Species changes will not be going into the game. The devs have told us this.

5. Which brings us to scars/tatooing. The problem is in the rendering. To do this, you have to add another "layer" to the player. This in turn, creates issue in rendering. If you think lag is bad now, adding a layer to *every* toon out there will make things much worse. When we ID, we're simply changing what is already there. To add this new element, a new layer would have to be added. I for one would rather have more content than scars/tatooing myself. They haven't said it won't happen, it's just that it is a HYOOGE undertaking.
Is this more or less accurate to their concerns about it? If so, thats total garbage. Not only do we currently have to load completely custom faces, bodies, and hair/skin colors/textures/models, but we also have to load all of the unique items everyone and their mother lavishes themselves with. A single scar shader (shaders are turned off btw for cards/systems too ancient to actually support/handle them, btw) would be far from taxing. If thats what they implied then they're either not actually part of the art department and thus have no idea what they're talking about, or are complete lazy bums.

Thank you for the representation and detailed notes
Vendor ID'ing was always what I was personally most excited about being able to do
And a year ago they were saying it was doable on some level, hope it gets implemented sooner rather than later. It would be such a boon both to business and pleasure
My last Gamer Girl column (link below) was a rant ontrying to select an acceptable vendor.

I know know this pain, as my alt is a tailor. I was trying to place a decent looking vendor yesterday. Yeah, I really hope they implement this soon.
