ID on him and the character creation box comes up full screen with the chat box at the bottom. He asks to be taller and you get the slider and move it, he sees it exactly the same as you and can see what you are doing. If he wants a new hairstyle, maybe you can have all the hair styles on the screen, like how it is now, put it in the corner, and he can see what he wants. Just tossing around some ideas, thanks for the help!

Enable us to change everything through the nice happy interface instead of command line stuff
The ability to Queue up changes (up to some reasonable max so it doesn't make macroing the class easier if necessary), so that we can actually do a "Full Body Makeover" (And preview the entire change properly to client), or just simply some way to change multiple things at the same time (queue if necessary to deal with the Mind Pool).
A more interactive interface (show the client the 'work in progress' changes without losing them).
Some sort of secure trade for ID services rendered (Again nicely paired with the Queue for changes).
Please stop hijacking a devID thread in the ID forum (the only one I can ever recall) started by the art director (read: Not the Godof all things related to balance and bugs).
Jake, thanks so much for the attention, if you made these changes I would be in heaven...
- Make the overall UI much like the character creation process where we even see the client in a separate box with its own lighting and where we can manipulate their position and zoom level. (Already on your list, I know).
- In this new UI, allow us to apply multiple changes at once. Quite often customers want a hair color and style change, or tattoo color and eye color, etc. The less clicking both of us have to do to get to that point the better.
- Perhaps most importantly, the UI needs to allow secure transfer of payment. For example, I start the session and the new UI comes up where I make my adjustments. When completed,I click "Show changes" and the client sees the update on her own mirror (ala character creation that they can manipulate and what-not). This dialog also has two accept check boxes like the trade window, and a spot to put a credit amount.
Basically we need a way to guarantee that we'll be paid for a service we have rendered, and our clients need a way to guarantee that thedesired service is rendered for their payment. Presently we have neither.
- If theclient refuses the new secure design change, our UIshould goback to the change menu with all of our refused changes still intact. The scenario I'm thinking of here is when a client asks to be made taller and we show them the change. Often they'll say "a little taller" or "a little shorter" and refuse. Right now that just puts us back at square one where we have to remember how tall we just tried to make them and adjust from there.
Those changes, I think, would be tremendous. If I were to let my mind run completely wild I could think of the following very nice possibilities...
- Allow us to save the look of anyone as a template and then use that template on anyone else of the same gender and species. Covers the scenario of, "make me look like her." It also provides a convenient way to save what a client looked like before they came to us, or three changes ago, etc.
- Allow us to create and save these templates without need of a current client at all (not while gaining experience of course). Meaning I call up my ID UI and it lets me edit a generic Twi'lek model to my heart's content. I save that as "Strong Twi'lek male #1" and then I can apply it to a client later.
- Maybe even let us trade these templates (as a datapad item) to other people. So even non-image designers could store 3 or 4 preferred looks and go to an image designer to have one restored.
I could go on, but I'll leave it at that for now. Thanks so much.
could we get something like this for creature design for the Bio engnineers ?
even if our creations are not the most powerfull (and they are not ) we would have market if we could at least make them look unique. who wouldn't like to stride into town on the back of a solid black mount with glowing red eyes ? .. zebra striped rancors for those with discrimanating tastes
A littl anything would be nice

How about droid modules that provide directional working lights for various professions (including ID) and holographic modules that let a droid project an image of what the customer is going to look like?
Okay, obviously I'm more interested in DE than ID, and I apologize for interrupting with my own agenda, but the fact is that droids need to be made useful in a wider range of circumstances, and so if I see unaddressed player needs that could in theory be solved by a droid, I feel I would be remiss in not suggesting it. Not insisting, mind you, since those problems could be resolved in any number of ways. And I'm not pretending my suggestion solves all issues with the ID UI. Just a couple of features that would make your lives easier, but aren't strictly essential, and which don't replace skills that could be provided by another player profession. Whether it happens in this case or not, that's exactly the kind of function droids should ideally be providing. Seems to me like a net win for everybody involved.
Again, sorry to interrupt. Ignore me as needed.
