Threads like this make me doubt summary banning.

I know this guy who is posting. To be completely honest, I don't particularly like him: I've known him since daoc and he rubs me the wrong way. But, even so,I'm pretty sure he didn't do this. He's not an exploiter.
I find it strange that punishment for this exploit has been publicized, when others, if any, have not. I find it also strange that many players, including the reputable one that I know, are protesting these actions. I find it puzzling, as well, that it seems almost impossible for these players to have sliced as often as is being cited (a single weapon 92 times).
I am all for the crackdown on exploits, but I honestly don't know what to make of the recent bannings. Whether the players did these things or not, I hope that they get a proper and fair investigation. Even exploiters deserve that.
I read the post and some of the thread. I found it telling that in his reply Blair was first sympathetic went to look at the evidence and then wasn't.
I have a choice; believe the protestations of innocence from the banned player or the SOE personnel with access to server logs. I'll go with SOE.

that's kind of sucky actually, because there are probably quite a few people out there with multiple slice weapons that don't know they have an exploited item. for example one could be sold a twice sliced fwg5 with +50 krayt tissues and be told it was actually a single slice +100 krayt tissue. the user wouldn't know the difference.
*leans her head out of the dark corner* I can see this point very well. There are many cases where someone may not have realized something was an exploit (as above -- I don't use guns and am pretty clueless about what can and can't be done with them.) I would hope that they would warn before banning, or at least give the person the chance to make it right, if that's possible. *shrug*
