Image Designer Archive
Thread: ThunderHeart posted how to write a Community Vision document...
For me the main problem with stat migration is not the "forced socialization". Even before then there were plenty of people who would come up to me asking for a haircut and would give no input into it except for yelling "next!" or "lol", which is hardly a satisfying social interaction. My *main* objection to stat migration as it is right now is that it is completely not creative! It takes absolutely no talent and no experience to bring up the ID interface and click that little box that says to migrate stats. Image designer has traditionally not only been a social profession but a creative and aestetic one as well. Now when I am image designing, the vast majority of the time, people just want me to click that little box and do nothing else. This is not creative, it isn't challenging at all and it simply isn't fun!

I'm sorry, it's a gross generalisation to think that just because you feel it's an improvement, most other people do too. Sure, some people do, but many others hate having to find us, hate having to pay us, have the dependancy they now have on us.
I did not say 'most' i said 'many' there is a difference. 'Most' would have been a gross generalisation, I don't believe 'many' is.
Look around the forums, you'll see some of what we put up with.
Yes you're right there are posters here that are very negative about imagedesigners recieving the stat-migration skill. Like everything else the people that aren't happy about something are usually the ones most verbal about it.
I've done many many stat migrations with my alt to people that are happy enough with the situation, unfortunatly they dont come to your forums to post about it and to be honest after coming here to try to put a positive spin on the revamp i can see why.
And yes, some people want the new colours etc. but that's not the issue
Actually that was the issue for my first reply to the person that was suggesting all you got was a new UI.
You seem to miss the point slightly
As for people around here trivializing Kwee, that's rubbish
You also seem to miss the point slightly, I stated that byrefering towhat she had achieved with the revamp as just a UI that was trivializing her work and essentially the work of your whole community. Not Kwee herself.
Thanks. I hope you all find what your searching for with your profession.
