I sure don't want to go to Lagsville aka Theed to hang out in a tent waiting for customers. I happen to love my player city and that is where you will find me. When they decide to give us ID tents for Player CIties, you can come to my tent and I will happily help you.

Like most IDs, I have a second profession, master tailor. In order to do that, I have to be in my player city...not to mention the fact I absolutely love it there. No player tents on Rori either, now that sucks.

GIVE US ID PLAYER CITY TENTS

Gloria, Lowca: Wanderhome & Test Center
9 accounts, 18 characters, ok this is a tad nutso
Lowca, LIBERTYLAND PARK on Rori: PIRATES COVE on Test, Dantooine: SMUGGLER'S COVE on Wanderhome, Rori, our fun city geared to role playing fun
take the shuttle, racetrack, Wildlife museum, Romance Inn, pub, cafe,
Droid Factory, Whacky Hospital...much more
Come visit, bring friends and roleplay. Pull up your overhead map, each vendor marks a site for adventure and fun.

First off Droids aren't gonna happen..too much temptation for exploits.

For example,a group is out hunting, someone decides that they need their stats migrated,so the MID in the group pulls out their droid and there ya go..your stats are set.

Wouldn't be fair..

The tents maybe,if we protest loudly enough..who knows.

I keep my tags hidden if I am out working TK,there is NOTHING more aggravating than being in the middle of a hunt and having someone keep sending tells for ID work..just my opinion.

I make it a point to travel to theed on a daily basis to make sure there is no one there needing work done,I am also willing to travel if someone wants to tip me a lil bit

I have gotten 20k (what I charge), for Stat migrations and even gotten more than that from people that are actually

understanding.

I have been called names from some, saying that my skill didn't take resources to grind, that It didnt cost me anything to master it etc,

I polietly tell them to make their own ID and do the work themselves.

Then I also point out very smartly that even if they manage to get MID they can't migrate their own stats..LOL.

Needless to say I have a few people onmy ****list

At any rate if you play Tarquinas and need work done please don't hesitate to send me an EMAIL in game and we will work something out

Simple facts for the past week (week#2 since release of ID destruction patch):

1. I have religiously logged, during my 4-5 hour play windows, each day the # of ID's that show up in the search: NEVER MORE THAN 2

2. I have gone to the ID tent in Coronet, the busiest city in our Eclipse server. Max # of ID's there at any given time: NEVER MORE THAN 1

3. Out of #1 and #2 above, exactly 32% of the time, what few ID's have shown up on the search or been sitting at the tent have ACTIVELY REFUSED to handle stat migration. Out of those refusals, 70% were people who insisted that I first sit for them for at least an hour and let them experiment on me for their own ID grinding purposes. The other 30% said, literally, SORRY, I DON'T WANNA DO ID RIGHT NOW or I'M GOING AFK. Hey, I don't expect ID's to be slaves at my beck and call, but **edit**, SOE, you put a rather powerful feature into the hands of a profession that is both woefully undermanned to handle the new load you put on them and, let's face it, rarely available on a regular basis to boot!

So, what a great idea it was to put stat migration solely into the hands of player ID's!

My #1 suggestion would be that if the devs wanna toss this burden onto the ID's backs (and it clearly appears to be perceived as a burden to many in the profession, that is if you can even find someone online IN the profession), perhaps the devs should add an NPC ID to the Tent to cover the gaps the same way NPC trainers do (for a fee). Or, go back to the old stat migration system but allow ID's to speed it up if someone can't wait.

Oh, wait, that NPC would make extra work for the devs, making a player-manipulable version of the new interface, egad...you're right, it's much better the way things are now (rolls eyes and sighs) Hell, they can't even keep the current NPC trainers working. The smuggler trainer on Dearic has been broken for over a month now despite repeated tickets...

I'm not even addressing the assinine 10 minute wait thing once I finally DID find an ID to do the migration (5 freakin days later, much slower than if I'd migrated the old way!) Yeah, nothing is gonna rake in customers for the ID's like forcing customers to wait for eternity for their services...pfft...what grade of crack were the team leads smoking when they imposed these new rules?

Sorry to be so angry/sarcastic/flippant about this whole thing, but to have to spend the time I ***DO*** have to play wandering the galaxy trying to find an ID to migrate my stats day after day is pretty god d*mn annoying, not a positive player experience in any way, shape or form.

All 4 Accounts Cancelled 08/04/2004

#1 Reason: Introduction of and overpopulation of Jedi that belong in KOTOR2 or a seperate server.
#2 Reason: Failure by SOE to fix long-existing problems and failure to generate any rich, meaningful, story-driven and GCW-affecting content while consistantly lying to the community in poorly handled communications.

Putting the old stat migration system back as an alternative to IDs giving fast stat migration would help a lot, I think! Making NPC ID terminals, on the other hand, is just a bandaid which would allow you to migrate your stats, but would make having player IDs completely unecessary and in most cases undesirable. That would be the end of the image design profession just as much as if you could go to an "gun-o-matic" machine, put in resources and get a crafting window to make your own weapons would put weaponsmiths out of business.

Right now I only do stat migrations for people in the guild and I charge for it to keep it under control (this is the first time I have charged guild members for image design, but the requests have gotten out of hand). Stat migration is not what I became an image designer for, it is extremely boring and people get mad if you charge a decent amount for it. What is my motivation to do it at all except for some sense of duty? I can only be so self sacrificing before I am simply being taken advantage of.
