It's kinda funny how after every revamp suddenly one or two people start to post things like this.
First Bio Engis who thought they had to sell their pets for not under 200k+, some DE fellow who thought that DE have to drastically increase their prices now they got something someone actually wants and now the same here. I just wonder if it's always the same people who just switch profs according to the revamp to earn money fast or real long time members of the profession who really think that charging sometimes ridiculous amounts of money will really help.
I admit you are right ID's needed something good and I can live with the stat migration change, but saying that every char no matter what he is and what he does is comparable to an elite combat prof and so they should pay 50k is ridiculous. Sure some of us can make money that fast, but not everyone and not everyone even wants to spend his whole days hunting rancors lairs.
What makes me sad about this attitude is, that the people who'll have most problems with this are again the new player who start with 200 credits and most time the wrong stats, cause they don't and can't know what's important. They already have the negative experience that everything on the servers due to ongoing inflation is so ridiculous expensive that they have to spend a long time till they even get remotely good equipment and now you'll even want them to run around with wrong stats and by that even increase the frustration for em?
Hoped at least from the "social" profs a bit more.... but seems I've been wrong and some of you are only interested in making money like the rest.

I can see how everyone would be upset about one profession having total rights to stat migration, but changing the time to change stats from days to 10 minutes will be a lot easier. As for the prices, not everyone is going to charge 50k+ for stat migration. Its just like any other profession, some people charge as much as they can or higher and some people will charge a fair price for the services and time taken. I look forward to the changes in the ID profession and I hope everyone will respect the profession more and pay them fair for their time and services.

Speaking as a master pike, buffed an ER lair can be cleared in less than a min by simply doing area attacks on it (without any uber looted lances). Everything just falls around you. Get a half decent sized group and you can rack the credits in, without them having to do anything but watch.

I also have an ID/Muscian alt. I'm not sure what I'll be charging, but I see stat migration as potentially being the biggest income earner (long term) and doubt I'll be offering it a low cost.

Good for you Kasteu, but how many people in the game are master pikeman? So what you are saying is, I should drop my professions, take up pikeman, so I can afford to migrate my stats.

Believe me. Pretty much all of us who are career image designers are not going to ask newbies for 50K to migrate their stats. Some of us might do it for free! I would probably do it for whatever I think they could make doing a couple of missions (for a real newbie, maybe 1000 credits) and if they say "I am new. I only have 200 credits" point them towards the mission terminals. After all, even newbies need to learn that everything will not be handed to them for free. Now in the case of a TKM wearing a full set of composite armor, they will pay the full price. They can make the money for my fee in mere minutes if they want to!

But I was happy waiting days for my stats to migrate all the way. This has nothing to do with Image Designing what so ever. This is just something to give ID's content. I do belive that ID's needed the extra content, but I don't think it should have been at the entire player base's expense.

Interesting information.

Didn't knew about that as I never saw a Rancor and don't have scout.

Thank you for that information.
Based on that, my price for an Adv R3 with 6 effect modules is now 300K.

Regards.

Hoavomo:

But taking away stat migration from the WHOLE player base to give SOME people content is really counter-productive.

this is where you are wrong my friend, the 'some' poeple, will not have the content EITHER...

if you did not know, ID wont be able to SELF stat migrate, Soooooo, basically its just the WHOLE player base , because even if you were an image designer yourself.....well you still dont get it back.

this is what i have read on one of the fix notes on test center i believe...

I agree, I can see everyone (well most) being considerate when it come to newbies.

Anyone who's been playing the game for a while knows what each profession is capable of (income wise), its not difficult to work out.

Many a time when I've been in a hurry (for whatever reason) and had to turning down (muscian) buffing I've been amazed at how many credits they try to throw at me for me to stay. Not that I do, but it can be 5-10x more than my usual asking price.

So with these people asking for 50k to stat migrate, I can't see a problem. Its not like other buffs, which run out in 2-3hours. If is done on the cheap I can see a situation developing where people constantly change their stats just before a hunt and then back again when they are finished to suite another application (which you could not do until today). I would much rather spend my time changing someones look (at a low cost) than being in tell hell over some stats.

Migrating one's stats is not a buff.

It is if you modify them for combat/hunting then change them back when you are done.

This may not affect pure combat templates, but how many others will want to do this?

tdblunt... your kinda missing the point i think.. i think the person is saying its not like other buffs, to justify the price , since stat migration is permanent once set and it wont run out in 2-3 hours and for most poeple, once they get it just right, they wont Ever have to come back to an ID again, unless they were changing professions...etc... this is what i'm getting from that one line of statement, i didn't bother to read the original heh.
