Thread: Image Designer State of the Profession
Just came in to check whats up with the IDs. I was Master for awhile and then decided that it was a hopeless chore, everyone was getting at least SOME love except us. Sad to seethat nothings changed. I actually enjoyed Iding...but...It grew stale. I believe the stats of 1 out of every 2.5 quit IDing. I did. Best of luck folks...
(I'll come back if they give metalic shades for body and hair:smileywink![]()

Also I think that ID should be a part of BH - or at least helpfull to them in tracking the tougher marks and I think that ID should be able to reduce a jedi visability (though perhapse restricted in some way to avoid exploits as it should be dangerous).

Very nice State of the Profession write-up, Kwee.
I would like to enhance your class in a way that is is functionally useful to otherprofessions (much like Chefs are functional useful to other professions) while maintaining your unique playstyle. I would like to not simply turn you into yet another buff or crafting class. It feels like you are a service oriented profession; your skills are done on other people and not simply crafted in solitude and sold on a vendor. My challenge is to create a demand for your profession in a way that is unique and fun for not only your profession but those seeking your services. The idea someone posted about eating and using spices causing alterations to one's current look is an interestingidea for creating demand for your servicesif applied in a way so as not to be too obtrusive.
At any rate, fear not, your profession has not been forgotten.
You should require an image designer to allow an Overt to switch to Covert. The covert status should be temporary in nature, as someone is in "hiding" - have image designers let someone go covert, but its more like a buff, a temporary covert status. Eventually you get recognized again, and you need an image designer to put you back in hiding...
Great roleplay aspect, good inter-dependency aspect...

While I have been posting this same idea for years and years, I still think the most compelling thing you could do for IDs is let the craft "Dyes" that are used as a component to determine color in armor, clothing, whatever. It adds another person to the supply chain and gives IDs an easily sellable, non-service based task.
How about the ability to alter ones appearance to be that of an imperial officer to get around the crackdown scans? The "alteration" would have a limited duration of, say, an hour or two.
how about making ID part crafting.
they could make DVD players that allow dancers and musician to record there performance on.
then they sell these things on vendors so people dont have to come back to town to heal mind wounds and BF. eithe for financial gain only, or UXP.
But BF and mind wounds would heal at a decelerated rate. right now I find it very annoying that a life saper on endor can mind poison me 2 minutes into our hunt. and then I have to spen 10k credits traveling the world looking for a non laggy place to heal the,
Geat way to ruin a hunting trip. and frankly I have yet to meet a dance who is willing to to endor for the sole purpose of shaking there booty.

What about as you fight in combat and such your face gets messed up, kind of like a boxers
Then you could have a datadisk that stores what you face looked like before you got beat up. You could then take that picture to an image designer and then they could try to reconstruct your face back to how you like it.
Other then that not much can be done unless you give them a base ball bat that they can hit people with to make them funny lucking.

im a master Chef, and i'd absolutely love the idea of people getting fatter as they ate more food, we chefs should all look like Mario Batali from 'Molto Mario' on the food network!
For as much as I fly and run around killing stuff I don't think i'm going to get fat from drinking some beer or having a steak
I would like to see somehting to the extent of an Image designer changing your look in order to get a Bounty taken off you (when player bounties go into effect, if ever). That would make a unique skill for this profession.
Just an idea.
