It's not a win / win Profession...

There is alot (for me) of stress dealing with a line up that grows if you happen to step in a tent. I stood in Theed to Make a guild memeber shorter because the timer is quicker there.. and I have 6 people lined up for stats. 2 all pi$sy cause I won't aknowlege them because of the cantina spam and the fact I need to be in group chat to discuss changes and the damn Id screen in the way off to the right so I can see the chat bubble incase they forget to type in group. The cash is good but realistically once I get my Av-21 What else would I want? Clothes? YEs I need to place a Larger well thats why I'm mayor now.. so I can have more clothes and places to store them heh.. I'm not that vain on Bria I had to become a merchant jus to have a driod to store them.

PS Still need a Powercore. (I would Perform a guild wide Stat for an av21.)

There is no win / win when you're the only ID in the tent that will offer Stats. Sure people grumble at the sight of 10K I demand it up front people will pay it or they can spend another 3 weeks looking for a ID. People tend to pay and extra just so I will remember them next time. I have a guy on Ahazi that CONTANTLY asks where I am cause he want to make a change he tips so high I even will make time to go to a tent for him if I'm in the middle of shopping for That Damn powercore.

I have made soo much Credits by just being freindly and performing ID on people that I flip this back to the entertainment community buy walking into the cantina's and tipping the NON AFKers 1,000 for just putting up with the cantina grinds. To make money you need money but if you donate it away more floods in. It's like the tithe to a church beleif.

Rant rant rant I need a new topic on what I would like to be see the game reward the prfession... It'll be how I think the game should credit you for time spent in your profession. but it's true.. I guess you can't become forcesensitive by simply knowing what the customer wants to look like... Which I'm fairly good at after the client askes for something changed I can usually rework everything to fall into place for them.

P.s. 2000 Xp for a stat is too much xp. the true value should be 1000, 100xp per min as per the other ID changes. When I was workig up the ID tree I prayed everyone wanted stats with that supersized hair.

I think there should be some sort of a bonus incentive for STAYING the profession. Thats where alot of people loose interest in galxaies.. you become the king of your profession your empire and you have to start over again.. it's not right.. there's something wrong with that... all it promotes if a sence of dis orientation. Our guild flipped professions to the point I have no idea who can do what anymore.. one day their buffing the next they're dancing.

Anyways Since I nolonger get credit for ANY ID work besides credits earned and if I'm watching i might happen to notice the Mind value float into the air on completeion... I wonder if it really worth my time to do these stats? If now that I do not earn any EXP for ID changes- is this the time I might be rewarded with a Shop / tent / terminal away from the metropolises? That would make the400+ now completed Stat migrations pay off in more ways than I can think of.

Then they say to us the grinds are over.. but to be a jedi you need to be somewhat of a combat person to eventually battle your way through the trials....

While this is probably a fair path to jedi hood... what if you were busy having fun in your profession be itID / Artisan /Medical and the force awoken your inner self. would this not be a fair kick to go for a jedi teaching? I havn't had the forchune of a holocron but I did the professions that the guild memebrs basically said peace I'm out.

I went master entertainer -> Master dancer -> master Muscian -> master ID collasping my beloved Dancer. and now I've taken novice politician to help my guilds city get a star port.. wait till I tell them to unzone everything so I can rezone it for XP muahaha... People complain about ID being a hard climb.. I can't beleive it took 4 months just to get a mayor gig in the city... let alone get any XP for it!

Sony did a great job of making it impossible to be a cool character with a balence of combat / non combat sigh...

If I want to be one of the professions that I've been scolded at in the tent ... "If you want to make money be a combat type" I would have to letgo of entertainment... it's soo hard to let go of what you like.. you know.. I rushes in the game did the professions I was thinking would be fun to do and Now I'm forced with doing profession that I really am not too keen on to unlock that wonderfull jedi.. mm An image desiner Jedi..

*waves hand* This is not the shade of colour you are looking for

*waves hand* you don't want a stat migration

*waves hand* ah screw it.. *grabs hairdrier by mistake* mmm thats not right.. where's the lightsaber.. mmm *force run* (runnign away sounds with a sparly visual trace to the theed starport

Thanks all for the input and information Still not happy with the timer but, I don't have much of a choice. Any way good luck to those that are grinding their way to master.

Thanks again all

There were quite a few nerfs beside the timer that came about because of the previous ability to master image design in a couple hours. All fo them now contribute to the tedium of grinding to Master.

1. There used to be no delay in doing image changes.

2. You used to be able to work with fellow image designers and practice on each other at the same time.

3. I may be mistaken here, I took a 6 month absence from when I last played in January, but I seem to recall that either xp requirements to learn a box weren't quite as high, or there was more variation in the xp you could get as you advanced or maybe both.

It might not be quite as bad currently, if image changes stacked in a single session, but I can see how people might use that to grind faster to high xp gains.

The xp required was the same as now, but the xp was gained at a different rate... and as you gained skills, there were certain changes that you could do to maximize your xp gain. This, plus the fact that they had no timer, was why ID was so easy to get. I helped several people who ground ID back when it was easier to do and they would switch what they did when they got a skill that earned more xp per change.

why not let the Xp stack to a max of 2300? I think?

100 non Body form

200 Body Form

2000 Stat

------------------------

2300 per ten mins if the Victim lest you make changes?

BTW I am almost certain I am wrong on the XP levels

Ke'la Korian, Waylon Korien, Me'na Korien
Ke'la is a Master Rifleman/retireing Ranger and Waylon is an ID/DE
Me'na is the mayor of the City of Obalisic

You are only a little off.

  1. Cosmetic Changes = 100 xp

  2. Body Changes = 300 xp

  3. Stat Migrations = 2000 xp

You get half the xp for cosmetic and body changes if you do them to yourself. You cannot self stat migrate.

Sure its not fun, but look at the brightside. Its cheap. You spend no money or time to get resources to master this profession.

Good point! I cost me a fortune to Master Combat Medic and Artisan! All is costs is time. AND when you think of it that way, with those other professions you are spending the same time and credits with very little profit. With ID, no resources and huge profit! ID is a win/win situation to master!

I've done most of the crafting professions, and I doubt I spent much more than 20K grinding any of them. The fact is that grinding any of these professions is cheap as long as you gather all of your own resources. Hologrinding was very expensive because the goal was to grind to master, drop the profession and move to the next one as fast as possible. Most people didn't feel that they had the luxury to go out and hunt or mine materials and wait until they had enough. It was faster just to buy everything and try to finish in a matter of hours to a few days. The days of hologrinding are pretty much over and people who are mastering a profession to actually keep it can take the time to do get their materials inexpensively.
