Thread: Holoemote priceings?

100k for stat migrations is perfectly reasonable.

I'll show some hate for a rip off from a profession that doesn't have any cost to make money.
It's just a pure waste in the economy.
If at least they needed something they must buy from me to do so, maybe I would think of paying such price.
On stat migrations I was saying 15k for just that. If they wanted some changes made as well the 15k would be part of those. (i.e. No charge for the changes unless they are difficult customers.)
As far as other changes. I just based it on the difficulty of the customer and how much time they took up. One guy I ended up charging 2k for one change. But he spent 10 minutes deciding on color!
And if you dont count free I suggested 100 credits for one person. "I dont want freckles anymore and can you make my hair dark blue?" [Two clicks and done]
The timers I like and hate. I hate them because for some things they are to long. I like them because gives ID's a reason to talk with the customer more about what they like. And the new interface REALLY helps with that.
Even had one person tip me 5k just for showing him the different face tattos and some color options, no changes.
Then another ID tipped me 1k for some fashion advice. That was surprising to say the least.
That's an interesting point you bring up about the timers. I hadn't thought about that before. I think the timers are only a real problem if you're trying to rip through customers one after another to get the maximum amount of money (hey, slow down and enjoy your profession!) or if you are or have been a combat class (of course if that's the case you're itching to go shoot something!). Lots of people don't have patience to wait 10 minutes, but you're right! Talking to the customers can be fun, as as a service-oriented profession it should be something we start getting used to. I still don't think eye color should take 5 mins though ![]()
The guy a few posts up also made a good point about paying 100K for a mind buff that would last forever... but I counter with the fact that stat migration doesn't double your mind or add additional stat points. Honestly as a MID I would never charge 100K. I hear the people that are charging 100K for it so people WON'T ask them to stat change, but if it were me I'd just politely say "No, I don't like stat migration so I am not doing it." Charging 100K, even as a way to deter customers, strikes most people as incredibly rude. Granted I know it's not always meant to be, but it sometimes comes of as a sarcastic way of saying "get lost."
Heh...well, I've decided I'm going to stop arguing about the prices of stat migration. There are always going to be people who try to gouge others. But, for every one of them, I can find 10 who will charge me a reasonable price. So, the state of things isn't as bad as these threads are making it out to be. I guess you have to decide what is more important for yourself, gouging people or setting up a loyaland happy clientele who respects you. ![]()
Anyway.......as for holo emotes, I love them. I've already gladly spent a lot of money on them, and will continue to buy them. I'm finding all kinds of cool things to do with them while I'm dancing, so I'll have to keep buying them!
I'm sureI will continue to buy hundredsof thousands, probably millions of credits worth of them during my time playing this game.Guess which ID's will get my business? lol

2k for a single emote and 10k for all emotes. Seems fair... I'm also charging 15k for Stat Migrations, which again is reasonable.

100K for a Elite Server is a good price (Bloodfin for example). Carebear servers they go for 10K to free (Tarquinas for example). Really just depends on the server.
I tried setting prices and telling the customer to tip what they like. I believe I did and will make more credits by putting myself at the mercy of the tip. I get no complaints about the price, and I believe that in order to not feel "cheap" many players will probably pay me more than my time is worth. That balances out the ones that feel my time is worth nothing and don't tip me at all.
I had a great time last night, finally being in demand. I spent a great deal of time with each customer (average of 15 to 20 minutes), mostly just showing them all the colors they can have (within reason) what all the hair syles look like on them, etc. I feel I have a greater ability to give them what they want, and to have some fun and experiment on their look without having to offer a change each time. While we were waiting for more customers (they seemed to come in waves), I chatted with the other IDers in the tent, even practiced on each other. I have to say my 2 characters look more pleasing with the new colors for Rhodians and Mon Calamaris.
I didn't realise at first that when you get all 16 holoemotes, you still only get 20 uses overall, and not 20 uses for each. After finding that, I've lowered my prices for holoemotes considerably.
I've recently been charging 3k forholoemote. It's weird that it either gives you the choice to sell one or all of them, but no other combinations. I've always wondered, and this is what I've heard, that if you sell someone a second, it overwrites the first one. I haven't had that situation where someone wanted just two or three of them but not all.
For all of them, I've been trying to think of a price. I've been selling them for 20k for all, with no complaint. However, I still feel bad that they are still only getting 20 uses and thats like 1k per use just to have extra variety. So I might end up lowering that, maybe 15k. When the publish first came out, people were easily paying 45k for all of them, but I question whether they ever realised they still only got 20 uses.

That brings up a question that I've been meaning to ask. I bought some holo emotes yesterday, and was down to about 3 today. I went to buy some more. And, then I noticed I only had 20 charges instead of 23. So, this means we can't stock up on them? We have to actually wait for them to run out before we get more? Seems rather inconvenient.
No stacking possible and one setting overwrites another. So if someone already has imperial holo installed and asks for a rebel, he will only have a rebel emote, not a rebel and a imperial emote. i'm also curiuos why there is only the 1 or all option and not a selection.
Most reasonable price i found is 2k a piece and 10k a set. I usually don't charge for them but ask them to tip me whatever they feel its worth. received anything from 500 to 10k (but that also included hair/color changes etc), but mostly i just handed them out for free.
The only thing I will charge for and will continue to charge for is the stat migration. 20k base price, but negotiable if entertainer/young player.
