haha .... there are some SW geeks around that want of a video game a playable-movie-(books.. cause[i'm] sure you have read them all duck). cause they never ap[p]ear eating in the movie should the food be excluded form the game as well? or the hammers for sword[s]m[e]n
s? cause i never saw one ofthose[them]..... or maybe lets reduce the hair stylesaviable[avaliable] in game to the 80's hair styles shown in the movie, cause i only saw one or two diferent ones (luke, han, the imp comanders... all [the] same kind of hairs). man come on...
Before you rag on someone then perhaps get your facts straight. In nearly every StarWars movie there are people eating food... luke, owen, beru enjoying a family meal as they talk about luke's future ofstaying on the farm(anh), luke eatign rations before meeting yoda(esb), yoda feeding luke stew(esb), wampa eating a tauntaun(esb), jabba eating a froglike creature(rotj), rancor eating a gammorian (rotj),a worrt eating a creature while the suns go down behind jabbas palace(rotj), the sarlacc(need i say more about that one?
)(rotj), jarjar talking about getting his early morning munchies(tpm), jarjar eating the fruit in front of qui-gon(tpm), jarjar trying to eat the mos espa vendor's gorg(tpm), customers in dex's diner(aotc), the clone troopers sitting in there dining area(aotc).
Trust me I'm surethere are few more I just can't think of also.
As for hairstyles? OK, I'm not even going to try and name them all.... did you only watch A New Hope like once or something? lol

ANYWAYS as for what I have to say on these new emote things... ehhh to me they only would seem to fit in on Coruscant (like at the Outlander Club) other then that there are more important things to work on then silly little bubbles and such. And I still trying to figure out the need for these tents and recolored cloning machines?
As you will all find out soon enough, the galactic civil war actually started as a result of Anakin startling Amidala with a kitty emote, causing her to have a fatal heart attack. He could not forgive the jedi/image designer who sold him the holo, and thus he swore to eradicate the jedi.
I'm not an ID, but I was looking forward to the ID update for a long time. Why? Because as a Zabrak, I would love it if I had new hair styles to choose from, rather than having to stay with the original one I chose.
Or if not new hair styles, then make it possible to mix hair and horn styles so I can have the hair I want AND the horns I want.
I love my tattoo that I chose too- other wise I wouldn't have chosen it - but I agree that there needs to be more choice for other players.
As for this whole holo-emote thingie...to each their own. If you want to use it, then go right ahead. I for one won't be and to everyone bitching about turning it off or what not, if you read anything, you would have noticed that the ID GIVES it to the player if they WANT it. It's not automatic and the holo-emotes have their own special commands to activate them. So if you don't like it, then don't use it. Just stop bitching about it here. I'm sure the Devs are getting the point that no one wants these things and it most likely won't make it past Test Center.
Here's what the Devs say about the holo-emote for those of you who are simply bitching about what you've seen instead of what you've read:
Holo-Emotes
For special occasions, Image Designers can sell you "Holo-Emote" particle effects. These "holographic" images can be used for a short period of time and require charges (supplied by Image Designers). When you have purchased Holo-Emotes, type /holoemote help to see instructions and a list of the Holo-Emotes you now own. Type /holoemote [emote name] to use one of your Holo-Emotes; for example, type /holoemote Imperial to display an Imperial Symbol over your head for a few seconds. There are 16 different Holo-Emotes available.

I think you missed our point—it's not that we don't want them ourselves, it's that they're immersion-breaking and we don't want to see them at all.

That's true. I'd rather not see them myself, but that's why people shouldn't be raising a stink about them here. Email the Devs. If you're in Test Center, then tell them it's a stupid idea.
Many people feel they won't even make it past testing, so why worry about it? If it actually makes it into the game, then raise a stink because they are pointless.
Yes, IDs do need something to put them back into the game, but these holo-emotes aren't what they need. They need the countless hair styles that they and everyone else have been begging for since day 1.

I think that many people would agree that the developers aren't really focusing on what the IDs wanted for their profession.
Most of the players in SWG want to make their avatar unique in some way or another , in order to have distinguishability between each other.
Perhaps the developers should do some sort of assessment , such as a poll, to see what the IDs want. To me it seems like they hear what we would like to do, and then come up with their own ideas from some "consultant" in the meetings that they hold.
Raph, please sit back and play the game you've created, ask yourself what you would like to change and then Listen to your player base to see if your ideas concur.
I really think you guys dropped the ball on this one. Image Designers need something, but this is not it.
/agree
I'm sorry, but a holographic imperial or rebel logo? Holographic horns? Bubbles? Pffftttttt!
This is just "goofy". Someone must be very bored to come up w/ insane ideas like this one. I like the "disguise" idea that seems to have gotten blown away. A good example would be:
Overt rebel goes to ID, and get's a disguise that will allow him into a 'secure' imperial city, etc. Once there, can attack (pre-emptively). Same would go for imps.
But it would be a cold day in hell before I have bubbles on my head.
*puts bubbles on ODBAltos' head*

jk, i apologize and completely understand your position
For example. One day I get tired of the hair that I have. I go run to a PC and find a ID terminal. I go in it, select the "Hair" option, then choose "Style" instead of "Color". I scroll through the options. See one that I kinda like. Click on it, get charged X Amount of money. Look at myself, decide I don't like it. Select a new one, click it, pay the fee and walk out happy.
