I didn't mean to sound insulting, Madam. I'm sure none of us here assumed you're the type to /shout "MASTER ID ON DUTY" every 3 seconds. In my case, I've just never had too many problems getting customers.. as most people have said, the Master tag alone draws people, so I've never had to speak to get business. Although Kwee has a point.. the Bestine tent is sort of away from any traffic, which may explain why business slows down there...

I really wasn't offended by everyone's comments. I was just surprised at so many people responding negatively. If I say something you don't agree with then by all means sound off! I love a good debate! Like Kwee, I usually do it when the tent is empty to let players know that someone is there and on duty. I turn it off after clients start arriving because it's annoying and makes it very difficult to hold a conversation.

Maybe it's just because using the word 'spam' usually is more negative then calling it 'advertise' ... I don't care much if someone is shouting a little nice advertise now and then... but if he starts to 'spam' it (meaning repeating the same stuff far too often over and over) then the person in question usually find himself between other spammers on my ignoreliste soon. So if some folks here feel compelled, then it was most likely the use of that name

A good advertisement shout when you enter the tent and it's empty is nothing to feel bad about and I think that's what you actually wanted to talk about here... but spam... well in my opinion there is nothing like a good spam...

The only time I spammed was when i was 4000xp points away before getting master. I had most of the apprentice points. anyway it was like 3:30am est and theed was dead. so I spammed for nearly half an hour outside the tent. "come visit the cutest image designer in the galaxy, free stat migrations or cosmetic changes. Garuanteed to your likeing or your money back."

I don't wait around in the tent. Generally going to Coronet will net at least a couple tells before I load in.

I also prefer to ID anywhere but the tent.

LOL, What is he advertising for? I think I'd walk away feeling hopeless, confused and wondering what happened.

Like most other's I've never needed to spam, and disapprove of it for the most part there's enough problems in bestine with all the ents in the cantina spamming "Tip me!" and " I need healing exp!".

I've never needed to spam, people just come to me, and if things get slow I step over to the Cantina and dance with my MID title up and just wait for the /tells to come in.

Be that as it may those ARE clever little advertisements.

Has anyone tried using the auction channel to advertise? or the planet channel? I'm just curious, I'd like to know if anyone has gotten any responses off of that. I did, but not related to IDing, being a lone dancer on lok had its benefits . . .

On several servers entertainers even some IDs have started specific channels. Though I heard that some of them are experiencing serious griefing-trouble with them due to 'hostile-channel-overtakes' and other nasties...
