An addendum, or the latest proof that I'm mentally challenged. I ran the Corvette with my guild tonight and finished it for the second time (seven to go.) Upon returning I hit the cantina and began watching/listening. From force of habbit I tip'd the entertainers as I started watching/listening, without really paying attention to their names—until I saw the tip message…and realized I'd just tip'd the a$$hat that I mentioned in my story. Of all the ironic things to possibly happen.

I totally agree. I don't know why it bothers me, but getting stiffed sucks less than the mockery of a 10 credit tip.

It was the same for me when I was a medic…back when people actually tipped medics. Sometimes I'd get a tip so small I'd've rathered they give me nothing.

My worst tip was the person who when I asked for a tip said, "Here is a tip: Don't eat yellow snow." and then left.

I usually tip ID's 5k credits as a little thank you.

I know, and they're a huge part of why I still ID for the public But boy, those bad ones just tend to stick out in your mind.

My lowest tip (and ive had it a few times) is 500 credits. Not as special as most of yours

highest? 140k (from a jedi no less)

Man, how come y'all get the good Jedi clients? When I ID'd a Jedi all I got was a glowstick show not even worthy of a raver Of course, this was a while ago, and at the time I thought it was really cool…looking back on it, I'd've rather had the credits (Then again, I've fought alongside a Jedi since then, so just seeing the glowstick isn't too impressive anymore)

someone who i sent my price list to (10k-30k for a hairstyle)
and they said they wanted a hairstyle and a face job(5k per mod on the face)

and it ended up coming to 55k or something like that i gave them 50% for being an entertainer and droped the extra 5k so the final was 25k and then the tip me 250credits and i informed them that it was 25k and they said 25credits were all i was worth, so i got mad and flamed them on the boards and got yelled at by garva

but i did get a small bit of revenge, she went a a friend the next day and my friend said she was in a hurry just to accept it all and shell tweek it at the end and made her face hideous and gave her the fro)

10 credits is a slap in the face, I agree.

The worst I got was this Zabrak who has me spend about 30 minutes on him. (I was on Starsider as Irys)

We were on Dathomir. He's not in anything fancy, just some composite boots. So I wasn't so irritated that he didn't tip me, though I kept coughing politely. ( :coughs politely. :waits expectantly apparently isn't a hint)

He thanks me... wanders off, pays 10k for a buff to put his composite armor on. Now I was miffed. And talk to a Twi'lek about how rude that had been.

... the Zabrak is in hearing range.

He comes back.... and asks for ANOTHER change. ... I gave it to him, figuring he caught the hint.

Nah. Just him saying "I have your mail just in case" ...In case of what? who knows. I mean, I've hunted Dathomir. Those missions pay pretty nice, after all. Sheesh.

I've got one to add to this. Back when I was still a MASTER ID, I was running to the ticket droid in Theed when someone asked me if I could do an ID job for them. Tattoo job. Took a long time, had to go through several of them a couple times, and adjust the color several times. Got a 10k tip off that.

So, okay. Time to use the ticket... aarg, another request. Just wanted a hair change. Now, I'm an Imperial and in a well-known imperial guild. The guy asking is in a well-known Rebel guild which had been attacking us for a bit. BUT, I push down the doubt. It's a real easy one - took three tries to find the style he wanted. As soon as it was done, he double-clicks his ticket and is gone.

During the second ID job, a third client came up and had politely asked for some work. We'd had a good raport going, he was asking my opinions as well as offering suggestions, but he was being rather indecisive. And appologetic. Half way through, he tips me 10k "just because I know I'm being SUCH a pain..." at which point I comment about how he's much nicer than that rebel I'd just helped before him. He read that as "That OTHER rebel I'd helped just before him." He was unguilded and covert and was suddenly worried that I somehow could see his faction alignment. So I explained that no, I couldn't see his alignment, the previous person had been from a kinda-but-not-really rival guild and had stiffed me without so much as a thank-you, and that he'd already renewed my faith in the idea that there ARE nice people who play Rebels. We chatted a bit more about some of the rebel-problems my guild had had (mainly about some of the current griefing tactics being used against us like CC camping and Triple-Incap decay) and he was just as incredulous as I that people would do that stuff. AND he just shook his head at the "rebel position" on my home planet that "we're not going to place any more bases because you imperials will just blow them up - we'll just come blow YOURS up instead."

After spending close to a half hour with this guy total, chatting about how rude people can be, how stupid the GCW can be and getting the task at hand done, he tips me another 15K for a total of 25.

There are, indeed, still some nice people out there.

I learned a long time ago *not* to ID on Dathomir on Starsider. I believe 3 times I received payment, the other dozen times I was only given frustration.

The one time I had a session with a Jedi I was given a suitable tip and he said "A jedi never forgets.."

Fuschia,

Think of the 10 credits as a lottery ticket... walk on over to the local hotel and drop them in a gambling machine. Then USE THE FORCE!

But you are right, that is just insulting. It's like leaving a penny tip for a waitress. It says, No, I didn't forget to tip, it's all I felt the service was worth.
