Thread: I'd like to see ID's get a race alteration ability.

First, as several people have stated, Lucas Arts has prohibited any post-creation gender and/or racial changes. That's it. Call SOE, complain, threaten, whatever and it will be fruitless. It simply will not be implemented as they will be breaking their license agreement with Lucas Arts if they do.
Second, re-roll! I did it twice. I started out as a tail-head. After achieving 0034 dancer entirely at the keyboard I re-rolled bothan for RP purposes. After getting 0023 dancer at the keyboard again, I was frustrated by bothan stat limitations for what I was going for (dancer/pikeman...this was before buffs mind you!) I re-rolled. This time as a human that my avatar is today. When I re-rolled I had trustworthy acquaintances hold credits/items for me. If it's that game-breaking for you then re-roll. Things go by more quickly the second (and third) time around, and it gives you something to do and less likely to become bored.
Third, I can't think of any MMO (let alone any single-player rpg) that lets you change your race/gender after creation.
Finally, "reviving" my profession? I didn't know it was dead! I have to hide my title if I don't want to get swamped with /tells for sessions.
YAY! I am not the only one!I was starting to think I was being mean for telling people to just make a new character. Ok, I admit, maybe my tone is a bit harsh sometimes. ![]()
I have several characters now. I have a Trandoshan (Urgra) who can bash people's heads in but isn't good for much else. I have my human Tailor (Chyann -- my main) who is just plain cool. And when I decided I wanted an entertainer character, I made a Rodian because they have such strong action stats. My first character was a complete dud (a Mon-Cal thatI made before deciding on a profession), so I learned quickly that I need to think about professions before making a character.
I agree, the second (and third and fourth) time around go much quicker and keep things new and exciting. When I first made my Mon-Cal, there weren't helper bots, so when I made my Trandoshan it felt like a new experience. Urgra did medic and doc for a while, so I knew about tumbling when I made my human. The first thing I did with her was get ranged support 2 and started tumbling for high-rolling medic wannabes and made enough money to take up tailoring. We have all dreamt about, "What if I could do it all again knowing what I know now?" and SWG lets you do that! We get to see the newbie side of life without REALLY being a newbie. Its great, we get all the fun of the "doing it again" experience without having togo through those awkward teen years again -- whew!
