Thread: Making an ID is now painfully slow, isn't it?

I used the tents thing in my math... still 125 hours

62.5 hours x 2 people in tent= 125 manhours

125 hours (self IDin tent)

I don't want to ignore the poor fool who has to be the grinding subject, not if they have to endure 62.5 hours also, with nothing but a cookie cutter hairdo to show for it.

I don't think this was well thought out by the Devs. I agree it's going to take so long to master ID these days that people aren't going to do it. The holo-grinders are going to suffer from it, but fortunately the grind is coming to an end in a couple of months. I'm trying to finish before then.

I was looking at the numbers, and think the best way to advance ID now is to train up to the first available physical change and go from there. In an ID tent you're looking at 100 xp per minute for a cosmetic change, and 300 xp per 2.5 minutes for a physical change. While it's a 2.5 minute delay, it's a slightly faster XP gain (120 xp per min). Still painful, of course.

seems they had a meeting to discuss how to stop the 30 minute ID mastery and instead of saying lets just remove the macro commands that let people macro ID, they came up with this timer idea. a good analogy for this is if the dev in charge was a travel agent and booked your trip to boston from new york with the bus connection in LA...

me, i woulda said remove the macro command. heh just doesnt make any sense.

you're right I didn't break it down into man-hours originally, that's my fault.

Just think how long it would take to master if you actually played the Image Designer and didn't grind through it.As if you'dreally get customers tolet you make the changes one at a time every 2 to 5 minutes so that you could get experience.

I didnt want to intrude or anything but most profs being 15 hours or less? I know some hardcore grinders and majority of profs take them at least one to 2 full days of grinding =P

aaarrgghhh.. I dropped my main combat prof. because it was weak pve.. started my first holo. entertainer. dancer has takene over 4 days... now this.. I told myself I will quit when this game becomes un-fun.. sadly.. it has... I tried to babysit my toon at the cantina talking with guildmates and the ent. group. After doing the marauder missions on Endor for the Armor, I'm stuck in a cantina for days trying to knock this out so I can go do quests and hunt's and other fun stuff. Sadly this is a low point for me. I was gonna save image design for last.....

It is too slow indeed. I even have 2 accounts. Filled the 2 first id skill boxes on the entertainer tree. Used almost 2 hours on that. This goto change! Other than that the new changes looks cool enough.

I hate it.. With all my heart. This is just stupid. NIce to add more, but the timer is just a pain...

Next is doctor buffs taking 15min to apply. Enjoy SWG all...

I just had a holo also telling me to Master ID. I had mastered Entertainer as my first profession including ID 1-4 and I gave it up for medic. Yes it was easy to get xp then. Now it does totally suck.I am on ID 2 and it is taking far too long and is dull, dull, dull. In a tent everyone goes to the Master ID who can do everything for them. I can only change hair at the moment and i don't have and ID profession to display above my head.

I am not a typical Holo grinder. I mastered Medic, Marksmanand Scout for fun. Got half way through Fencer before struggling to find trainers and then decided to get another Holo which was Commando. ID is my third Holo. Ironically Entertainer was my first Holo.

I have heard people say that it will possible to master ID in about 60 hours. It will certainly depend on how lucky you are in a tent. I am one of those players who sometimes has to go a few days without playing and then maybe an hour a day some weeks. Do I want to log on and hang around in a tent everytime I play just to get to Master ID. I think i would like to still go hunting and do other guild stuff too. With that in mind I can't imagine Mastering ID this side of Christmas.

I was actually looking forward to having a go at ID as I thought it would be fun to do something different from killing, looting and pillaging. Now I have changed my mind.

What annoys me the most is that the devs cannot come up with something more intelligent than the easy way out of banddaging everything with timers.

I've been a master ID before all this was an issue tho, the only 'cheat' i used was muon gold. Tho I quickly discovered I did not have the patience to remain a master ID "No i want it blue, no red, no yellow eh ... no what you think" and dropped it soon after. It went well with dancing tho. Just id in downtimes and dance to heal the mind, was a perfect match. Most people in the cantina then were actually atk (imagine that), so a victim wasn't too hard to find.

But these recent changes ... o.O I'm utterly baffled. I guess the image designers are glad to receive such a gift from the devs, but even that gift doesn't come for free.

Oh and holo-images? Please, are we all twelve year olds?
